Been to Green Door couple of times, menu pretty limited, food OK but not great, service average, prices OK. Not up to Oskar but decent place to eat in Cheraw.

Went here and got the amazing sampler platter with the best rib eye that I’ve ever tasted. They were amazing with the annual Sandblast event, they took care of racers and crew, with utmost attentiveness and service. Even without the event, this is the best place in Cheraw!

I was in Cheraw for a work trip and this place became my favorite place to go. The atmosphere is great: there is a nice bar area where you can smoke indoors, however they have great air circulation and you can barely tell when people are smoking. They also have a separate dining area which is great for Families and dates. Finally, they have an amazing back yard/patio area which you should take full advantage of if the weather is nice. On to the food: Chef Rodgers is great and is always changing the menu so you will never get bored. I believe that he studied culinary arts in France and many other places. You should check out his instagram at «chef.rodgers». Last but definitely not least Devon the bartender of 5 years is a great bartender and keeps the bar well stocked with a good variety of beers and hards. I love this place and definitely recommend it!

Went here on a Friday evening… Free tip… There are two entrance doors but the one one the right is the entrance… when we first were seated our waitress was friendly enough… The menu is rather limited, which is fine but I know some people might prefer a few more choices… I’m not sure why waitresses don’t want to write down orders anymore but every time we’ve placed an order at any restaurant that does this the order has been wrong but it seems to be a trend lately… So when we placed our orders we basically all got the same thing with a few small differences… All parties with us ordered the ribeye, when the steaks arrived they looked pretty good and honestly my steak was one of the best I’ve ever had… And to me that’s a big deal!!! It came with loaded mash potatoes which were imho nothing special… now getting back to not writing down the orders… My wife asked for the goat cheese roasted potatoes(I know fancy right) well of course they didn’t come out initially… The waitress apologized and said she’d bring them… a few of the steaks were cooked a little rarer than ordered but to me that’s not a huge deal… actually nothing that went wrong is a huge deal but as a culmination they sorta lessened the dining experience… well when the waitress finally brought the roasted potatoes(took a while but this proves that they are made to order and I actually considered it a plus) let me tell you these goat cheese roasted potatoes were magnificent I have to say that they paired with the steak extremely well! I mean I raved about them so much that the people with us got tired of hearing me rave about them! Another minus in my opinion is that the entrée didn’t come with any type of bread, to me this is just wrong if you are serving a big hunk of prime beef for gods sake take that opportunity to show off some bread skills and throw a piece on the side… but maybe that’s just me… So when the checks arrive the other couple with us was charged an extra three dollars for a extra side but all he did was substitute but we weren’t charged for doing the same thing… Go figure… the price is fair enough I guess… but when we paid, the other couple had an issue with their card and guess what? We get to pay for their meal(the one with the extra 3 dollar charge lol!!)now because the checks were crossed up… but no biggie whatever! They ran out of diet coke too! I’ll be honest with you if they would have served me that magnificent steak with those goat cheese roasted potatoes and gave me a piece of bread, and not ran out of drink, I might be saying that this was the best steak experience I ever had,(and this is not a self proclaimed steak house) I’m serious folks there’s that much potential here… There’s someone back there in that kitchen than knows how to cook. But imho there’s someone else that is completely hung up on having a «fine dining restaurant» that I’m thinking they are trying too hard on the latter and not quite living up to it… but the steak and potatoes may bring me back… I have a suspicion that if we would have ordered something a little more complex that would let the chef really show off we might have been a little more impressed…

I am in Cheraw on business. A local colleague told me about Green Door. He had heard good things about it. So I went for dinner. The owner came to my table and I asked what he recommended. I ordered a Caprese salad and the Rigatoni. Both were excellent. Fresh basil and tomatoes in the Caprese, from local farms. The Rigatoni was home-made and interestingly spiced. Service and prices were reasonable. A welcome relief from all the chain restaurants in Cheraw. I highly recommend Green Door.
