I was in Charlotte for business and my coworkers and I needed to pick up some wine since we were heading to another coworkers house for dinner. They don’t have a BevMo out in Charlotte so we had to Unilocal the nearest wine store, and ended up here. The store is located in a busy shopping center with other stores and restaurants but this seemed to be the main store of the plaza. Parking is plenty. The store itself is fairly large with many aisles full of wines and beer, and even a cheese and cracker section to go with your wine. There’s also a cold wine and beer section in case you are consuming your drink after your visit. No hard liquor though unfortunately(boo). It’s Total Wine & More — just wish the«more» included hard liquor as well. Great location if you need to pick up beer and wine though.

This is one of the places that I like up in the University City area. The board walk is getting too crowded and the constructions will take forever so a small get together or drinking and relaxing at home made more sense before I completely transitioned to Uptown life. Total Wine & More staff are knowledgeable. The last time I went was to get a Burly or a Patz & Hall, which are some of my favorite California wines. They didn’t have the exact vintage I was looking for but hey, the guy led me right to it. I mean, to me, that says a lot. But yes, the true test is when you DON’T know what you want. I think it was sometime last year — I went there looking for a gift and the employee there took her time and helped me pick a good one fit for the occasion. I’m not saying it’s like the best in the world. But it’s good. You know what I’m saying.

Total Wine & More is great for wine and beer enthusiasts. They definitely have a selection that can’t be matched by any other retailer. I am from Upstate NY and love to be able to get wines from the Finger Lakes region at this store whenever I am craving that taste of home. Obviously they have tons of other great wines from all over the world as well. The prices range from cheap/affordable to bottles you don’t want to get too close to out of fear you might clumsily break it. The beer selection is great too. I’m not all that crazy/adventurous with my beer selections but if I was this is the place I would come to try new ones!

Wine, wine and more wine! Did I mention wine??? Great selection of products, including, wine-lover gifts/novelty items. The staff is very helpful. I honestly cannot find anything negative to say about a place that carries such a large variety. There is only few common selections that they do not carry, but they definitely compensate with the selection of brands that they do. Aisles are clearly labeled so that you can easily locate the type of drink that you are seeking with pricing clearly visible. I think I’m in love…

Case discounts are helpful here, because buying twelve bottles of wine is easy! I use their online website to research their highest rated, best value, French wines. There ARE plenty of bargains to be had for excellent quality wines! They have great wines at decent prices, up to and including«behind locked doors,» quaff that will put a sizeable dent into ones wallet. I’m talking the Opus Ones, the first growth Bordeauxs and Burgandys, etc. Their beer selection is just as extensive. There are top rated national microbrews, and craft beers from local NC breweries. German beer? Check. Belgian triples? Check. Service is attentive, knowledgable, and helpful. The main drawback, if it is a negative at all, is that their selection is so extensive, one can easily become overwhelmed by the huge number of choices. That’s why I do research prior to visiting. I also wish the aisles were wider. The only way that Total Wine could be better would be if they were located closer to Hickory!

This is a great place to go for wines and beers that you can’t find at the usual grocery store. One of the reasons that I really love this shop is because they have an excellent selection of sake, ciders and champagnes. Every once in a while I like to treat myself to a nice bottle of the bubbly and I’ve found that the prices here are much more reasonable that local night clubs. A bottle of Cristal will only run you around $ 179 versus $ 500 – 700 in a night club. You can even find bottles of the now popular Armand de Brignac Rose for only $ 479, which is a great deal compared to the $ 2000 that night clubs charge in this area. Moet and Dom Perignon are also very reasonably priced here.

Compared to the Woodlawn store, this store seems a little smaller and more condensed. They don’t seem to have the local beer options that the Woodlawn store has. They have plenty of 6 packs of the regional beers though. The layout of the store is odd since it’s in the corner of an oddly shaped building. Also, at the Woodlawn store, people are walking around asking if you need help. At this store, I didn’t see anyone doing that. Checking out was different also. Only one register open with a line of 4 – 5 people. The Woodlawn store would have opened another register. I don’t get up in this area much but I don’t see a reason to make an effort to come back to this store either when there are so many other options in my hood.

Stop in, while having lunch near by. They had wine tastings there, sample a few. Nice store with large selections to choose from. Ended up with 3 bottles of wine. Had to stop hubbby he could have bought more. It was like a chocolate candy store to him. The staff was very helpful.

So the TW off of Park Road is my go to place… but I was up around the University and stopped by this one as I needed to pick up a few items for a weekend full of parties. My selections required a few bottles of red and wine as gifts plus I wanted some champange. Though getting assistance required asking 1 person for help only to be told to go to another person only to be referred to the manager, but once the manager got involved it was GAMEON! I forgot this guy’s name, but he indicated he use to work at the Park Road location and was very good at providing suggestions on alternatives to a type of champagne I had been drinking for years. All of the recommendations kept in mind pricing and high ratings by both staff and professionals. I left a few bottle heavy and my wallet a few dollars lighter but very happy with the assistance I got here. Though driving way up to the University to shop here isn’t an option, I do heart these folks here!

Love Total Wine, they not only have a great selection but they are very friendly, helpful and informative. Love the wine tasting they have every week. Their website has the times and hours. I almost forgot the most important part, they have very good prices. Will be going back, again and again, love my wine.

My eyes popped out of their respective sockets when we walked into this local purveyor of spirits and libations! Well organized, the wine selection was overwhelming and awe-inspiring for rookies. We found out about this place looking for Olde Mecklenburg Brewery growlers, and we couldn’t have been more excited! The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. On the way out, we talked with the owner and found that there were several classes held there throughout the year. My ol’ lady and I were quite thrilled that there are several beer tasting classes for October brews! I think we’ve found our watering station! Noosh!
