I would give a 3.5 if possible. The poor robotic order taker needs to take breathe in between, white or wheat; onions, peppers, mayo and mustard. I understood her but put some emotions into it, I felt like she was reading a flowchart. If yes then ask this, if no ask this; I am ordering a sandwich not picking out a spouse. I do like the selection of hot sauces. I stick with 7 – 8’s since the black 10 of ’11 incident. Do not, I repeat do not fool with a black hot sauce. My stomach hurt and I ate two bites of my sandwich. The sandwich was hot, fresh and tasty just too robotic.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing when it comes to craving a hot fresh sub. They have plenty of options and allow you to customize your sub. The staff are always friendly and working to keep the lobby clean. They take your name and let you sit when your food is ready they bring it to your table. They also have a free style fountain which are always awesome.

Firehouse Subs should not be compared to other sub chains. Firehouse is in a league of their own when it comes to quality, diversity, and price. This place deserves two and half stars when you average out the great sub sandwich and the nervous interactions of the employees. First of all, this location is a located in a small strip mall that takes some careful navigation. One you you make it the parking lot and head into the Firehouse themed joint you are safe. Step up the order taker, make your order, and fill your drink at the futuristic Coke Freestyle Machine and choose your flavor from 120 offerings. Secondly, I ordered the in-house specialty sub with brisket, cheese, and barbecue sauce. The in-store roasted tender brisket was shaved as thinly as possible and very robust in flavor. The only drawback was the amount of bread in proportion to the meat… I wish they would pile it on instead of just teasing the diner. You can double the meat for an additional charge… I will try it sometime soon. However, this sandwich combo with drink and chips already adds to $ 9.16…which is expensive for such a meal. Lastly, there were three people working. Firehouse Subs presents itself as big on personality on commercials and I expected the same in the store. The cashier was shy and robotic and not really helpful when asking for suggestions to narrow down the menu. The two other employees were busy making subs behind the counter. It appears that the one who makes your sandwich comes out from behind the counter and calls the diner’s name. The experience was repeated around ten times while I was in the store. The«name caller» was difficult to understand because of being very quiet and mumbling the name. Once the diner understood their name(after repeated quiet mumbled attempts) it was an awkward transition… does the diner get up and meet the employee midstore to take his or her food or stay seated and be served? It was comical and uncomfortable at the same time. I suggest the name calling employee call out names with clarity and then confidently take the food to the table. Even better, create order numbers and put them on fire helmets and the customer can place them on the table allowing the server to deliver the food to the table without having to have any people skills. Firehouse is good stuff… take your wallet and get ready for a great sandwich and fun experience playing with the Coke Freestyle and watching customer interactions.
