We stopped here on June 162015, while traveling through for lunch.(Two kids, 9&10, my husband, and I). Two of us had the lunch buffet which was $ 8.95(.75 X age for kids). The buffet had a basic salad bar, soup, chicken lasagna and pizza. All tasted homemade and fresh. My 9 year old daughter had the kid’s meal with ribs; they were delicious-fall of the bone tender. My husband had the«Chosen Valley» burger which was deluxe and very good. Fries were super crispy and«great» in his words. Kids each got a homemade cookie with their meals for dessert. At first glance I thought the prices were a bit high for a little town café but the variety and quality was totally worth the cost. I would stop here again.

If you remember the 7th Rib down in Racine(south of Stewartville) you will know the food at this place. The ribs, chicken & fish are all great… amongst many other things to eat. Don’t forget the steak soup. It’s not fancy, it’s casual, but good food doesn’t have to be fancy. Check it out… it’s worth the trip.

Prime rib melts in your mouth. Warm, small-town feel with good service! My husband liked the pickled herring on the salad bar!

Our very first visit here and EVERYTHING was tremendous! It’s nice when you get out of town, go to a nicer rest. and NOTHAVE to dress up. The people in this town know where the goods are, and it’s the only place that everyone told us about when we came into town. It’s in Chatfield, MN. Great specials! On a Sat. night the special was Alaskan King Crab legs, and Steak for $ 17.95. It was done to perfection, and the sides were delicious! It was packed with people… I would make a reservation if you can. Everyone from Farmer Frank & his whole family to the banker having dinner with clients. Did I happen to mention I wore jeans and a blouse and felt right at home??? I love that! We’ll be back!
