Big L Windows & Doors

Pros:
–they can custom make just about any door
–their stock is really nice quality
–their showroom is easy to navigate
–employees friendly and competent
Cons:
–VERY EXPENSIVE
Had a budget in mind for a door/​sidelight/​frame. Big L’s estimate was at least 3 times more expensive than my estimate from Lowe’s. Perhaps you get what you pay for, but wow, I wasn’t planning on the estimate I got from here.
If you have $ 4−5K budgeted for a door, and believe in getting what you pay for, come to Big L for your door. There’s no way I could afford the stock here, though they did point out that they have financing available. Yikes.

We just got nine windows installed.
The work seemed nicely done and the job was completed quickly, BUT…
I’d grade Big L a C for clean-​up and customer service. I found a significant number of paint chips (lead??) all over the house, which was a problem because we have a baby who touches the floor then jams his fists in his mouth. It looked like they didn’t make much of an effort to sweep up after the job. (The salesman offered to come by and vaccuum after I informed him of the issue, but I’d already done it.)
Also, their crew apparently drove their truck into a branch hanging over our driveway, then left without saying anything about it. I suppose it’s possible that they didn’t realize they had hit the tree. The company took care of trimming the branch off, but refused to give us a discount for the trouble. This kind of upset us, as the tree was a beautiful old catalpa, and paying for the trimming didn’t really correct the wrong in our eyes. They did volunteer to install an additional window for free, but we don’t need anymore windows.

Big L did a Fast, efficient, and amazing job on our windows installation. We are completely satisfied with the job the crew did for us, plus they cleaned up beautifully. I’ll be sure to recommend them to friends and family.

Big L did an AMAZING job on our windows. We had 38 windows in the house to replace and I wish we could have used Big L for all of them. We only used them for the windows in the front of the house and our kitchen. They are superior windows, but you pay for it. They did wood windows rather than vinyl. All our windows are unique custom sized and they had no problem. I woul dgive them 5 stars, but they are very expensive. Thats the only negative. But, like I said — you pay for what you get. Our neighbor also used them for their front picture window and were very happy.
