The kids LOVE this place! On different days of the week they have different things going on, and seem to make an effort to have a «something for everyone» mentality… which is great! We have gone on Family Night(Wednesdays from 6pm-8:30 pm) which includes all you can eat pizza, as well as Thursday night(which is Christian Music night) again with the all you can eat pizza deal. We used groupons both times, but no worries on the price, it’s only 7 dollars a person which includes skates and 2.5 hours of skating and pizza. Ok, so the pizza is nothing to brag about… it could be described as a cardboardish crust with a not so bad but pretty bland sauce and mozzarella cheese on top(at least I think it was mozzarella, lol). But the question is, are people really coming for the pizza anyways? Most likely not! So let’s just focus on what makes this place a hit: * The rink itself(as well as their bathroom)-Well maintained with fun music * The Staff-Nice Enough… they get the job done, and they do it well * The location-right off the main road(Greenbrier blvd and Volvo) and easy access getting in and out of private parking lot * The Price-can’t be beat Overall, the kids are getting some great exercise skating with fun to listen to music, and get to eat a little pizza while they’re at it… who wants to waste time on eating pizza though when you’re their for skating right?! The kids have already asked to go back, which is a clear indication that this place is truly a hit! We will be coming back(groupon or no groupon) and think this family skating rink does a pretty good job at what they do(providing a well maintained safe place for children and adults alike to skate and have fun at)

The UNLIMITED pizza nights on Wed & Thurs give 1 teeny, tiny slice of pizza to anyone who isn’t over 18. It’s a joke. The line was 40 minutes long for pizza on 12÷30÷15 and they wouldn’t even let the poor kids or teens have 2 of the teeny, tiny slices, as adults get. The floor seems to have been recently polished as of this visit and the DJ appeared to be better then whoever they had before. The game room is still closed with a table blocking its doorway. The pizza though… that was petty!

Omg there were kids everywhere lol. Fries and chilicheese dogs tasted good for a skating ring. My niece had a birthday here and she loved it. It was cute to see her go up to the front and be able to skate all by herself for her bday. We also had the funnel cake sticks were good too. Keep up the good work guys.

I’m not normally one to complain, but my wife and I have 3 children, 10,6, and 2. You do the math that is A LOT of birthdays. The place is fine, the kids love to skate, however, this was by far the worst experience I have ever had from a staff(excluding an older lady and a younger girl apparently the manager who did understand and try to help). Aside from paying for the«party room» which there facebook states they serve food, cake etc., you also have to pay an additional 2 $ for roller blades… ok…I was even ok with that, its the«serving» part. We had 17 kids come to the party, ordered 6 extra pies of pizza for $ 18.00 a pie that they make there, not delivered, and they were dropped off on a cart for us to serve. They had plenty of staff to assist, but instead they left the cart in the room for wife and mother to pass out all the pizza to the kids pass out the plates pass out the drinks etc. We have the room for 1 hour. The pizza came out slightly late but the serving took a long time, again, because of the amount of kids and the lack of help. About 20 minutes left and we were about to have cake but then they called the red light green light game out on the floor which of course the kids wanted to play. That took about 15 minutes. Then all the kids came back in to finally sing and at this point the staff, now willing to assist, tried to move ALL the kids ALL the food and the cake out of the room to an outside table to sing and finish the party. To me that was unacceptable. The party wound up costing right around $ 500. For that price I felt like we should have much better service and coordination ensuring that we got our full use of the room for an hour. There was no coordination whatsoever. I thought maybe it was me just being picky, but even the other parents there couldn’t believe the lack of help and rudeness from some of the staff. They did finally agree to give us 20 more minutes to finish up the party in the room. I would not recommend this place for a big party or if you are expecting help by having the«party room».

I liked this rink. I went on a Saturday and it was gospel night. They played gospel music and many church groups were there. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our time even though it was a lot of kids. It’s more of a kids ages 3 – 13 skating rink. The people were nice and they played games with the children. There’s a person that monitors the skating rink at all time and he’s a little strict but safety first. I enjoyed this rink.

A posted time schedule would be nice. Wasted time I didn’t have at 5:45pm to find out it’s not open.

I live in North Suffolk and attended this Skating rink for a birthday party. The parent with the child who had a birthday refused to pay the hefty sum they were asking to host a birthday party there, so she decided to pay for all of the kids who attended and then took everyone to McDonalds afterwards for the gifts. The vibe I get from skating rinks nowadays is something like a creepy feeling that everything that I am touching is the same dirt and filth that was there in the 1970’s. The blacklights and neon just make it worse for me. Of all the rinks in the area, this one appears to be the least gross. It was clean as skating rink could be. We didnt eat any of the food here. At least the skates were all operable and the rollers weren’t stuck. I was also struck that I believe this rink is a Christian run business, given that they had a biblical picture on the wall and scripture. I also noticed that the music was current, tasteful, and appropriate for the age of the children present. Al I am not sure if I would ever have a kids birthday party here, but I think it was the best out of the choice of Smithfield Skate and Haygood. All of the employees were very nice and it also appeared that they were renovating some of the side rooms. If you have the need to skate in Hampton Roads, I think this would be the best place to go.

I really had a great at this rink with the friends. The atmosphere was nice for a rink. Actually, I like the old school type rink, but I liked this rink just fine. The skate floor was very nice and the people were friendly and having a blast time.
