Chattz on Market

Great local coffee shop, friendly staff. I buy coffee at least 2 – 3 times a week and the girls that work in the morning are great! Delicious chai! Much better than Starbucks in my opinion!

Day 2 of Unilocaling my way through Chattanooga and found this great coffee shop. I had a medium roast coffee and a toasted slice of pumpkin bread. oh my was it good. They roast their own coffee. You can so tell a difference in a coffee shop that does this extra step I did not try this but they were packaging warm, just made granola bars as I ordered my coffee… they looked amazing.

I took down my old review on this place. As I said, we had terrible service here and I complained to management. Got a call from GM — really nice and concerned — saying he got a different story from the employee as far as what time we arrived. We got there at 11:30 am and they close at 1 pm on Saturday, so the guy was not going to brew more coffee. The guy says we got there closer to closing time — not true. But the main thing with this guy was his rudeness, which we all agreed on. If I had been the GM, I would have offered a free cup of coffee on our next visit. He said he was more concerned with getting the customer service issue straightened out but that he would give us one. We rarely accept freebies, and would not accept this since we had to mention it. But almost always, when a place completely screws up, as was the case this time, an eatery offers a return visit on the house. It shows they care when they offer.
The problem here (besides the guy working) is their policy of brewing a new pot of coffee. I mean, how much can it cost? With the amount of beans they buy, maybe a dollar? We wouldn’t ask to brew a new pot with 30 minutes to closing time. But if you are open for another hour, you need to brew one. Sorry.
Anyhow, just a strange experience. And the GM was so caring, I kept waiting for him to say, «Hey, sorry for your bad experience. Next time you come in, have a cup on us.» But he never said that. Things like this usually want to make me go elsewhere, but we actually went to their new place at the climbing wall building and were impressed. Five stars for the coffee plus one star for everything else divided by two equals three stars.

I’m in the process of relocating to Chattanooga and have fallen under the spell of Chattz. For a downtown location, the coffee prices are surprisingly affordable, given the location, ant to my taste buds, the coffee has a nice rich flavor without tasting burnt. On a trip in over the weekend, I was sort of dismayed to find out that they didn’t brew coffee on Saturday, but the very nice man behind the counter made me an Americano in order to quench my desperate need for caffeine. I was very grateful for that, let me tell you!
Stop in if you get a chance. I promise you’ll be glad you did.

Great place for an after movie drink, coffee and chocolate!!! The chocolates are from a local chocolate maker… make sure you try the peanut butter Bön Bön and the Chattanooga Whisky Chocolate!

Stepped in here to get a break from the rain this past Monday! Fell into a fabulous little place. Reminded me of a coffee shop I used to work at, in my small little town in Ohio.
I live in Columbus, so I have access to homegrown places, which I have experienced. With that being said. Chattz is top notch. Their caramel machhiato was the best I’ve ever had.
I was bummed to not get another before I left on Tuesday (y’all are not open at 8am?).

Amazing coffee, friendly service!

What a completely quaint and fabulous coffee shop! I grew up in Seattle and can’t often find coffee or a place to drink it that really make me feel at home. Chattz is everything I could hope for — super warm and professional staff, a sweet space that blends cozy with tons of natural light, and absolutely delicious coffee. If I lived in Chattanooga, I’d be here every single day.

a great local coffee shop near the aquarium. we stopped by on our walk from our hotel (the chattanoogan) and enjoyed it way more than my city slicker heart thought could a coffee shop in chart-​town.
i ordered a soy milk, pumpkin spice chai, and loved it. we also had the last slice of pumpkin bread, gobbled it – no wonder there was only one slice left at 10 a.m. :)

While I am a fan of a green straw, my little espresso bean heart belongs to local coffee shops.
Just when I had given up on mint lattes, Chattz proved me wrong. I’ve had many mint coffees and every time the syrup has an odd spearmint bite that burns my throat.
The baristas here makes a creamy mint latte with a fluffy light foam on top that makes me wish I was a local.
Chattz has plenty of window seats, fresh baked goods and relaxing music.
Don’t be surprised if you walk in for a to-​go cup and end up staying over an hour like I did.

If I lived here, I’d be here every day. Exactly what I hope a coffee shop will be. Fantastic drinks, friendly service, great pastries, warm environment, convenient.

Great place! Two floors with a spiral stairway and a very pretty patio on the second floor looking down on the street. I got a chicken/​cheese sandwich with fries. Delicious food, quick service. You should try it!

Quite simply the best roasted coffee in Chattanooga and the baristas are wizards with steaming the milk.

They are definitely not closed as I treat myself to a afternoon mocha 2 – 3 days a week from here. They have a great sit down, chat with a friend atmosphere. Free Wi-​fi and friendly wait staff round out the appeal of this coffee shop.
