Not a great place for kids. They didn’t really seem interested when we brought our two girls in to get their haircut. It was the first hair cut for one of them and did not turn out to be a good experience. When brushing out the girls hair there was allot of fast movement causing my 4 yr olds head to jerk around. It seemed they needed to be somewhere because they finished quickly. My wife had asked to get my daughters hair layers and she was told no. I could cut 2 inches strait off the bottom which is what they did. I will not be going back and will not be giving any good reviews. Hopefully they treat adults better or I don’t seem this place staying in business long.

I love, love, *love* my usual hair stylist — I have been going to her for years and years and she is wonderful — she does a great job, I always like what she does — she is awesome. But… she is a hair stylist and charges, as she should, for her years of finely honed skillz and premium products. I needed a trim and a color, but because of new specs for $ 300 and car insurance of $ 400, I don’t have an extra $ 100ish*cough* laying around, so I thought I would try out the Great Clips that is right across the street from my apartment complex. I looked online earlier today to make sure of where I was going and saw that they have an app check-in tool that you can download, check-in on the way over and you get called in the order your check-in was received instead of what time you arrive. How cool is that for a busy weekend? I went right after work, so that wasn’t really required, but if I was a busy mom who needed to get some rugrats street-worthy and spit-shined, that would be a handy dandy tool. I got to the Great Clips, sat down for about 45 seconds and a young lady came and got me. All I needed was to get the dead ends off(I am going to attempt covering the grey myself) — so 10 minutes and $ 13 dollars(not including the tip) later, I was out the door. She used a spray bottle to dampen my hair and then snipped through it quickly. I don’t know that I would go for anything other than a trim, but for what I needed, she got the job done. She was a nice young woman who chatted just enough to be pleasant without yakking my ear off. The space was clean, parking was easy(right next to the Harris Teeter at Providence Commons /corner of Providence and Ballantyne Commons Pkwy) and all of the young women who were working this evening(everyone else there getting their hair cut was male) seemed pleasant and competent as far as I could tell.
