We found this place by accident. It’s great. Love the papusas! Really unique and it’s nice to have Salvadoran food in Charlottesville.

Great value and food was good. Definitely no Chinese or Asian food on the menu though.

Great Salvadoran food. Their yuca frita con chicarron(fried cassava root with pork) is amazing, as are their papusas(I got the beans and cheese) and tamales. Also, this is a great place to get my fix of horchata(Central American drink). Maybe they used to do Chinese food(like reviewers below mention), but I was there for the Central American cuisine. Nice owners, too. Very reasonably priced.

Good food at good prices! While the menu is not as large as other restaurants in the area, we’ve been pleased with the offerings here each time we’ve eaten here. Authentic Salvadoran food and the Chinese food is pretty good too!

Mi Canton doesn’t have many vegetarian options on the menu, but you can ask for tofu, which is apparently on a secret menu. The Chinese tofu and vegetables with fried rice on the side was a GREAT deal at $ 5.75. Enough for two meals for me. I’ve also tried bean/cheese pupusas, which are mighty tasty and again a great deal at only $ 1.75. I also recommend the horchata, even though I’m not usually a sweet drink kinda person. But they’ve got me hooked on it now!

An interesting Mexican/Chinese hybrid. Well, not even a hybrid, as there is no mixing, it’s just two restaurants in one. The new owners learned the recipes from the former owners of the outgoing Chinese place. I give it a solid 3 stars on the Chinese food; at least 3 stars for the pupusas, but can’t speak to the rest of their Mexican menu. Very affordable lunch options(mostly $ 5.25 each) and it’s nice to be able to mix-and-match from the menu. Oh: unless you have consumed coffee in Central America and you like it(I think it has chicory or another roasted element to it), do *not* get coffee here. Try the horchata instead.
