I like that they are taking advantage of this space for this spring event. It’s not as big of a set up as the Festival in the Park in the fall, but it’s nice to walk through. They have some food stands(typical fair food type). The focal point is definitely the artists & their works. Most of the works are little pricey, but there are some reasonable ones. I bought my 1st local art piece as a gift, and there was a fabulous looking glass work in frame for $ 48… I almost bought that as well. This is a great event for a short visit(you can easily walk through this in an hour). Let’s show support for our local artists!

I love anything artistic and cultural so this was the perfect festival for me! The event was very family-friendly, but is probably also a nice place to take a date. The festival featured various local artists. It was a great opportunity to see and support Charlotte’s local talents/artists. One of my favorite artists is David French. His paintings were of local staples that define Charlotte, such as NoDa Art District(Amelies, Cabo Fish Taco, Crêpe Cellar, etc), Plaza Midwood(Penguin Drive-In), Freedom park, Uptown Charlotte and a few other places. I wrote down his website because I would definitely buy one of his artworks as a memory of Charlotte if I decide to move. They would probably make good souvenir gifts as well. If you’re like me, you’ll get excited when you recognize the different areas around Charlotte =P( ) There are a few food booths in case you get hungry, such as funnel cakes, turkey legs, hot dogs, etc(typical festival food I suppose). The Melting Pot gave out free samples. I definitely could not turn down free, chocolate-covered strawberries! =D The day concluded with live jazz music, the perfect ending to a perfect day!
