The other reviews here weren’t great, but we were staying at Harrah’s across the street and wanted something simple for lunch. The Soco Diner was close enough to walk(and frankly a shorter walk than the car), so I decided to give it a try. It’s nothing special to look at and the food is classic diner fare(burgers, fries, and the like) — but the burger special was tasty, the fries appeared to have been hand cut(they were also hot and crisp.) It’s not fancy, but if you generally like diner food I think you’ll like this one. Also, we were very satisfied with the service during our visit. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced meal in Cherokee, this place ranks high on my list!

my sister and i walked in and were greeted by a «please wait to be seated» sign and no one else… waited 3 minutes and decided it might be faster to sit outside??? she asked the man @ the register. he said okay. we sat outside for at least 5 more minutes… so awkward… okay, 5 more minutes, then we’re leaving…5min 30 secs later: «hey.»…we spend 5 minutes debating if that salutation was directed at us… she finally comes to take our drink and food orders. BUT i have a question about the fish. she goes down the menu pointing out everything she doesn’t like/know about. so i’ll take the cheeseburger??? the food was just average. and the service was way below. they do have crinkle-cut fries, which i appreciated.

Surprisingly one of the only places where you can get Indian Tacos, but don’t get your hopes up. An Indian Taco consists of indian fry bread(think of elephant ears you devour at the fair minus the sugar), chili beans, a little ground beef, lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes. It’s basically a glorified taco salad… yum-e.
