Well I did it… I cheated on Pinkberry and tried YoFruitty… and I’m sad to say I was just not very impressed. I had high hopes for this place! The outside looked fun and decorated and when I walked in I was greeted and offered samples right away. The set up is kinda funky, its a small space so when you walk right into the toppings and syrups and then the yogurt is in the back. Ugh…now I have to agree with the other review… NOT all yogurt is created equal! I was expecting the full, rich, creamy taste like I get at Pinkberry and I ended up with what is best expressed as icy water. I tried the coconut and strawberry, both of which were just not very flavorful. But I had fully committed to cheating to I decided to keep my fingers crossed with the toppings… and yet another disappointment. They had all the basics, like sprinkles, waffle cones, candy and granola… all just blah. The toppings did not look fresh and all of the fruit was in a syrup or jelly form… that is just not for me. I am used to fresh fruit and an abundance of options and I didn’t get that from here. Welp…looks like my cheating experience did not pay off. I was not impressed and do not see another visit in my future.

Went here last night for the first time and probably the last… unless I’m desperate. I won’t go into too much detail because the bottom line is that the yogurt tastes more like sugar ice. It is more icey than creamy and more sugary than naturally flavored. It wasn’t horrible but just not great. I tried the white chocolate mousse and it had great flavor but the consistency was more of an icey from 7 – 11. They did have a lot of toppings to choose from so that was good. They offered melted marshmallows as a topping and it was actually pretty yummy. The place is cute, quaint and close to Zapata’s and Bad Daddy’s in Ballantyne so they have the potential for greatness but they may want to work out the balance between the ice and cream. On another note, I also found it comical that the employee had to get the sample for me. I understand giving the small little cups out sparingly but I wasn’t expecting to have to give the guy my sample order. What was I going to do with that small little cup? I could only steal so much! Haha… it was just funny. Anyway, can’t say I recommend going here but if you are in the area and need a sweet complete then it will likely at least satisfy the craving.

I don’t know what they’re called, but YoFruitty has the little circular gummies that are juice filled with mango and strawberry flavors. They also have mochi pieces. I like coming here because they offer a much wider variety of toppings. The yogurt options are a tad bit limited and it seems like most of them are out of order when I go. Regardless, my favorite flavors, strawberry & cookies-n-crème, are always available– no complaints here! The joint itself is bursting with funky colors and edgy furniture. Definitely a good place to catch up with an old friend.

So in our quest to find a Dairy Queen, we stumbled upon YoFruitty. Having been in frozen yogurt shops with a similar concept(Pick your flavors of yogurt, add the toppings you want from the topping bar, pay by weight), I was fairly excited. The place smells funky, the frozen yogurt is icey and watery, not rich and creamy like other frozen yogurts I have had, and the one girl working there seemed more interested in her computer than the customers. The topping selection is good, but not enough to save this experience.
