Awesome pastries made from scratch! Had the Napoleon and I’ve never had one as good, not even in NYC. I usually don’t ever get one b/​c its too sweet, too soggy, whatever. Mocco’s is DIVINE. Somebody there is gifted at making phyllo and puff pastry. When I asked, I was told it was the storeowner’s mother, who actually spoke with us when we first entered. She doesn’t speak much English, but she doesn’t need too, either. Her pastries speak for her — eloquently. Their cheese pie was also great; buttery flaky crust, tons of feta and no greasy mess. Décor is warm, clean and a tad Spartan, but there are tables/​chairs and sofas, so very inviting. Free WiFi seals the deal. Worth a trip EVERY freaking day.

Love this place. Excellent Espresso Freddo — I felt like I was drinking a cup of coffee in Greece! The best coffee shop I’ve been to in Charlotte in a long time. I couldn’t make my mind up on the desserts, so I ordered one of everything and took them home. All of the desserts were delicious — from the Chocolate Éclair with the melted Dark Chocolate on top (that was my husband’s favorite), to the Ek Mek (spelling? — which was my favorite), to the Galaktobouriko. Very authentic. Also, the service was great and the owner was very helpful in explaining the desserts to me. Will definitely be back!
