The 3rd Deck Burger Bar

This place is pretty cool. It’s on a boat, obviously. Has all kinds of comfy chairs and couches to lounge on. It really feels like a living room. Nice deck on the back overlooking the river and bridges
Prices are ok. $ 6 for a 16oz Sweetwater, $ 5 for bud and domestics, $ 4 for high life. They serve liquor as well. Happy hour with a $ 1 off beers and specific drinks.
Anyways, unique place to grab a drink in nooga, worth checking out!

Multiple accounts of this place openly discriminating against (refusing service, mocking, and grossly overcharging) LGBT people and people of color. Hope the owners take some accountability and stop this shameful practice!

This restaurant on the 3^rd deck of a boat is known for their burgers. So, I got the burger and fries special for $ 9.99. I have been here several times as it is on the boat called pier 2.
This is a perfect place to come and cool off from Riverbend. It is hidden gem of Riverbend because of this. Most people do not know that you can just walk on this boat to the 3^rd deck and get a beer or two or a burger and fries. If you like, just go here and find a couch in front of a TV and rest up and cool off. A waitress will be on their way.
You can also check out the outside as their is outside seating or just stand along the railings and take in the scenery. You can see other smaller boats too.
They have happy hour daily from 2pm till 7pm where drinks are $ 1 off.
menu items ordered: burger, fries, coke and a fat tire beer. The burger was great and tasted good and was big.

Place was very strange. Decent beer selection, food was 3/​10, bar seats are W A Y — F A R — A P A R T.

I had a bad experience. I don’t want to say too much about it other than you should probably stick with beer.

We enjoyed a late lunch on a beautiful ‘Nooga afternoon. Got a burger and wings. The burger was pretty darn good, without being pretentious. Topping selections are the norm so the burger itself could shine. The wings had a really tasty sauce, but I thought they were small. Bartender was friendly, helpful, and attentive. I look forward to going back and watching some football in the little living rooms. Hope there are more folks there. It was pretty empty when we went. (Not always a bad thing)

This is an awesome place for a local to chill without a crowd and in the mood of not expecting to much. This is an awesome scene. The perfect set up for a 4 star chef and a couple good rotating mixologist, unfortunately just a set up. This owner has never attended a four star venue and if they have they care nothing of duplicating it. Again I love the scene, it has so much potential, BUT!
The actual bar, was a huge let down… very under stocked, mostly what I call a tourist bar. Something you would expect at a decent holiday inn that serves liquor. The bartenders were nice guys. They tried. That means a lot, but with Unilocal I’m more honest than with my dog, and there is no more honest. Nick the bartender I almost tried to hire myself because he was trying to be so accommodating. He pretty much gave this place another star in my mind.
I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, it was good for a frozen sandwich on a decent bun, and still cold when I got it, keep in mind I haven’t eaten in 36 hrs due to a virus, I should have fing loved every crumb naturally. It kinda reminded me of the time i had the munchies and I ordered a chicken sandwich from a Trailor at the county fair in south Alabama… but the county fair one was better and I got sick off it.
They had no Avion. From here on out if you call yourself a bar and you don’t have the worlds best tequila two years running, you can not call yourself a bar, and you loose one star with me. They gave me a beer with no glass in a can, that’s so freakin redneck, even for Chatt.
I could go on for days, but I have closed my tab because they kept their baileys outside on the bar, Irish cofee not on the menu, lol, off to try new tmac… hope
I will be back when I want a cheap beer and I’ve got another 5 guys on my tab.
Tab was 102.00 for four of us, not bad, but would have been a lot more if there was any selection or decent food. Hope they stay open long enough to be able to be something other than a tourist trap.
Ask about renting it out for a party see as I do that every so awesome, they wanted 7500 a day… lol…your can’t rent pretty much any restaurant in town for less than 5k and they have actual out of college professional staffing. Of course this is probably why it’s only been rented once, such a waste of cool space !

Odd and disappointing experience. My family came into the restaurant and were greeted by a man who looked confused and asked why we were there. He then clarified by asking if we were drinking at the bar or eating (a question I’m not usually asked when dining with my 2 and 5 year olds). We picked a table and the server asked if our children would also be eating…“uhhhhh yeah…“
After that although The restaurant was almost completely empty (the indoor area was completely empty besides us and we peeked outside and there were maybe 3 tables occupied), the server did not come back. We were seated then sat there for at least 25 minutes before we finally gave up on ever having our drink order taken.
I approached our server. I told him why we wouldn’t be staying. He said «my bad» and that he could take our drink order now. I said no and that I had a bad vibe about the whole experience. And he said «well, I can’t do anything about vibes.»

Went Sunday afternoon. It was dead inside. Food was excellent, but service was not acceptable. We sat on the deck, our server brought us our drink and another server brought us our food. We needed condiments, napkins, and refills, but no one ever came back to us. After practically finishing our lunch, we went inside to find someone to wait on us. Finally got what we needed. The servers did apologize, but someone else told us it was just because they were hungover from a poker tournament the night before. This place has great potential, but lacks management and marketing!!!

First time discovering this gem, however it was a dead Sunday night so we weren’t sure what was going on inside. Took us forever to figure out where the actual restaurant was, hardly any blunt signage to a newcomer. We sat at the bar and had a couple drinks… Bartender was super nice. Barefoot wine (bottom of the barrel) was way overpriced, imported beer priced normal. Didn’t eat the build your burger but will try it out next time we are looking for a burger joint.

This is a funky bar on the 3^rd floor deck of an old riverboat in Chattanooga.
Most of the indoor seating is big comfy leather furniture that you can definitely fall into and fall asleep in. There are 6 seating areas that all focus on their own TV’s. In the middle of the room are a few 4-​seater tables. Around the outside of main seating area are game areas. And outside there is a deck with additional seating. The bar itself is small with 4 or 5 seats.
I didn’t try the burgers. I was just killing time before a dinner cruise but I did sample the beer. Not much to say about the beer. It’s all bottled with selections from the usual big 3 to Lagunitas and a few other national craft beers.
The bartenders were very friendly but they kept waking me up asking me if I needed anything. lol. Maybe they should reconsider that comfy furniture to prevent people like me from falling asleep.

We had a fantastic experience tonight! We were a little worried when it was so empty… But we quickly realized it is a hidden gem! The food was fantastic, the service was great and the kids had a blast playing air hockey and fooseball! And to top it off… They gave us a golf cart ride back to the parking lot!!! Definitely recommend this place!

The 3^rd Deck Burger Bar (3DBB) is housed on the 3 deck of Pier 2. Pier 2 is an elegant former casino boat and home of the Southern Belle Riverboat, a Chattanooga tradition. While the main deck houses offices and a gift shop the 2^nd is a banquet hall and the roomy 3^rd deck is full on leather sofas each with it’s own big screen TV. It’s the perfect place to watch the game or just hang out with friends. While the menu has other items it is the 3^rd Deck BURGER BAR and the care in making the signature item is obvious. This half pound Angus beef burger is served with a side of skin on fries and a unmatched view of the Tennessee River.
