I would give this place more stars if they had adequate staffing. It’s pretty common to come in here and see what I see: 6 people waiting to order drinks or buy bottles at the bar and 2 people who work here running around bussing tables or serving food, while the people wanting a drink at the bar have«that look» in their eyes.

Joining my dinner group for some drinks before the holidays at Vintner was a great idea. This was my first visit here, and I am definitely sad to say that. The location(size) can be deceiving from the front, but upon entering you will notice it is a lot larger than expected. The walls are covered in wine and beer, which can be bought to enjoy in the store or to take home. We arrived at 6:30 and gathered a few high tables. Between the 8 of us we definitely had a mix of beer and wine drinkers. From what I heard everyone enjoyed their choices, as I did. They have two chalkboards on the wall outlining the daily beers and wines by the glass. The only thing to note is you must walk to the bar to place your order, as there is not a «real» server checking on the tables. It is somewhat a bonus, especially for larger groups, as you can run your own tab, pay by the drink, etc. without a lot of confusion at the end of the night. After a while several of us decided to check out the menu. Our group ordered a variety of items, charcuterie, sandwich and flatbreads. All were great and I thought the prices were definitely comparable to other locations in the area. I had the chicken pesto pizza, which was so good! Vintner definitely impressed me and I will be sure to hit this spot again when I am in the area.

Came in to kill some time and work before my next appointment, of course with a glass or two of wine. Wasn’t greeted at all when I came in and wasn’t asked what I wanted or if I needed anything until I walked up to the bar. I appreciate that because I genuinely did not like the first glass of wine, they did not charge me, and brought me a glass of something I did love. I was never offered a mini or asked if I wanted anything else. I would have ordered something to eat had I’ve been asked. But I was already a little frustrated as I wasn’t even offered water. It took me forever to get my check, since the barista was busy doing a wine tasting with one of the vendors that had come in.

First off, it’s not a restaurant, it’s a store that serves food. That said, the food it pretty darn good. They have a nice selection of flatbreads and finger foods. The store has an excellent wine selection, available to drink in store for a $ 5 corking fee. This compares to a 100% markup at a restaurant so it’s a good deal. The tap list is always excellent and the bottle selection one of the best in Charlotte. You can pull any bottle from the fridge and drink it for no charge. They have live music on weekends too.

What an awesome idea this wine market has! I had no idea what I was walking into, but I was pleasantly surprised. My boyfriend and I decided to come here last minute because a friends dad was in town and his brothers band was playing at the market. First of all, awesome band! I’ll have to get the name so next time they play here you can mark it on your calendar! The name of this place pretty much says it all, this is a wine market! Wine everywhere, from everywhere, all over the place. I loooove wine so this was great! They also had beer which my boyfriend throughly enjoyed as well. Not only did they have drinks, but this«wine store» had delicious food also! The menu was fun and different! We ended up getting the pepperoni flatbread and nachos, both delicious and both something would go back and get again! I can’t wait to go back soon, especially on a Friday with live music!

This was my first time at Vintner. There are two things that are deceiving about Vintner. First off, it looks small from the outside but this store is in a corner space so the store gets bigger toward the back. The second thing that is deceiving here is the name. Vintner actually sells beer and has a great selection of bottled beer. They also have beer on tap… about 16 of them of various styles. There is plenty of seating — some at the bar, pub tables and regular tables. There’s a unique table around a pole as well. They also have a small food menu of apps, flatbreads and salads but I did not partake in the food. I came away really impressed with this place and could have done some major beer damage but I held myself back. However I will remember this in the future!

I have been here a number of times. Excellent wine and beer choices. The cheese selections and plates are so yummy. Very good hot appetizers. I do wish they had some desserts. The bartenders are knowledgeable and nice. I wish the seating was a bit cozier but overall a great experience.

Love to stop in for a bite and a few beers or glasses of wine. The board is always changing with new wines and beers on tap and the food is top notch. The best part is buying a bottle to take home.

A great place to enjoy the company of others with a glass of wine or a beer. A good selection and good appetizers too — I like the cheese plate, salami plate, and flatbreads(yes, we were hungry). The atmosphere is good though my biggest pet peeve is trying to order something — I have to bust through the people sitting at the bar and wave down someone to get service. Tip: order everything you need in one swoop so you don’t have to repeat this annoying process.

Great selection of wine and local beer. They have a good variety of beers on tap and wine by the glass. I would go that route. They have a «corking fee» for any bottle of wine purchased to drink there. And a similar fee for any beer can or bottle beer. The atmosphere is very relaxed. We like to go here on a Sunday afternoon especially when the weather is nice. The boyfriend will go into Tinder Box and pick up some cigars to smoke while we drink. This is a great place to grab a few drinks with friends. It’s also a great place to pick up some of those hard to find beverages.

Great place for a light dinner & a good wine or craft beer. Flatbread pizzas & cheese tray are good. Laid back atmosphere. Lots of wine by the bottle to choose from. Probably 15 – 20 by the glass to choose from. Lots of craft beer on draft, even more available in bottles, cans… This place has a good vibe we will be back whenever we are in the area.

For what they are trying to be, this place works. Don’t show up here expecting someone to wait on you. I wouldn’t have even realized they had food unless I saw some pictures and references on Unilocal. Its more like a craft beer place. You have to go to the bar, and order. I had to ask, «Do you serve food?» At which point they pulled out a menu from under the counter. They have an excellent selection of cheeses. The cheese plate comes with nuts, olives, grapes, grape jam, and crackers. That was awesome and the cheese was excellent. They have some good wines by the glass, and they have store full of unique wines if you want to just buy a bottle. Perhaps the complete surprise to me, was the great selection of on draft craft beer. Noda, Triple C, Sycamore, Wicked Weed, OMB, etc. They also have a huge selection of bottled craft beers. Lastly, we ordered a flat bread pizza, their«most popular one» according to the menu, and it was fantastic. Once you get your drink from the bar, you find a seat, and they bring the food out to you. That’s the most attention you are going to get. But the atmosphere is relaxed, clean, with great wine, craft beer, and solid cheese/flat breads. So, if you want a casual place to hang out for a drink in Arboretum area, I don’t think you are going to beat this place. Just don’t go here expecting to be waited on, or you’ll be disappointed.

Sit outside and enjoy the food and a cigar! Cool place with a variety of wine and craft beer. But you can sit out side and have a cigar… sold!

Despite seeing this place all the time I’ve never gone in. So when a chance came up to visit with friends I couldn’t pass it up. From the outside it doesn’t look large, but inside there are plenty of seats. We had to push a couple of tables together but the place was fairly empty for a Saturday afternoon. I ordered at the bar the $ 5 red special which was a Portuguese blend. It wasn’t bad, definitely worth $ 5. The next cheapest red was $ 8. They have food available although I didn’t get any. We sat there for around 2 hours always going up to the bar to order. Near the end a woman asked if we wanted refills which was a little strange. Where had she been this whole time? They have outdoor seating but with a cigar bar next door, it is filled with smoke.

I haven’t had their food yet, but their wine and beer selection is one of the best in Charlotte. THere is a nice little seating area, and a bar area where you can order beer and wine. They always have some good beer on tap and you can order a half pint. The beer selection is well organized. From normal craft stuff in the cooler to a selection dedicated to Belgians and sours. Def check it out if you are in the area.

We were going to Cinebarre, so we didn’t actually get anything, but it’s a very nice space! The bar is medium-sized with a TV. There are plenty of tables to sit at though. Lots of wine selections to buy the bottle and sit and enjoy and they also sell wine by the glass. It looks like the have food service, but we walked around for several minutes and stood at the bar, but I didn’t see any menus written out or laying around and no one was tending the bar the whole time we were there, so… Not sure what they offer or pricing. Would probably go back if we were in the area.

One of my favorite spots in Charlotte to share a beer or a bottle of wine with friends, or just to kick back after a long day at the office. Though it has hundreds of bottles to choose from, Vintner is SO much more than just a wine market. You can also get lost in their diverse selection of craft beers, including the nearly 20 they rotate on tap. And the appetizer selection, while not extensive, is enough to provide a tasty accompaniment to any drink. I absolutely LOVE that Vintner’s is just a short drive from us in South Charlotte, and plan to be back MANY times in the years ahead!

Don’t judge a book by its cover… I anticipated this«Wine Market» to be the type of place where you go in to buy a bottle or two and walk out. You can, but it’s really much more than that. Not really a true bar, it has a cult-like following as a neighborhood gem. ~10 tables. A few outside tables. Roughly 20 craft beers and ~10 wines by the glass available. Most of the time, you have to order from the bar and then sit back down(depending on how busy the serving crew may be). Staff are VERY knowledgeable re: wine/beer tastes and alcohol content. Witty and interactive but not pushy. I guess the part that impresses me most(besides the bar-like environment in a market), is the food. They have a flatbread that is phenomenal. Cheese plates are great. Just a fun neighborhood joint.

I’ve been to Vintner many times now, but for some reason haven’t Unilocaled about it yet. I’ve noticed the folks behind the bar favor their regular customers — meaning if you’re new, you’re not going to get service for a while. Even if you’re standing at the bar. This kind of irks me, but now that I’ve been enough times for them to recognize me, I think I’m moving up in their little world. But I don’t think any place should treat new people like that — service gets 3 stars. Now onto what I do like… it’s close to home, $ 5 glass of wine specials(red or white), great selection of draft beers(usually see the Charlotte breweries represented well), tons of choices by the bottle if you’re looking for something special. They also have food — the queso dip is amazing, the hummus equally delicious. We’ve tried the wings which I believe are from a local farm — they were on the smaller side, but tasty. They also have flatbreads and you can create your own cheese and/or meat board. They have seating inside at the bar, at some tables, a couple couches and they also have tables on the patio. But the sign says«Order at the bar only» — I think I’ve seen people getting table service before, but I’m sure they are the regulars ;-) Overall, I would give 3.5 stars if I could, but I’m going to round up since they are supporting local farms and breweries which I’m a big fan of!
