A few years ago my kids and I got our open water certification through Northeast Scuba. They made the process very easy and the instruction was great: small class sizes and lots of attention. My son and I went back to take a refresher course as we haven’t dived in a while and wanted to brush up. And once again, the process and the instruction was top notch. Tonight, our instructor was Steve, and his knowledge and patience made the course extremely useful. Steve walked us through the various scenarios and where needed, he slowed things down and patiently reviewed with us until we got it right. Then, when it was over, he made sure we were comfortable in the water, answered our questions and gave us all the time we needed to ensure we left with the confidence that we are ready to dive. I most highly recommend Northeast Scuba for any scuba instruction.

I recently was open water certified at this shop. The instructors were amazing, a doctor named Mike Lennon and his wife Jan who have enormous expertise and experience. A few observations. 1. I was highly impressed with the instructors formal education as a doctor, his career as a naval trainer and his diving expertise. It will be hard to ever find someone with these qualifications to teach you to dive. 2. The follow up was great. After the class they stayed in touch to schedule The open water dive. 3. The training both classroom and water was great. 4. Me and my wife purchased a groupon so the price was great for the course. 5. The cost of the store products were Average. After I purchased the mask and fins, I realized I could have done slightly better online. The prices were not the worst or best. It made sense for me being a new diver to buy in the store to try it on and get good feedback but if your open to risk you could get products for less money. I highly recommend this shop.

2 stars exactly. «Meh. I’ve experienced better». Overpriced, but what dive shop isnt? Many times I’ve gone in curious to see what they have for a particular item and many times they’ve showed me an item and proclaimed after looking at their inventory, «wow I need to order more of these». Maybe its just me, but I like it when stores have full inventory when I! am in the shop– not next week. The rental gear is about par– crappy. The tanks actually looked new, but the BC and wetsuit were fairly beaten and retro ta boot. The only rental gear that I’ve loved to dive in was PG Dive(in Newton). I will say that the shop owner was super friendly and knowledgeable, he suggested some great dives that are off the beaten path. I rent and shop here only because its on my way to and from work.
