Not a great Chipotle experience: –Very small portions(burrito bowl and tacos) –Out of brown rice, fajita vegetables, and lettuce –Rude staff

I mean Chipotle is good everywhere and this is no exception. Try to come around 11:30 if you are eating lunch and want to beat the rush.

Surprisingly, the only time I have ever eaten Chipotle in my life has been once at this location in the Barracks Rd. shopping center. Call me crazy, but I just cannot hop on the Chipotle bandwagon and I don’t understand all the hype about it. When I went, the line was not too bad, however I have driven past countless times and I have seen the line stretching out the door! With so many better places for Mexican-style food, I’m not sure why so many people settle for this place. The overall appearance of both the outside and inside of this Chipotle location is very clean and modern. All interactions I saw between customer and employee(and my personal experience as well) was very professional and pleasant. Not only did the employees seem to understand what they were doing and have a nice«flow» to their duties(which is great to watch), they all seemed to be enjoying the work they were doing. I had no idea what to get, so I just got a burrito bowl(is that what they are called?) with chicken and a few other«fancy» add-ons and additions. The line moves very quickly, which is a plus for anyone in a rush to get their food and bolt out the door back to work. Instead of taking my food back home, I decided to dine in, as I think the food is supposed to be enjoyed as hot and fresh as possible — who knows how cold it would have gotten in that horrible mid-afternoon traffic that is Emmett Street/29?! The dining area was very clean, and the table I chose to sit down at had recently been cleaned and was ready to feast on! As stated in my opening statement, I really don’t get what the hype is about and how so many people are obsessed with this place. The food was simply«ok» — nothing really special about it. Maybe I just didn’t get the right form of burrito, or the right combination of ingredients to make it «pop». However, the portion size was quite generous considering the price, which earned it some extra redemption points. The meal did what every meal is supposed to do — killed my hunger. It just lacked that bonus we all enjoy with a meal which is obviously having our tastebuds treated. I didn’t get E. coli from this Chipotle location, which is good considering a lot of people all over the country are not lucky enough to make that same statement. That’s not to say that there was not a nuclear blast that occurred in my bathroom a few hours later, however that is worthy of a whole other write up! :-) The only reason why I’m not giving this Chipotle location a flawless 5⁄5 is simply due to the fact that I wasn’t a fan of the food. Other than my fondness(or lack thereof) the food, my dining experience was excellent. This Chipotle location is an example of what all quality fast food restaurant locations should strive to mirror. In the near future, maybe I’ll give it a second chance to shoot for that perfect 5⁄5 that everyone wants to have.

Very very very nice place. Enjoyed very much… Delicious and yummy in my tummy. Very fast and hard working soldiers. Tommy was a nice guy and wrapped my burrito very peacefully. All these bad comments are bs. Compared to the other chipotles, this is very pleasing and delicious. The black beans are my favorite. One thing I also find very nice is the cheese. THECHEESEISGREATANDFITSWELLINMYSTOMACH. I love it!!! McDonalds is crap compared to this festivity. I could eat burritos every day of my life. Including Christmas. I would buy burritos to put the tree. Even if it was Christmas because it was. CHIPOTLECHIPOTLECHIPOTLE! What I got was the famous Gavin burrito, Gavin that made Chipotle, he’s very very nice. He’s dating my grandma. He gives free burritos and other stuff to undocumented immigrants. #fivestars #yummyinmytummy #greatfood #gobros

As a hard-working teacher, I appreciate our local businesses who honor our profession and provide discounts or promotions for teacher appreciation week. I am extremely disappointed in Chipotle at Barracks for not honoring the Teacher Appreciation free burrito as they have done in the past. Three other teachers ahead of me inquired about the promotion and did receive a free burrito, but when I went up I was told they were not going to honor the promotion because it was Cinco de Mayo. I don’t think I can continue to support such a money-hungry corporation. I will take my business elsewhere in the future.

I honestly try not to complain about restaurants and always try to give the benefit of the doubt, but yesterday at this Chipotle was different. There are always always always long lines, no doubt about that. I was in a rush so I used the Chipotle app to order two burrito bowls to be picked up at 5pm. I ordered them at 2pm, so they had three hours to know that an order was coming in. I walked in the door and went to the counter at 5:01, and told a girl that I was there to pick up an online order. She asked what time my order was to be picked up and I told her 5pm. She then looked around and couldn’t find anything. So she went to the end of the line and came back and said they’re making it right now. Like I said, I am normally not one to complain but was a bit irritated when it took them 10 minutes to back two burrito bowls… and also when they were finished making them, they put them in a bag behind the register. I told the cashier that I needed my food, and she said«hold on» while she then went to process three other customers’ payments. I have ordered online multiple times at other locations before and they have had my food ready 5 minutes before I have scheduled it to be picked up for. There seemed to be no management visible for this staff. Very disappointed in this Chipotle experience.

Typical Chipotle(ie, generic tex mex burrito). This location is always extremely busy with a long line.

Don’t order online. Your food will be ice cold if it is even ready, or not ready at all. If you order more than one burrito, apparently the geniuses who work there will combine the two… You will get a burrito with half of what you ordered and half of what the other burrito was. Place is crowded with spoiled brat students which makes for the classic Charlottesville experience.

I really love chipotle and I love this location. They do a really good job and there’s usually a long line because everyone else apparently loves it too. I get a burrito bowl with corn tortillas on the side. They usually have local pork.

Heard about how great Chipotle was from friends who had already been over to the States so had to try it of course! Got the Burrito Bowl which was super tasty! Was a neat burrito filling salad with cilantro-lime rice, black beans, meat, guacamole, salsa, cheese and sour cream! I really liked it because it was like the subway line of choosing what you wanted and didn’t want in the bowl. It was also fresh ingredients and felt like ‘real food’ to me for the first time while in the States. Wholesome and fresh– which was great in the summer weather! Highly recommend. Definitely need to go back to sample more of their Mexican goodies! [Reliving my semester abroad at the University of Virginia]

In general I like chipotle, but this particular location consistently sucks at trimming their steak. My last burrito bowl had nothing but grisly fatty bites of steak, no actual chewable meat. Avoid getting the steak here if you can.

Chipotle is a 4 star Mexican fastfood chain restaurant and it will be 4 stars in every city you go to. It’s popular, tasty, fast, and convenient. They are always located in malls, close to colleges, or in busy areas. Overall, the concept of Chipotle is pretty simple. You decide if you want a bowl, burrito, tacos, or salad; then you go down the line and ask the workers to add the ingredients you want. They have pollo, carne, carnitas, and barbacoa for the meats. Fresh mild, medium, and hot salsas. Brown or white rice, black or pinto beans, an assorted mix of veggies, cheese, sour cream, and some killer guacamole. The price is about 7 — 8 bucks, but drinks and guacamole will add an additional 2 — 4 dollars to your final bill. The guacamole is an extra charge because it is really damn good. They also sell healthy drinks if you don’t feel like the regular fountain sodas. This Chipotle is located at a shopping area, so you can get your groceries, pastries, clothes and shoe shopping done on the same day. If you’re like me, and love to read, check out Barnes and Nobles right across the street. Yay! I’m a fan! Woot Woot!

You can never go wrong with Chipotle. There is only one Chipotle store in Charlottesville. Long lines are not uncommon during lunch/dinner. I love their food. It’s fresh, and organic. Guacamole is to die for. I always order online and then go pick it up. Saves me the pain of getting in the line :-)
