This café is so good! The food is flavorful. Great comfort food that isn’t too heavy. Definitely try the patty melts and the fried pickles!

A great, one-​of-​a kind place that we don’t have too many of anymore. Today they were «smoking» burgers as one of the specials ($ 9 including fries and drink). I was going to get a burger anyhow, so I thought I’d try this since they don’t do it too often. The fries are cut in house and are some of the best I’ve ever had. Hot and crispy. Before my burger came out, I was offered a sample of their chicken salad, and it is really good.
My burger was very good, but I think would have rather had it grilled either on a grill or on the griddle. The smoking effect maybe better for ribs. Also, that burger looked like it was not hand pattied. Now perhaps they put it into a mold, but the best burgers are those that are irregularly shaped and loosely packed. I’m fairly sure this one was stamped by a machine — a disappointment. Burgers are always better, also, when the bun is buttered and grilled a bit. It was plated beautifully with all the toppings arranged neatly. It is a good burger, but not anywhere as good as J&D Quick Stop or Tremont Tavern. Or even Kevin Brown.
Other items on the menu looked very, very good. They are probably better than the burger, which means they are excellent. Service could not have been any friendlier or attentive.

Best Tuna and Chicken Salad in Tennessee. A side of Homemade fries are great for sharing. It’s no wonder Marsha has been in business for 16 years. She’s killing it.

Try the Cheesburger salad and ask for some blue cheese for dressing. The best ever! You want find this salad on anyone’s menu downtown Chattanooga. Hand cut fries are excellent!

Great, hole in the wall dinner kind of place. I stop by for quick lunch by myself at their counter seat and felt pretty comfortable :) They serve Fresh Cut French Fries, so make sure you try them. So good!
BTW this Unilocal map will take you wrong place! Just go find the big liquor store on Brainerd Rd (intersection near Moore rd), they are the same building.

Visited Marsha’s recently and wow. They’ve completely remodeled the place. The food is still excellent, but there is a totally different feel. New paint job, trendy lighting and décor. It’s gone from dive-​bar to family-​friendly eatery. What’s more — they told me the change was due to what they’d read on Unilocal.Feels good to make a difference.
Still the best chicken salad in town.
