Rare five stars. Even my 96 year old dad, resident here, says that«this place is well-run.» Two buildings, one assisted living, the other memory care, each have a 60 person capacity. The interiors, especially the resident rooms, are larger than we found in looking at 8 other facilities and bright from daytime. There are two stories of three wings in assisted living along with libraries, living rooms, TV rooms and activity rooms. Physical therapy is in-house with all the equipment and gear as well as full-time occupational and physical therapists on the staff. Very convenient and professional. And do they give the residents a good ride/workout. Dad is tired when he flops down in is room after a session… much to our delight. The occupational therapists work directly one-on-one with residents, sitting with them during meals and having them go through daily tasks so that they can recommend best and safer ways to get things done, like toileting, eating, moving around, types of furniture and overall capability development. Very impressed with them. The activity staff is busy. I don’t see how any of them have time for a break. There are things going on in both buildings all day. And they bring in pets, scouts, entertainers, religious organizations and simple things like Wii and bingo. It is hard for residents to avoid getting involved as the activity people seek their involvement. Well-run, friendly, safe and well-maintained. There are three maintenance people who do all the move in, move out, repairs and even hanging up mirrors, pictures and bolting dressers to walls so they will not tumble down on over zealous residents opening drawers with vigor. Certainly, med techs regularly medicate and the kitchen crew serves three sit-down meals daily. And coffee/tea, fruit and snacks are available, along with a newspaper downstairs. We researched 9 total facilities finding a place for my dad and some were awful, dark and limited in activities and space. Their ads looked good, but they were really stretching the truth. Legacy Heights certainly stood higher than them all.
