Simply put — Another great find thanks to Unilocal. I was on the search for a bakery. One that was well received by the public and after reading reviews, I knew this was my place. I called a couple months ahead to see if they made diabetic cakes and indeed they did. I asked how much notice they require and they told me a few days. So fast forward a couple of months and I went on down to place an order. I had anticipated to order even though I had never once tasted their goods. I went down on a Tuesday and asked for pickup on a Friday and was informed that they didn’t have any availability for pick-up that day. So I would definitely give more than a few days to guarantee your pick-up date. I was able to schedule a pick up for late Thursday so in the end it didn’t make that much of a difference. They had another lady come up to help me and I told her I was looking to order a diabetic cake. She went over all the options with me and I was amazed that they had that many options. However, she must not have heard me when I said diabetic cake the couple times I said it because in the end, there is only one option for the diabetic cake. No BIG Deal. They offer a vanilla diabetic cake with a whipped topping for icing. They were helpful in helping me pick a design and so I was kind of excited. Before we left the shop, I paid a little over $ 30 for the small cake(feeds 6 – 8) and picked up a couple of goodies for myself and my son. I mean I had to at least see what I was getting myself into right? I ordered the coconut cake and got my son a couple of cookies. The dino sugar cookie was okay. The chocolate chip cookie — oh my lord. Delicious. And the coconut cake — I cannot express how sinfully good it was. The cake was moist and tender. The topping not to sweet, it was perfect. I mean PERFECT. So a few days later, we go to pick up our cake and it was pretty. My son was super happy and of course we got some extra treats for ourselves. My son went with the chocolate chip cookie again and I had to try their brownie. I thought that coconut cake was good but SHUTTHEFRONTDOOR — that brownie was EVERYTHING. I mean everything. I was sad because I only purchased one piece but thankful I only purchased one piece because I would have sat on my couch and ate them all. Lastly, our diabetic cake was delicious. I was surprised at how good the actual cake was. It kind of reminded me of a German style cake — a little more dense than that coconut cake I had tasted but still freaking delicious. The icing was also perfect. Just a touch of sweetness. Listen, truth be told that cake was so good — I only got two small pieces. My hunny ate the rest. Suarez Bakery — we will be back. I promise.

My new favorite bakery in Charlotte! Ordered a cake for my mom here very last minute and not only were they able to make the cake, they also delivered! My mom told me it tasted delicious so when I came back into town, this was the first place I had to try. The place is small with no seating inside but what they do to make up for that is the open kitchen and the large array of baked goods they have. I settled for 2 things: the pretzel twist and the sugar mountain. Pretzel twist: basically a yeast donut twisted into a pretzel twist. It’s huge! About the size of my head. It was so delicious! Soft, fluffy, and glazed to perfection. Sugar mountain: a pretty accurate name. It’s a sugar cookie trifled piped with cream and sprinkles in between. It was crazy sweet but was adorable as a gift. It was hard to pick what to try. There are so many great things at this bakery and can’t wait to try them all! Will definitely return and recommend to anyone!

I found my favorite dessert here, Elephant Ear. Suarez MADE the best I’ve ever had, perfect, very large so they’re soft in the middle and crispy and flaky. They stopped selling them b/c they didn’t sell, I get it but they wouldn’t even take a special order to make them! I was prepared to order however many the batch made for my birthday but they said no. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement nearby?

One of my favorite places to get dessert! I love the smell of the restaurant when I walk in. Everything tastes fresh. Their icing is delicious – hard on the outside, but fluffy once you bit into it! I do not recommend their cakes, especially if you pick it up ahead of time, because they do not use preservatives(we learned from experience!).

Amazing donuts!!! The cupcakes look to die for but we stopped in for some donuts and they were quick, delicious, and there wasn’t a long line even for a Saturday morning. We got the cinnamon cake donut and a Bavarian cream and they are definitely worth going back!

Surprised my girlfriend on her birthday with a couple of cupcakes from here. Suffice it to say she loved them and always tries to go back whenever we are at Park Road Shopping Center.

The hand-iced sugar cookies are super tasty — not to mention beautiful! I love checking in on Instagram each week to see what new designs are being baked. It is always a good time to stop in at Suarez — after lunch, on a Saturday morning, or really anytime you want a treat! Side note — Elizabeth is SUCH a talented cookie-decorator(I’m sure that’s not her official title, but she truly deserves some kind of award). She’s super sweet, patient with customers, and always willing to help us decide what to order(because everything looks equally delicious).

I have sampled the cheese Danishes, might I add, DEEEEELICIOUS. The custom cakes, twice, there wasn’t a piece left or a mouth not salivating, and last but not least the gluten free cookies, let’s see if Suarez even made these treats worth becoming a cookie monster for, YES! still a tasty treat, especially the almond gluten free cookie. First custom cake, a small round white cake with butter cream frosting for my mom’s birthday, THISSOLDME, and my mom loved it! I had to go back for another just to see if the hype was real. Second custom cake, 1st birthday party greatness! A large French vanilla cake with butter cream frosting for the win! I couldn’t keep the party goers away, both cakes we took on a journey from charlotte with a 2 ½ to 4 hour ride and they held up well. Placed them both on the floor board passenger side with the ac blowing towards the floor, stay moist and yummy! I will definitely make Suarez my go to spot of custom cakes, I must try other flavor varieties before I can update my review with hopefully 5 amazing stars. So far so good ;p

Several times I have dropped in to buy cupcakes to take to meetings, much to the delight of whatever lucky group gets to partake. Seriously good cupcakes. It’s always a surprise to find the delicious filling and they are always visually stunning. The product is super fresh. I still have a few I have not had the opportunity to try yet, though, so I’m working my way through the choices. I got a sugar cookie though(not iced, just with coarse sugar) and found it generally flavorless. Given everything else that is so good, I was surprised. No worries. I still love you Xoxox

My husband found this bakery for me. We’re from southern NY and are always saying how there truly isn’t any good NY bakeries down here. Where we grew up, there was probably an Italian bakery on every corner. Well, I think we finally found what felt like home!!! The NY crumb cake or crumb bun, as my mom would say, are to die for. I also noticed they had napoleons and other pastries. First time I’ve seen napoleons in a long time. My husband had a blueberry turnover. He said it was one of the best he’s ever had. We live in the Lake Norman area and will definitely be making the trek down to Suarez’s more often than my scale would like.

I had a sweet tooth and decided to visit this bakery on my way to work.(I actually got in a small fender bender on the way to Suarez-oops!) The strip mall they’re located in is pretty ugly, but the inside of the bakery is quite lovely. They have a great selection of pastries and they’re all very tasty and attractive. I went for the pastry selection but I’d love to go back and try their cakes as well. It’s important to note that it’s primarily a bakery and not a café. They do serve coffee, but it’s not a huge priority. The focus is very much on their pastries and cakes. There’s also no chairs in the bakery so it’s very much to-go style. Not necessarily a negative-it’s a great place to stop in and get some sweets, it’s just not a «stay a while and enjoy your sweets» kind of place.

As someone who isn’t really into sweets, I don’t typically frequent bakeries. However, my husband LOVES sweets, so I decided to surprise him with some treats on Valentines Day! Suarez bakery is a cute little spot located right near BlackHawk hardware in Park Road Shopping. They have multiple cases of desserts ranging from large cakes to cookies to cupcakes. On this particular occasion, I got the red velvet cupcake and the cheesecake that had little heart sprinkles on it. The cupcake was delish! The icing was super sweet, maybe a bit too sweet for me. The cheesecake was amazing. Typically, I am a one bite girl with desserts… as in, one bite, and I don’t really need any more. However, I think I ate half of this small cheesecake! The crust was amazing! Perfect Valentines Day sweets!

I want to try all the things here but unfortunately I can’t do that in one visit! Great Unilocalie offer: check in and get bogo free on baked goods. I got the kitchen sink cookie that included everything from pretzels, graham crackers, chocolate chips, cinnamon chips and I don’t even know what else. Loved the concept and it was pretty tasty. Also got a lemon bar for the hubby(would not have been my first choice), but it was nice and soft and not overly lemon flavor but a happy medium. Loved the powdered sugar on top. Gotta get back for the cupcakes.

This is only my second time in here and both times were to grab a box of cookies for a gift so I haven’t had any cookies myself but the service is great! The staff is super friendly and they have an excellent selection. Perfect to grab a box for party or gift, they have beautiful cakes as well. Pastries and cupcakes. The selection of cookies cupcakes and dessert treats is great for any occasion and if they look as good as they taste im sure you won’t be disappointed! One of these days I’ll run in and grab a sweet for myself And I’ll be back to report

Sweet tooth heaven! Amazing displays in the windows! So beautiful! Inside, its like going back in time to that amazing home town bakery from your childhood. Love the retro feel and watching the bakers do their magic behind the glass. Highly recommend the caramel brownies and the cupcakes.

Great local bakery in Park Place Shopping Center. Suarez makes some of my favorite cupcakes in town! Make sure to check out their daily selection. I haven’t had the pleasure of tasting one of their cakes but they sure are beautiful! Make sure to check in on Unilocal for a fantastic treat!

Get your carb loading engines started because Suárez Bakery is all about the tasty baked goods. Located towards the bottom of the Park Road Shopping Plaza, the glass counters are filled with cakes and pies and cookies and donuts. The«Texas Doughnut» is the size of my head! Lots of interesting brownies and pastries! I opted for a nice and easy cheese danish, which I brought down the way to the coffee shop. The cheese was tasty, the danish was tasty and crumbly and all sorts of yummy deliciousness. Fresh! Totally recommend Suárez!

I always love walking by Suarez to see the creative cakes and baked goods they have on display. I decided to splurge on some hand-iced sugar cookies this weekend and they were phenomenal. Sugar cookies with Royal icing are difficult to perfect. Either the cookie is too mushy or the icing is too hard, or some other variation of those things. But Suarez gets it. Their sugar cookies are crunchy but not so much that you run the risk of needing dental work afterward. Also, the craftsmanship is amazing. Yes, $ 8(including tax) for three cookies was expensive but it was a nice little early Halloween treat. And I don’t mind paying more for a quality product.

Finally was able to stop in to try some pastries. I was hunting for some guava pastry, and found it here. Surprised it wasn’t that great. The guava had a more solid jelly consistency and tasted like papaya than guava. I’ve had guava pastries from Miami before and those were alot better than this one. Also had apple fritters, cream horn, cookie cake tower and a donut holes. Everything was just«ok». All the desserts tasted fresh, service was excellent with very kind staff, but everything we tried was overly sweet. If you love eating sugar, this is the place, otherwise you’ll feel a stomach ache soon enough. Not a place I would travel to try again. And cuban bread only on Saturdays? And need a reservation for it?

After so many years walking past Suarez Bakery, and seeing the amazing cakes in the display, my Mom and I decided to drop in after breakfast. We both decided to buy a box of a variety of treats. I chose a glazed donut, champagne cupcake and a cinnamon cake donut. The glazed donut was the most amazing donut, fresh, fluffy and glazed to perfection. I will definitely return for that! The cupcake was light but the frosting was a little sweet for my taste. As for the cake donut, nothing to write home about. As for my Mom, she chose the cream horn, the champagne cupcake and a few others that I don’t recall. The reason why, all she could talk about was the cream horn. She LOVED it and was so happy she bought two. Her birthday is this week and I will definitely make a run to pick a horn or two. I also loved the open window that allows customers to see employees hard at work on cakes, cookies and more. A definite treat while you wait and the kids around us loved it. I suggest you check it out if you haven’t already.
