K Nails

I have been going to the location on Pantops for about 2 years and previously have had no complaints. The young lady who greeted me did not crack a smile and seemed completely disinterested in being there. I honestly had an impulse to walk out her attitude was so bad. I had made an appointment and waited for 20 minutes and had to get up ask what was going on. There was no communication. Perhaps somebody could train the staff to properly greet their clients and explain to them if they are running behind. The actual service I received was fine but I won’t be going back as I like to spend my money where people are actually happy to see me.

I’ve been here a few times before for pedicures and it’s not bad but nothing special. But that’s not what makes me review today.
Went in today to get my eyebrows waxed since my normal place was closed. It took the lady longer than I’ve ever had an eyebrow wax take. And they look AWFUL. So upsetting because there isn’t a thing I can do about it now. I left the place wondering if they looked even and it just got worse as the day went on. I was told to go back and complain, they’re so bad. Seriously, there are so many other choices for nail salons, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

We made appointments ahead of time and got there on time and waited for about 20 minutes, not a big deal. During that time period 3 other people came in after us and didn’t have appointments. After about 35 minutes of waiting they called one of the ladies over and put her in the chair before us! I was about to say something to the lady but figured that there must be some sort of reason and to be completely honest I wasnt in the mood to get into, so I let it go. Then… 10 minutes later (45 minutes after our scheduled appointment time) the other 2 ladies got seated before we did! Finally at that point I was furious and walked up and said something to the man and he was rude and told us that our seats were not ready yet. Really?! This place has the worst customer service ever– I would NEVER return. There are lots of great places for a mani/​pedi and I would reccomend Holly’s which is right up the street. DO NOT GO HERE!

This Place is Immaculate!
Been here several times and always pleased. In the first place, this place is CLEAN. (If you want a good case of the heebie-​jeebies, go to the salon on down Rt. 29, across from iHop — that place is downright nasty.) It’s refreshing to walk into a nail salon and not be afraid to stick your feet into the water. The people here have always been pleasant and attentive and I think that they do a good job. Once, I left my wedding band and was so afraid that I would never see it again. I called and the owner said that he had it and would hold it for me. When I picked up the ring, he refused to take any money from me. I can’t think of anything negative to say about this place.

OK. This… was a very weird experience. First of all, it was $ 35 for a shellac manicure — too much. But I was visiting a friend and this place seemed nice and was open.
But that wasn’t the weird part.
My friend was sitting next to me as I got my nails done and was talking to me about a tattoo she wanted done. Suddenly, the guy doing my nails says that he is getting a tattoo. I don’t mind at all chatting with whoever does my nails — it’s usually nice. But…
He then voluntarily says, «It’s my ex’s name.»
«Oh…» (I mean, how do you even fake respond to that as if it’s not really weird… to anyone let alone a stranger?)
Then he starts talking about how she just broke up with him. And he honestly looks like he’s about to lose it right then and there. Like about to cry. And I felt bad, I’m human you know, but this was not what I signed up for.
Then he tells me about how she lives in Louisiana. Then he says she’s in high school (?!).
I was trapped. I mean, he had my HANDS.
Then he says he is going to go visit her. And that she says he works too much. Then he says he’s only lived here for two weeks. Then he says his best friend’s mom is dying, and that he’s like a son to her.
Then when his coworker comes by he says to her, «I just want to go smoke!»
Well excuse me. I’m sorry to inconvenience you.
Also, they were out of the color I wanted, which was the most boring color ever. It was sorta obnoxious, but whatever. He did a good job shaping. Altogether, the manicure itself looks good.
But based on how much initial psychiatric consultations cost, plus what I paid for my manicure, I think I’m owed an eyebrow wax and two mani-​pedis (hot stone and shellac). Then we could call it even.
EDIT: The owner/​manager though seemed VERY nice. I think my experience would have been great had he done my nails. He was joking with me a little as I waited and seemed very attentive to everyone in the salon.

I needed a last minute pedicure and this was the closest salon, so I decided to try it. I was the first one in the door and there was one lady working. She was less than pleasant. She seemed as though she’d rather be anywhere but at work. I had to ask her, twice, to go back and cut one of my nails evenly. The water in the foot bath was cold. Not a fan, won’t be returning.

The service here is very slow. I waited in the spa pedicure for 30 minutes before they came over. It seemed as though the customers were used to this so it didn’t look like it bothered anyone. The pedicure itself was okay except that the lady doing my nails answered her cell phone and worked at snail speed. My two other friends got a pedi and eyebrow wax before I was even done. The massage was really more like a rub. The paraffin wax was really nice but the whole experience was not relaxing and I felt I needed to pay attention to her the whole time. I came in with the intention of getting a mani and pedi but because it took so long I couldn’t get a pedi. Total time for one pedicure: an hour and a half.
