S & L Cold Cut Center

Ordered a large Steal And Cheese for lunch today. Granted the sub was huge (which at this place all subs are monsterous) it really lacked in flavor. Didnt seem like there was any seasoning or salt, pepper etc… And the meat was like saw dusty. Very dissapointed i try to always come here when im in the area but over the last few years the quality of the product has deffinately slipped

Just a great little place for a quality cold cut sandwich. One sub is 2 meals. Imported Italian sub with hots is the best only $ 8.83 Remote control for scale in the pic. No credit so bring cash.

Great cuts of meat, good bread, good selections. A timeless family favorite. If you are looking for fine dining, look elsewhere, this is good, clean, simple Ma/​Pa sub shop.
Fast, and Delicious, and once you’ve checked them out, you’ll be a new regular.
I’ve had ½ dozen sandwiches in last 2 months, and never a bad meal…
1 sub will feed you for 2 days. :-)
The location has been renovated, now it feels new and cleaner! Better atmosphere for all.

The best deli and sandwich shop in Chelsea. The sub are fresh and pretty big. I recommend it to any one who come to Chelsea, but come early they close at 3:00

Monstrous subs! 1 sub can easily feed 2 adults. When it comes to subs, size does matter:-p.prices were super cheap. We got Italian and Pastrami subs. Will be back, want to try the pasta dishes and salads that looked wicked good.

In terms of subs, my #1 place to go is S&L
I’ll start out by saying that I like the atmosphere. It’s small but it has that nice old school look. The people who work their are nice too. All of the cold cuts are fresh. That’s very important. Some of my favorites are Itallian, turkey, American, taco (special), and haddock melt. My favorite one is the ham, silami, and cheese. What makes the subs even better are the rolls. They’re always fresh. I’m not a fan of the hot subs though. But I suggest you definetly try the cold subs.

I have been a big fan of S&L since the opened back in 90−91… and this is one business that gives back to the community. Parents, teach your kids to go here and not to heartless monster chains like Subway.
Remember that they donate to Babe Ruth, Little League, CYBL and Pop Warner… The subs are great and I wish there would expand into Malden where the Subway shop is.

O s&l sub shop I have been getting subs from this place my whole life I still go once a week, huge subs I mean 4.50. For a ham and chesse I think the most exspenssive is 7.50 and seeing as most sub shops start at 6 for a sub half the size. The bread is fresh every morning, the italian is great but like all places they have a, down side the hamburger is not good and the quality is not great but the, have been in chelsea for 50 years or so, they must be doing somthing good,

The subs are HUGE and that is the only size available.
I love this place but I can’t give it 5 stars, I’ll put it this way, they are the best value for subs but as other people have said they are not «the best».
The Italian is classic and great, and on Fridays the Haddock melt sub is to die for and quite popular (they have extra staff on Fridays to account for the demand). Note that they are cash only (unless you have WIC)

Where else can you get a gigantic footlong + sub for about $ 5?
The daily specials are the best deal there. I love the taco subs, the meatloaf, chili dog sub and the old standbys of American subs or Genoa Salami and Cheese.
The Italian Subs are the second best Italian Sub I’ve had taste-​wise (especially, when you spring the extra $ 0.75 for the imported Italian sub) and the best valued Italian sub anywhere.
Come hungry, bring a friend or plan on eating the other half for dinner!

This place DOES NOT pride it self on the brands of cold-​cuts they sell. This place DOES NOT say that they offer ‘the best’ sandwichs or ‘the best’ of anything in that matter. There must be a reason why there is a line out the door and the phone rings off the hook. You either like it, or you don’t! I absolutley love S & L subs!
I am a BIG fan of quality sandwiches and cold cuts, and I’m not saying that S & L has top quality, but sometimes you just want a HUGE, good tasting sandwich on fresh bread. Their subs are unique. They only offer the one size and they did increase the prices. The sub is so big that you can eat half for lunch and eat the other half later.
To contradict Jason, nothing like a fresh cooked chicken from home, but sometimes you crave chicken nuggets. I can eat something healthy, but sometimes I want a hot dog. No reason to give a mom and pop ONE STAR, just because it’s not your style.

In the wonderful land where there is a sub shop (Chealsea, E. Boston, etc) on nearly every corner S&L does not even sit in the middle of the pack. They brag about the portions which are huge, the prices reflect that a bit though the quality is a bit trashy. Processed patties for the Chicken parm sub $ 7+tax … give me a break. Cold cut subs lack the thickness and right away you feel like you have been ripped off. No Boars Head either … pass.
