I’ve only been inside once since my mother stopped by one day after work(about 5 years ago), curious about what was inside, at the time I was in high school. She later told me at the time that the man owned the little counter and the abandoned brick building with the Coca-Cola sign was warm and welcoming. Noticing that she was a Yankee he offered that she sample something from the menu. Since she insisted she wanted to try something«quick and different». So he suggested she tried the fatback. Now as a Yankee who’s guilty pleasures include fatback, biscuits with gravy, fried pickles… good lord the list goes on and on, I had to stop by after she recommended it with this big grin plastered on her face. So, after putting it off for a few years, I drove past the place heading from my mom’s place one night and noticed it had been somewhat renovated inside and he had a new bright blue billiards room and there were a decent amount of people inside. My mother says that he rents the spaces out for various events and small parties. If I remember correctly it’s a small place, but since it has been a few years, I may be completely wrong. I’m not sure what type of renovations have taken place. Needless to say after sending a few friends and associates to the counter for various staples such as burgers, wings, sandwiches, and fixin’s I’ve been told that they’re hooked. I’ll pop in over the next few weeks and see what’s changed in the little counter and give a more updated review. I know the Belmont area is undergoing significant change, since I’ve moved near the area and I’d love to know more about the place I’ve always suggested to others based off of a small nibble of a sample.
