Cu Copper has been my go to spot for a good glass of wine, even a good French Martini, because yes, they do have a full bar as well as their amazing wine selection, and food for years. It was a hidden gem 5 years ago, located behind 131 Main in Dilworth. However, as people have found Cu it isn’t so hidden anymore. The service, wines and food, from 131 Main, make for a perfect go to spot. If you want to stop in for a drink and appetizer it is perfect. I love the smoked salmon with toasts starter. The service is always on point, and sometimes they have live music which makes for a perfect evening. Living in the area this will continue to be a nice spot before or after dinner for a drink.

I’m loving that my Elite squad is digging this place because I do too! This little gem is found underneath 131 Main and has a great intimate atmosphere. It reminded me of a speakeasy. I came to Cu Copper with a group of girlfriends the other night. There’s plenty of bar seating along with a few high top tables. The place probably holds a total of 50 people. On Friday they have live music with $ 3 beer bottles and Saturdays are half off bottles(best believe I’ll be back)!! They had a pretty good selection of wine, plus you could order off of 131’s wine menu. They do have a full bar, but I didn’t see any draft beers– just bottles. Cu does offer a few select small plates, but just like the wine menu you can order off of 131’s food menu. Our bartender Amy held the place down as the only bartender/server and was fast and friendly. Kudos. Overall, I loved the atmosphere of Cu and will be back for date night or with a group of ladies.

This is kind of my new favorite little place in Charlotte. When you first walk in, it has a warm feel. There are some cool pictures on the wall and several tables where you can cram about 7 – 8 people for some group drinks. This is also a great place to go if you’re by yourself and just want to get a casual drink and a great meal. There are always great daily specials going on at Copper. My two favorites are $ 5 wine glass Thursdays and ½ price premium wine bottle Saturdays. The bartender makes awesome drinks, so ask her for a recommendation and you won’t be disappointed! Food is great. I ordered a burger off of the 131 Main menu and there was so much food that I barely made a dent in the plate. Check out the board for the tapas specials, which are great quality at a great price. My favorite is the Beer Cheese Tacos… YUM! Drool… This is not the place to go if you’re looking for a dance party. If you want a casual yet nice place to go, hang out, meet people and maybe even sing along to the live music, this is a great option for any night of the week!

I love this little place! I came on a Friday evening after dinner for a couple glasses of wine before I went home. The bartender(I believe her name was Amy) was great. She asked us often if we needed anything and was helpful in choosing a glass of wine. This is a cute little cocktail bar tucker behind 131 Main. The lighting is dim, there are a few high top tables and plenty of bar seating. The bartender said on Saturday they were having half price bottles of wine(whoa…I know!). I am not sure if this is an awesome every Saturday special or just this particular Saturday. I can’t wait to return, Cu!

My favorite little bar. This is a great place to go with someone if you’re trying to dodge the crowd. There’s usually live music and the artist is always good. Additionally the food menu is from 131 Main, so if there’s a wait, you can come here. Wine list is moderate with about 20 wines to choose from at decent prices. Love the seclusion here. If you can Cu Copper, you’ll be glad you did!

Stopped here for drinks after dinner at Fiamma. Got lucky and scored some parking on the street, although walking past 131 Main it looked like there was a Valet kiosk out front. Yes, I agree, it’s hard to find. Tucked away towards the back of 131 Main by an entrance to the parking garage(if there hadn’t been a sandwich board out front, we’d still be searching). Warm little seating area upon entry and a long bar straight to the left with a hammered copper top. Small selection of bottled craft beers/no taps. They do a nice size pour in a huge glass for $ 5 on Thursdays apparently. The house Cab was not very good(especially compared to the house Cab we just had at Fiamma which was awesome). I had a bottle of Port City Porter(wasn’t offered a glass). Probably the best thing was the live music — someone was belting out some really good interpretations of current alternative music.

This place is AWESOME! We came here last Thursday night to meet up with our friend(Paul C). It can be a little tricky to find if it’s your first time there. I actually walked right past it on the way there — It’s pinched in between 131 Main & Frank’s. Walking in you almost feel like you’re stepping into a speak easy back in the 1920’s. They had live music playing near the entrance with nice seating and they had $ 5 glasses of wine. I’ve never seen wine pours like this: NEVER — especially on $ 5 night. They also had a wide selection of great wines. Everyone who served us was polite, courteous and QUICK. I didn’t order anything to eat but from my understand they offer food items from 131 next door(can’t go wrong with that). The ONLY thing that I didn’t like about the night was looking for parking — It can take a little while as parking is a bit limited in the area. Give yourself 10 – 15 extra mins and you won’t have a problem. I will definitely be adding this to one of the places I stop at when ever I’m in the area.

Upping it a notch to FIVESTARS… Why? Well, we had a Charlotte Wine Appreciation group Meetup here this past Thursday night, and it was $ 5 wine night! ALL wines were $ 5. And they did NOT scimp out on the pours. They really did a GREAT job in handling the large crowd they had even though they were short staffed. So kudos to Nicole the bartender/waitress. I felt really bad for her at first, but she finally got a little help and the ship was righted… The ONE thing that Management MUST do is PROVIDEMOREFRIGGINMENUS! How could a WINEBAR only have like THREEMENUS available for a large group? Come on people… Print a dozen or so. Hell use a copying machine. We DO have the technology!!! GRRRRRRRRR(Only criticism of the place for that evening… not enough to remove the final star though…) Anyway, back at the ranch… before the wine drinking festivities began, I was STAHHHAAAVIN so I got the menu from 131 Main(of which they are affiliated with, thankfully) and Nicole recommended the Prime Rib Sandwich. OHMY… GOODCALL! Very scrumptuous… super tender. I didn’t even need teeth to eat it! It practically melted in my mouth! THAT good. Came with Au Jus and fries, which were good but a TADTOO thin… while I like shoestring fries, these were more like Dental Floss fries… I even had trouble picking them up. BUTTHEYWEREGOOD! So no real complaints there… just whining. :-) Now that my belly was FULL, I started imbibing for the evening. They have a limited but well selected choice of wines, and I chose a variety of them for the evening. At $ 5 for generous pours, it was a great night! Finally, I met some awesome new friends here thanks to Unilocal!Marco and Allyson met up with me and my friends, and we got to know one another while drinking delicious wine. What a great evening! Can’t wait to do it again. Cu I will SEEYOU again soon! :-)

Great little bar tucked in between 131 Main restaurant and East Blvd B & G. The bar has a very contemporary hammered copper bar. They offer cocktails, beer, and wine… Some tapas. Also can order from the full 131 main menu if you so choose. The bar staff is super friendly and make decent libations. It’s small enough to have a quiet drink or have a group of people enjoy themselves. Great bar hop stop in East blvd… There are some lounge-worthy couches in the front of the bar and some tables and chairs. It’s dark and definitely has an atmosphere. The only issue I see with this place would be parking, but I believe you can park in the parking deck or on street parking.
