Shull’s Wrecker and Repair

We broke down near Panera Bread in Barracks road shopping center when wrecker was called for a tow to Finley’s service center which was three blocks away. It took a long time for the tow truck to get to our car as the tow truck driver went to another Panera Bread in another part of Charlottesville. Once he got to our car he was professional, pleasant and got our car towed to the service center in short order. Overall– except for the long wait– the service was very good.

Update — They over tightened the valve cover gasket and caused a leak. I was shown by a mechanic. The hits just keep on coming with this place.

Worst experience possible from a customer point of view. The individual working on Sunday morning July 12^th was not only a total liar, he went out of his way to try and make his customer (read: me) and his customer’s friend as miserable as possible for no reason whatsoever. Even the Albemarle County police officers that *he* called said he was a lying P.O.S. That fact alone should tell you all you need to know. I wouldn’t use this business again if you held a gun to my head. This is a –2 star business. Do yourself a huge favor and stay as far away as possible! There are much better wrecker/​repair places in C’ville…

Front desk guy was rude aggressive and a liar. Under no circumstances should you use these guys unless you want to do a self hating tour of the worst businesses in Charlottesville.

Over the ~35+ years I’ve lived in this neighborhood, I’ve had to request tows ~8 times in C’ville. When I needed a tow recently under testy circumstances, these folks were the best. I got them by the luck of the draw from my insurance company, but they were professional, courteous, brought excellent equipment (dolly), arrived pretty damn quickly, and charged good rates… I got to them through my insurance company, but folks can call the company directly, I’m pretty sure. Although I hope I won’t need it, this company deserves repeat business. I know whom to call for help.

I’ve used Shulls three times. The first two times I was served by a gentleman called Mike who was very professional. He picked and delivered the car safely and in good time. The third time a gentleman called Cord served me. We had problems from the start. I requested a towing truck that would lift the whole car but he showed up with one that carried only one end. When I protested he argued with me and said the car would be ok. Fine. I agreed and he proceeded to drive the car to the destination. He was very aggressive when driving and I had to hoot to tell him to slow down because my car was scratching the road. When we got to the destination and he was very aggressive with the lift when unloading the car and scratched the bottom of the rear bumper. When I protested he argued with me and denied the damage and said it was my word against his and that he had more important customers. He was extremely rude and I let him know that I didn’t appreciate the service or his tone. This is the last time I use their service. I wish Mike would have been there
