Great selection of craft and local in particular, just $ 8 a flight and great half prices on fills for select beers Friday’s. Friendly staff that treat you and your growler right!

Fantastic selection. The beers change often. I come here for the flights. They are not allowed to sell pints due to NC state laws. The staff is very knowledgable about beer and happy to make recommendations.

We started St. Patrick’s Day craft crawl with a flight at The Beer Growler. The bar tenders were friendly and patient as we paged through the tap selection in a booklet form(HUGE plus by the way, I hate nothing more than standing with my mouth open at a beer counter trying to read a lengthy menu). Seems like the selection changes regularly. The day was busy and the seating was in hight demand. Luckily a couple agreed to share their picnic table out front with us.

Great beer selection and knowledgeable, friendly staff. However I left my credit card there — they said they had it, then lost it, with no apologies offered.

Cool growler shop with a wide selection. Why the 3-star review? The service was weird and not very patient. They seemed annoyed that we took our time tasting and asking questions. I’ll probably just keep going to local breweries for growler fills.

We love the Beer Growler! It’s the perfect place to start any night… Grab a flight(or two) with your choice of 4 craft beers from their amazing selection. No matter the time of year, I can always find more than 4 I’m just dying to try — hence the two flights. They’re in a great location to head to dinner in South End, Dilworth, Uptown, etc. afterwards. If you’re really lucky, there will be a food truck on site and you can make a night of it here. The staff and owners are super friendly & knowledgeable! We love that the place is dog friendly.

I’ve been here a few times over the past couple months and every employee I’ve encountered has been very friendly and helpful. They’ve got a great rotating beer selection and always have several that I end up trying to decide between. They’ll let you sample a few before you commit to a full or half growler. No complaints so far.

Great selection of crafted beer’s. They rotate 45 taps as fast as any place I have been to. Selections from coast to coast. You can taste any style of beer before you buy your growler. Great place for a beer tasting party with casual seating for your group. I will recommend this location to any one on South Blvd or Charlotte. Just plan awesome. The staff are excellent and will assist you with your tasting selection. Enjoy Chuck M.

Blown away by The Beer Growler! Excellent place to taste beer or get a Growler filled! Doesn’t matter where you got your Growler, they will clean, sanitize and refill yours! The big chalkboard had so many great selections! This is one of their strengths = well thought out beer choices. Another standout strength is «beer knowledge» = these guys know a thing or two about a beer or two — no joke! Great chatting with them and comparing nuances of beers! Love their flight carriers — the handles are brilliant! All it would take is one bump for a paddle to spill, but this design(with the samples also served in snifters) works perfectly. Well done guys! I had an excellent afternoon of beer tasting! I’ll be back with my empties! Highly recommended!

What’s not to love about The Beer Growler! They have 40 beers on tap and since they are filling 32 and 64oz growlers… the beers are constantly rotating with new, exciting beers to try. They recently just started doing flights which is pretty genius. Have a flight with whatever beers you are debating about getting and then fill a growler up! The staff here are super nice and also pretty patient. When you walk in, it’s pretty easy to get overwhelmed by the huge chalkboard of beers on tap — their website is updated well… but if you see a beer on the menu that you would want a growler of, I’d say don’t hesitate to get it since the kegs here go pretty fast. I love the idea of just trading out a growler for a fresh, clean, and sanitized one. I think the only thing they ask you to do is leave about an inch or two of water at the bottom of the growler once you are finished with its contents to nothing gets stuck to the bottom and makes it difficult to clean. Lots of parking… easy in and out from South Blvd. Totally walkable if you live in SouthEnd.

Vast selection, knowledgable friendly staff, and a fun environment. This is my favorite place to go for craft beer in Charlotte. They also have gluten free options too. Staff goes above and beyond in helping customers. Love this place!

I’ve been driving by this place for the last few weeks on my way to work each day. I finally got a chance to check it out last night. There is a very nice selection of all kinds of beers and kambuchas. My biggest complaint, like another reviewer, is not being able to drink any of what I buy there. As soon as you get the growler filled up its sealed and you pay and leave. They have tables there with coasters but I guess those are decorative. This aspect kind of kills the mood for me.

Love beer, love growlers, love this place that supports the local wonders of NC brew. Not a bar, but a place to try plenty of craft brews and buy growlers of your favorites. You get 4 tastes for free and then $ 1 per taste 5+. Pretty reasonable, I think. We left our first visit with 4 growlers for a neighborhood party. Excited to introduce our neighbors to this place. We tried 8 and found some favorites, for sure. Can we get this for wine??? Seriously!

So happy to see this place open. Yes, there are other options to get your growler filled but this one is closest to my house so it gets my vote and the 5-star nudge. Something on the order of 40 local taps and some other non local, equally craft, taps. They will include up to 4 samples for you so you can decide in lieu of just picking blindly. They will also rinse your old growler out for you and don’t require you to purchase their brand of growler. The parking is simple and easy. The location is kinda perfect. The service is very nice and this is a great addition to the beer nerd society here locally in Charlotte.

I checked out The Beer Growler yesterday for the first time. I had the opportunity to taste a variety of beers and gain some knowledge from the staff, which are very knowledgeable. I brought my own growler to have it filled and was able to purchase an additional 32oz growler as well. They have a great selection of NC beers which is great in order to promote the fabulous beer that we now have within the state. However, I think they’ll need to expand to other beers from around the country to increase the variety and expand the options that aren’t available in town at the local bars and breweries. Overall, I was very happy with my experience. You’ll be happy as long as you recognize that it’s not a bar to get a pint, but is a purveyor of a great beer that you can take home to enjoy. 64oz Growler — Lone Rider: Cowboy in Black 32oz Growler — Frog Level: Special Hoperations

The Beer Growler is a chain out of Atlanta that just opened it’s doors to Charlotte. They are located right across the street from World of Beer South End. What a neat place and great idea. My husband and I came last week just to check it out. It just opened and they were actually fairly busy inside.(Though, it kinda looks like they are closed from the outside just cause it isnt well lit). They had like over 45 beers on tap that you could fill your growler up with. We brought our own growler but you can buy one there for $ 5 for 64 oz or $ 2.50 for a 32 oz. There is a large board with the beers on tap and the growler prices. They don’t do servings by the pint but they will let you sample beers. I believe they let you sample 4 beers before they start charging(seems like they are fairly lenient on this if you buy a growler though!). As for the selection, they really do have alot of great options! My husband and I would consider ourselves very knowlegable about the NC(all there beers are from NC) brewing scene and they had a great range of breweries and types. There were actually a few breweries listed up there that I have never even heard of. The lady behind the bar was extremely knowlegable about the beers and breweries I asked her about! I noticed that Raleigh Brewing Company was on tap and she said they are one of the few places in Charlotte that have it. Seems like they go out of there way to make sure to get small breweries in there! We ended up getting our growler filled with the Duck Rabit Rabbiter(I believe it was around $ 15 to get ours filled, there is no additional fee if you bring in your own growler) and buying one of there growlers to get it filled. Can’t remember what we got… it was a brewery I was unfamilair with. This place is an excellent way to learn more about NC beers or enhance your knowledge. Bring in your grolwer(or buy), sample some beers, and take some home to enjoy!

I had heard this place just opened and being the craft beer snob I am, I had to check it out. The place is not a bar and they only sell beer to go here in growler form. The interesting thing is that most if not all of the beer is from North Carolina which is great that they are supporting the locals. They have a huge chalkboard with all of their options as well as printed lists for those of us who are vision challenged when we forget our glasses. They will gladly sell you a new growler of several different types or you can bring your own growler as long as it is clean. The staff was super friendly and is interested in any beers you might like to see. I ended up taking home a 32 oz growler of Deviant Dales from Oskar Blues in Brevard but usually I like to have a pint or so of a beer before I take it home in growler form so unless they have something that is in high demand that I cannot get elsewhere, I am not sure how much I will visit this store.
