This CVS is right in the middle of pedestrian mall downtown which is convenient if you need to run in to pick up something. We visited this location twice while in Charlottesville picking up things we had forgotten. It’s clean and the workers were friendly and helpful. The lines moved quickly and they always brought up more cashiers if the lines got too long.

Girlfriend and I brought a small item at this CVS store during our vacation. Store manager(white male, glasses, short sleeve dress shirt and tie) was working cashier at photography area. He asked if we wanted a bag. We said yes — he gave us a small bag. I asked for the bigger bag — was planning to use to store my dirty laundry back at hotel. He asked us if we planned coming back to store if he gave us bigger back. I am not sure if this store has shoplifting issues but this was very insulting suggestion to any customers. We both were very offended. Both of us are established professionals in our late 20s but appears younger for our age. We will not shop at CVS again — will take our business to Walgreen or RiteAid.

Christ, hire more staff. The store is narrow and is set up to keep a line of 20+ people at the register, but that doesn’t mean they should.

Ok, downtown residents– Charlottesville does not have a centrally located grocery store. If your car is of the invisible variety, this CVS can provide you with a competent pharmacy, M&Ms of many varieties, milk of a few varieties(I have seen people buy it, but the phrase«CVS milk» doesn’t really instill confidence in me), earplugs, and long, slow lines at the registers. Unfortunately, they do not have soy milk(and you call yourself a hippie town??), quality dog toys, baking sheets, or good hours. They close at something ridiculous on Sundays, I think 6, but don’t quote me. Plus they are overpriced in the way that all downtown-area grocery-type convenience stores are. All I can recommend is, pick up the weekly circular for savings.
