I followed Kristin to this place from Lenox Salons. Kristin P. Troglin. She have been at this location since Jan 2013. Kristin been coloring my hair since 2011. And I can’t or were able to complain because I’m alway satisfy with her works. She takes her time. She listen and she’s happy when you’re happy with the end results. Armed with her bubbly personalities and great customer service, I alway manage to feel good when I leave her. I came to her today because I need a retouch to cover my greys, like all ten of them. You may laugh but it is serious business. And summer is around the corner so I needed a change. I wanted the ombré highlights. But I don’t like the blunt line between the dark and my highlights in the middle of my head. Beside I was little scared on how it will turn out. So with Kristin’s suggestion. We decided to do a settle ombré. My retouch(close to my scalp) will be a level 4. Like a dark brown. The gradually lighten to level 6, light brown, finish with a level 8, that’s like a caramel color. I love it. It’s very settle. Nothing crazy. The whole salon itself was good. I wish they have a receptionist at the front at all time. For 1st timer. It can be a little confusing for them. You don’t know what exactly to do but just sit down. The décor is great. Plenty of windows for natural lights. Exposé wood beams on ceiling gives it a nice touch. Overall it’s a good place to be at and when she’s done with me, I look gorgeous…

The rating I’m giving this place is an average of two scores: 3 stars for the facility and 5 stars for my specific hair dresser, Mel. I originally found her at a different salon which subsequently closed down and I followed her to J Graham and Company. Before I came to Charlotte I always had a hard time finding someone that could cut my hair just the way I liked it. I was dying to find a hair dresser I could keep going back to but just never had any luck. I hit the jackpot when I ended up with Mel the first time I visited a hair salon in Charlotte. She listens to my descriptions of what I want and she always knows exactly how to make my hair cooperate. She’s a great stylist and she does an excellent job coloring too. Plus she’s extremely friendly and easy to talk to while I’m sitting in the chair for the 30 – 60 minutes it takes to cut and style. I’ve been with Mel for 2+ years now and I pray that she doesn’t decide to skip town. J Graham and Company is just all right. The rest of the employees aren’t exactly the most friendly or helpful but they’re ok. I believe the salon also does nails but I haven’t taken advantage of that yet. The place is a little on the pricey side but I think it’s probably about average for a nicer salon in Charlotte. Besides, the price is well worth paying to have someone competent working on my hair.
