Steer clear!!! I placed an order for a work event that was never delivered. I called SEVERAL times the day my cupcakes were supposed to be delivered and they never answered. I called several times the following days and still haven’t heard a thing. Obviously not a professional company– take your money elsewhere.

Just like the other 2 reviews, I purchased their deal on groupon, placed an order and then never received my order or a return to my calls — calling to confirm my order and delivery time. Bad customer service and experience!

As a parent, I hope other parents can empathize with me. A golden rule of parenting is, «Do not Funk with my children.» And as a father, there is an even more substantial rule that takes a higher precedence, «Keep my daughter off the pole.» Luckily for me, that rule won’t be effective for many years to come. So going down the hierarchy of father rules, the second most important rule to a father is, «Do NOT Funk with his precious little angel.» This father is NOT a happy camper. To give you a little background about myself. I am a very passive person. Incredibly patient, easy going, very understanding and optimistic. It takes a lot to get on my bad side, and that ‘a lot’ is falls under a punch in the face or robbing and stealing from me. And that my friend is not an exaggeration. Unlike Kari B who feels bad about these negative reviews, I sure don’t. Your impending doom is due to your own ignorance and arrogance. How do I put this ever so eloquently? Eff you Simple as Cake. So lets talk about my situation. We purchased 2 Groupons for my precious baby girl’s first birthday. This wasn’t just any birthday, this was the big 1. Our first child, our pride and joy. Our little bundle of joy, my blessing from above, a gift from the gods. About two weeks ago we followed the instructions as directed and placed our order online. A few days pass and we decide to see what this business’s profile looked like on Unilocal.Low and behold, nothing but negative reviews — all filtered by now. I thought to myself, well, this must be a fluke. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and reassured the misses that it would all be okay. A few days pass and I place my first call to check on our order. No response so I leave a message as directed by the machine. I let it rest and a few days later, I ask the misses to make a follow up call. Same story, no response. Okay, they must be busy with all of those Groupons and ‘deals’ they posted on Unilocal.Again, I give them the benefit of the doubt and we call again. A couple of sunrises later and guess what? Still no response. Alright…by now we’re both getting a little anxious. It’s crunch time. So Thursday comes around, 1 day before our requested delivery date. I place a call to this poor excuse of a business, Simple as Cake. I politely ask, about our order. I clearly state, that if the delivery cannot be made, please just give us a ring so that we can make alternative arrangements and take the appropriate steps to execute plan B. I also clearly state that a courtesy call ISNOT too much to ask for. Over 300 hours later and guess what? Nada, zero, zilch. Not a single cupcake, not a single phone call, not a single email. Oh boy am I pissed. 1. What kind of business operates this way? 2. As a matter of fact, you don’t deserve to even be in business. 3. How can you offer a delivery service and have ZERO communication with your customers? 4. Is a simple courtesy call or even an email too much to ask for? 5. How do you expect to keep customers if you cannot even communicate to them whether or not you’re going to honor their order? Here’s a thought: if you do not have the bandwidth to execute and deliver all of these cakes and cupcakes, then maybe a Groupon and a Unilocal deal isn’t the brightest marketing strategy. Oh wait, I take that back. It’s actually a brilliant strategy to get rich and rip people off if you’re a crook! You know, all they had to do was just return a simple courtesy call. We would have happily obliged if they couldn’t process our order. All we needed was a simple yes or no and we could have made other alternative arrangements. Simple as Cake, Oh I wish it was that simple. You’ve lost another valuable customer. Even if you offered me free cakes, I’m going to wholeheartedly reject your request without an ounce of guilt. Let’s just hope this review doesn’t get filtered so that other unsuspecting victims do not get suckered in by this business. My heart goes out to the poor gal who didn’t even get her wedding cake. Never will I ever recommend this business to anyone. You will be left in agony and utter disappointment.

Sweet Tooth Beware! I purchased 2 dozen cupcakes via the Groupon special that was offered a few months ago for a bridal shower that I was planning. I placed my order successfully online via and received a confirmation call from the company. They confirmed my order along with the delivery date and time. I thought I was good to go! Fast forward 2 weeks to the morning of the bridal shower. The delivery time was from 9−12pm. I called a few times throughout the delivery timeframe to check on the status of my order and all my calls went straight to voicemail. The end of the delivery timeframe came and went with no cupcakes to be seen and no communication from the company. Very disappointing. I’ve tried calling a few more times and there is no answser. I’m not sure how their cupcakes taste since I never got to try one, but I can speak for their customer service and it is definitely lacking. I am in the process of trying to receive a refund from Groupon since I still cannot contact Simple as Cake. This local business is not off to a good start. Possibly they bit off more than they can chew by offering the Groupon deal?
