Food food food and MORE food! America at its finest! There are endless options and all of the food is tasty. If you’re expecting gourmet, it isn’t here. The food is good though and filling and you have so many options to choose from (and kids LOVE the desserts and chocolate fountain)! I go here maybe once every few years because I’m usually looking for a more culinary experience vs glutton fest! If you like food and LOTS of it, this is your place!

out of curiosity, we came to eat here. i have fond memories of the olé country buffet and thought this was going to be a similar experience, but not the case
the buffet
salad bar: not very fresh appearing, also not as much variety as that i have seen at other such buffets
entrée bar:
here are some things we enjoyed: jumbo fried shrimp, pork ribs, mashed potatoes
pretty much every thing else was terrible or imitation crab or canned. many of the dishes either had no flavor whatsoever or were too salty
dessert: most of the cakes were dry and bland. they had a cool chocolate fountain to dip tasty treats (marshmellows etc.)

overall: glad i tried it, dont recommend it unless you are that hungry and really dont want to eat a PBJ sandwich instead

What a great place to have American style buffet. Just tried it and was amazingly surprised by all the dishes they offered; I couldn’t save room for the desserts, unfortunately. Moreover, their price is hard, if not impossible, to beat; my compliment for the discount they offered to seniors. Granted, some of their fruits were not ripe, but acceptable. Their services also was superb. I like their Motto «…overwhelmingly satisfied…». I have not given out five star rating for a restaurant in a long time and this place definitely deserves it. Only thing that the management can improve is not to overly multi-​tasking the person who seating customers because we had to wait a while for her to come back to seat us, while she was all over the place.

I love buffets, especially ones with a lot of options like Wood Grill. I also hate buffets because of this-​I just want to try everything!

Wood Grill Buffet is probably the best chain buffet I have had yet. There is a little bit of everything, and all of the food tastes good and has flavor. There’s a nice variety of meats, hot and cold sides, a salad bar, and a plentiful dessert bar to satisfy your sweet tooth.
We came on a Sunday around 2 and it was quite busy and the two of us had a 20 minute wait, but it was worth it! The establishment was very clean unlike many buffets. You can also get a take home box that they charge you for by the pound-​a much better idea than paying for a whole box when you only want to take a piece of dessert.

I really wish we had a Wood Grill Buffet closer to us in Fredericksburg-​we need more good buffets like it in our area!

For a good old country buffet, this is the place to go. They only serve breakfast foods on weekends before 1030am (or 11, I don’t remember), other than that it’s hearty lunch buffets. They have the typical American buffet foods, and they’re constantly busy that the food is usually refilled with freshly cooked foods. Can’t go wrong here unless you can’t eat more than 2 plates, then it’s a waste of money. I do have to mention their dessert bar… So many different types of pies, usually 2 cobblers, ice cream and cakes. Service was always refilling drinks and taking old dishes away.

Buffet thats good quality food is a change. I had a beautiful med rare steak and a grilled pork chop that were both better than i have had at supposed steak houses. we have eaten here 2 times and both the wait staff was extremly friendly and helpful. i made sure to tip as if it was a full service restaurant they were such a pleasure to deal with. salad was fresh, yeasty rolls soft and hot dessert bar wasa large selection of pies and a few cakes. they do have a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit and things to dip (i tend to avoid these) fruit was pleatiful and the hushpuppies a joy wish i didn’t live 9 hours from this gem i would make it a regular stop
oh one more thing that sets them apart is if you get something that is fried it tastes like what it is not like the average buffet where all frieded stuff tastes exactly the same very fresh oil and i amguessing they fry their fish and other things in different friers

I am giving this rating based on the food and service. I love how the Salad Bar has cold plates. Putting salad on warm plates is disgusting. The Salad Bar had a wide array of toppings, and all of the food was good (the ribs were not very good but there was plenty of other options). What made it top notch was our server — he was on top of his game and should be used as a training example. All in all a great experience.
People deduct for the other patrons. I see disgusting people and behavior at buffets. This is not the fault of Wood Grill. I think restaurant management feels like they are powerless and if they tried to cut down on behavior, entitled people would complain and corporate would come down on them. I think this is why places like Golden Corral are overrun with little kids screaming and running around.

All I can say is look out Golden Corral! This was by far the BEST buffet I’ve ever been to. They had everything from fried shrimp and steak to meat loaf and macaroni and cheese. Great comfort foods. Very clean and friendly wait staff. Next time I’m in Charlottesville I’ll be back here.

As buffets go, this is a 4! Has Corral beat handily.
Everything is extremely fresh. Wait staff are super friendly and always fills up your beverage glass quickly!
Grilled steak was tender and seasoned well
Fried chicken, meatloaf, grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, baked potato, veggies all excellent
Deserts are great. Nice chocolate fountain
For $ 15, a great value!

Excellent food, juicy fried chicken, tasty ribs, cheesy potatoes… everything I tried was good. Not only good but hot. My only suggestion is to put some labels out… for example I couldn’t tell how the steaks were cooked (medium, rare…).
This place was busy so come early with your appetite.

It’s really hard to rate this place but I’ve been enough times to say it’s a solid 3star joint. It’s nothing to add to a bucket list, there are many other places to visit first, and it’s not going to be on anyone’s TV show as a «must visit.» There is a lot of variety at a fair price if you’re hungry and not craving anything in particular.
It seems to be consistently busy, which is a good sign and usually means everything is going to be fresh. Service is ok, they’re hustling and they will keep your glasses full!
Nutshell: I’ll be back, but not on date night.

Love this place!
Steak, cheese, Tomatoes, deserts all the good stuff. It is like the buffets you see on the TV advertisements only not a disappointment when you arrive unlike the others.
It is not a fine dinning experience and is the classic buffet style but it has everything and it is all fresh and well prepared. I would go there every night if I could.
If you are looking for something simple and cost effective this is the place to go.

One of the best buffets I have ever been to, lots of fresh food, nothing tasted old or stale. Chef’s were cooking right in front of you while you serve yourself, great selection, great salad bar, and amazing dessert! Similar to golden corral but 100% better quality!

The table was sticky and the melted cheese did not taste good and the fish was soaked in grease. But overall it was a good visit. My son said that the hamburgers were good. Our waitress Patricia was also good.
I think the reason why it wasn’t a great visit was do to the time of day. They might of had a hard time with the crowd.

We have been here several times. It’s the perfect place for when the family can’t agree where to go! Their meats are really good and their fresh rolls are the best! My only complaint is that they are very slow on refills and I sometimes have to walk my cup to the drinks area and ask myself. The staff have always been nice though. The place is clean and even when it’s packed it seems to run efficiently.

Very good food with lots of variety. The only thing we didn’t like was the ribs (fake smoky flavor) and the grilled chicken which tasted good but was dry. All hot food was piping hot and well stocked, even on a busy late Friday night.

I’ve been three times now and have been pleasantly surprised each time. I didn’t really expect much since it’s such a big buffet, but I have my favorites already. The broccoli casserole is really good, as is the baked spaghetti. Pizza crust was too hard to be enjoyable. My husband loves the wide selection of meats — I don’t think they make any money off him… lol. There’s still plenty of things for me to try so I’m looking forward to going back. I took off a star because I find the desserts to be underwhelming.
Service is efficient and friendly. We go during off-​times to avoid waiting for a table — doesn’t matter when you go though, it’s always pretty well packed.

This place is a real winner. Makes me think about my grandmom’s cooking. Makes me think that some old folks are in the back Cookin up a storm. They have fried fish and chicken piled high on the buffet along with steak mashed potatoes. It’s your typical country food buffet, but they do a nice job with perfect seasoned… collard greens, sweet potatoes pizza… just good eating. It’s the kind of place when you look around and see everybody over 200 lbs… and you say to yourself… I really shouldn’t be here but the food is so good that you have to stop in every time just to get a taste of what’s cooking. It very reasonable priced and they keep the buffet area very clean. The staff is friendly with the southern hospitality vibe…
