I can’t imagine parking in this lot is ever fun, but at least the food is good. It’s definitely a fusion taco place, and they do a good job with it. Some friends and I ate dinner here before leaving to go back to Atlanta, and I think we all enjoyed it. We were seated after a 20 minute or so wait, but the waiter was attentive thorough the experience, which is great when it happens since it’s not common for waiters to be like that in busy restaurants. That being said, the food was good, and the atmosphere cozy. I would come back here again and try some different tacos, as I was impressed with the flavors I tried while here. I tried the Korean BBQ, Loaded Gyro, and Taco Royale. I ended up saving two of the tacos to eat later, and they re-heated pretty well. I think my favorite was the Korean BBQ one. PROS: –Lots of varied flavors and cultural fusions, from Korean and Greek to American and, specifically, Southern. –It was pretty busy, but our waiter was attentive and charismatic. –Meat was cooked well, and remained tender and the sauces that were paired with the tacos were good. CONS: –Parking is AWFUL. All I can say is this: good luck. –Chips and salsa are an additional cost.(This is usually the case with inauthentic Mexican food, though.) –Tacos are a bit expensive, at $ 3.75−4.00 per taco.

I was here recently with a group of 7 for my brother’s birthday. The wait staff was very accommodating of our large party, even on a Saturday night, and we only waited ~10 minutes. Most of us got the 2-tacos-and-a-side meal, which is a great deal in the $ 8.99 range. I had the baja fish taco, carnitas taco, and the plantains. Carnitas taco = EXCELLENT. Plantains — good. Baja fish = TERRIBLE, you should never order it. The fish tasted dried out, there wasn’t much else for flavor in the taco, and it was overall extremely disappointing. I was really happy in the end that they had messed up my original order so they brought the carnitas taco late, which meant I had it to salvage the meal at the end. The margaritas were fine but exceptionally sweet, so they must use some kind of pre-made mix instead of making it in-house. In the end, I think that there are better Mexican places out there. I don’t live in Chattanooga so unfortunately I can’t recommend any, but this place feels too corporate and Americanized to provide actual good Mexican food. One tip: flour tortillas are standard but they will use corn tortillas upon request.

I love Taco Mamacita for several reasons: location(plenty of parking), food(no basic tacos here!) and ambiance(pretty spacious with lot of inside/outside seating). I’ve had everything from their tacos(Shrimp Po’ Boy being my favorite) to their guacamole and soups. The only complaint I have about this place is that service can be a tad bit slow(even when the restaurant is not busy). This last time I went I had the Sloppy Joe nachos and they were amazing! Overall, Taco Mamacita is one of my favorite places here in Chattanooga.

Buzzing on a Friday night, Great atmosphere. Wish I could I say I was impressed with the food, but that was not the case. Decent food but far from authentic. Had the Cajun chicken and the taco royals, which the latter was by far the better of the two.

I’d been to the Nashville location once before and was excited to give the Chattanooga location a try. I met a friend for dinner after work and we had a great time! We started off with a couple drinks — I had the Passion Fruit Sangria and she had a classic margarita. I would get that sangria again any day. So good. The 2-tacos-and-a-side meal is great: I had a California Club, Sloppy Jose and sweet potato fries. Sooooo good! Oh, and can’t forget queso. What’s a dinner at a Mexican place without queso? I’m picky with my Mexican food and Taco Mamacita has never disappointed. Already looking for an occasion to go back!

Pretty great Mexican food. Their tacos are all different and unique. The Korean BBQ is my favorite. The sweet potato fries may be my favorite part.

Overall good — I still miss when this place when an Irish Pub though! The food is solid but not spectacular. Noisy if you are trying to have a conversation or business lunch.

Reminds me of the Tex-Mex version of Texas Roadhouse. Nice campy atmosphere, a good attentive wait staff and great food. Definitely worth a visit if you like this type food!

Amaze balls! They have a great selection of Tacos. Between 4 of us we ended up trying 14 different tacos because they all sounded so delicious. We also had the sampler appetizer which included chips, quest, guacamole and salsa. The guacamole was to die for!!! The Cadillac margarita was amazing as well. Definitely recommend this restaurant but be warned– you WILL leave STUFFED!

After the Great Flood the Heavenly Father promised he wouldn’t attepmt to drown us again. Seems he lied. Driving through yesterday’s nasty storm with about 20′ visability the entire time I was traveling on the 840÷24÷27 leg from Memphis to Chattanooga I was pretty hungry by the time the moving crew and I hooked up so Taco Mamacitas sounded excellent. Yay! They have a vegan menu. I ordered the avocado tacos and the Mexican chopped salad. My charming companion ordered the gyro and carnitas tacos, chopped salad and a margi. The remainder of our party ordered various other yummy goodies. So the two stars: after being seated we waited about 10 minutes before we had to locate our server. I ordered tonic water and received club soda. I asked for no red beans in my salad only to receive them. My avo tacos arrived only to turn out to be my companion’s meaty-meat-meat tacos which became apparent to me just before I took a bite. It took no time at all to sort of the orders so at the end of the day I ate the salad and tacos with much enthusiasm and satisfaction partially because the food was quite good and partially because I was glad to be alive. I plan to give them another shot the next time I’m in town so I hope it was just a one off.

I took my wife here and we loved the food. The only problem we had was the portions were a little small for the price. We could tell that they use fressh ingrediants and that was a huge plus. The waitress was very good and attentive. We would recomend this restuarant if you like Mexican food.

I really enjoyed this spot! At the recommendation of a friendly bartender I had a «Shrimp Po’ Boy» Taco, and a patron recommended the«Gyro» Taco, BOTH were excellent. When I mentioned my SEVERE allergy to raw onions, my food was treated with care. I LOVE it when a restaurant takes measures to not kill their customers. When I Chattanooga, I will be back and maybe even try one of their signature tequila drinks.

I try to go here as often as possible. Their food is always fresh and always so good. I recommend the Caribbean Jerk tacos. I know there are other items on the menu which are likely better, but I enjoy these so much I never try anything else. They have a great beer selection which always includes Chattanooga Brewing as well as beer brewed throughout Tennessee.

Overpriced for such small bland portions. Always very crowded there. Our waiter say down at the table with us to take our order, making us feel uncomfortable. We had to pay for chips and salsa that turned out to be the most mild salsa we had ever had. I ended up putting nearly half a bottle of the hot sauce they had on the table into the salsa to even taste it. Vegetarian options are scarce since they can’t really substitute anything there. The portion sizes were so small for the price we were paying. Overall bland flavor that left me still hungry. Paying almost $ 40 for 2 people to eat and still be hungry is ridiculous. I haven’t been back since.

Went here today and 4 hours later even after an almost 2 mile walk I am still STUFFED! We started out with the app sampler(queso, guac, and red salsa) it was pretty good nothing super extraordinary. Me and my husband both went with the 2 tacos and side for $ 8.99. Now be warned they have a HUGE selection of tacos and if your are indecisive and a foodie like me that can be a problem ;) I ended up getting the Korean BBQ and Steakhouse tacos both are made with brisket and the meat was so tender, some of the best brisket I have ever had. Both tacos were very flavorful, I really enjoyed them! As a born and bread southern girl I was VERY impressed with how good their beans and«chipotle» collards were(options for sides) I ordered mexican street corn on the cob for my son and couldn’t resist taking a bite… I am sad I was already so full I couldn’t eat more it was so juicy! Service was a bit slow but we were also there kind of late afternoon around 1:30 so maybe that’s why but all in all we will for sure go back next time we are in town!

The food was great. Tacos are good I for. I love the homeboy taco. I tried to recruit the waitress to come work for my company because she had such an amazing personality. Marlena was her name. She definitely made all of us laugh, constantly refilled our drinks, and was always one step ahead of us. She definitely made it so we all wanted to come back! Marlena is amazing! Thank you for the experience. I will definitely be eating here again next time I’m in town.

Tacos tacos tacos! What else can there be??? I think this IS the best taco in town! You can find it on the northshore and the best part is that it has parking! Well, it shares a lot with a few other places, so likely you’ll find it crowded. Every time I’ve come it has always been crowed regardless of the day of the week… So the menu has the usual appetizers. The guacamole and queso are delicious. Then of course a page of tacos! Pay for them by the piece or a combo. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad taco here… The servers are great and helpful :) so just take your time and enjoy the company that you are with… And it can be a long or short night :) Also this place is kid friendly. Not problems there. There is also an outdoor barish area for socializing etc. This is a great hangout!

The tacos were extremely flavorful. The corn on the cob side was delicious, but the chili lime rice was bland. The restaurant has a very nice feel to it.

I feel like I’m probably the last person in Chattanooga to try Taco Mamacita’s. The several times we’ve tried to eat there, it’s been so crowded, we didn’t want to wait. That and the fact that it has pretty mixed reviews, didn’t move it to the top of my list. However, last Saturday we found ourselves downtown early enough on a Saturday evening that we only had to wait 10 minutes. First things first, we both chose margaritas, I forgot to write down the names, but mine was the cheaper model and my husband’s was a little more expensive. Mine was the weakest margarita that I’ve ever had. It tasted primarily of mixer — not a hint of tequila or even lime juice. My husband’s was a little better, but not much. $ 16 for two weak margaritas when we can go to our favorite Mexican restaurant and get a pitcher of Top Shelf margaritas for $ 19! Definitely not a win on the margaritas. Second of all, no chips and salsa! I know I could have paid for them, but I was already overpaying for a weak margarita, so I’m glad we chose not to get them. We both chose the option for 2 tacos and a side for $ 8.99. There was a nice selection of tacos and I had a pretty hard time choosing. I settled on Baja Fish and Korean BBQ, my husband chose The Taco Royale and the Caribbean Jerk and we both chose the black bean and corn salad for our side. Let’s start with the good. My Korean BBQ taco was excellent. It was spicy and flavorful, perfectly balanced. The Baja Fish taco was very boring. The fish was cooked well and it was topped with cabbage, radishes and pico and cilantro. The topping was very dry, it needed a sauce or at the very least a squeeze of lime. The black bean and corn salad was very runny and weirdly bland. The sauce tasted like the liquid that comes with canned beans, the kind you usually drain and rinse off. The husband’s Taco Royale was very good, and the Caribbean Jerk was good. Overall, not impressed.
