Dr. Kotkin might be personable and well trained but he’s not professional. After treating my two sons for 10 years he got his feelings hurt when I mentioned, at the prodding of my orthodontist’s office, that he left some staining on my son’s teeth. My boys have difficult teeth to clean so I take them on average 4 times a year, at $ 215/cleaning, to help manage the situation. I had taken my son for an extra cleaning the day before he got his spacers for his braces. Dr. Kotkin is fond of telling stories about his kids while working on his patients. He joked that day that he wouldn’t want my son’s orthodontist to get upset that he didn’t do a good job cleaning because he spent so much time telling stories. At the orthodontist the next day, there was obvious staining on my son’s teeth that the nurse quickly removed. I called Dr. Kotkin to mention that perhaps next time he could focus more on the cleaning and less on the story telling. The next day he had a staff member call me to say it was time for my boys to move on. They were no longer welcome at his practice. I asked for Dr. Kotkin to call himself if he was going to «fire» us from his practice. He basically said his feelings were hurt. I found this so childish and unprofessional. If you think you may want to communicate a valid criticism about the care your child is going to get while being treated by their dentist, then Dr. Kotkin isn’t for you.

Great staff, very courteous and child friendly. It’s a shame that they don’t do the insurance for you, then they would be more than perfect!

This place has the bells and whistles of a kid friendly place… got the fish tank, books, toys and colorful posters in the lobby. If only they could add a flat screen tv on the wall. My daughter got suckered in as soon she sets foot at this place. Going for the cleaning, they make it fun for the child as they lay on a comfy chair. The dental assistants are helpful of explaining to the child what they use, what it is for and the child gets to touch the equipment. The child also chooses from a menu of say 12 flavors to choose from… lucky them… for the adults we get the standard mint. At the end of the cleaning, they get a goodie bag of toothpaste, toothbrush, stickers and 2 golden coins to slot into these toy dispensers. The kids absolutely love these as it gives them a choice. My daughter likes the«younger» assistant and wasn’t crazy about the older one. Howard is perceptive and empathetic with the kids. He checks the teeth efficiently as a kid doesn’t have alot of patience of keeping their mouths open wide. After the visit, my 4 year old daughter says the guy and lady are pretty nice. So thumbs up for them although they are just a notch pricey. oh one more thing. .they don’t run the insurance for you, so you would have to fill out your forms and submit them on your own
