Let me just say I was very disappointed with this Hotel more specifically the manner in which they conduct business. I cannot tell you how my stay was or about the details of the hotel room and amenities because my boyfriend and I never even made it through the front door. After a long six-hour drive to Charlotte North Carolina we finally arrived at the hotel… The parking lot seemed a little empty but nevertheless we just thought it was a slow day. As we approached the entryway to the hotel a woman came out with a clipboard and said«umm sorry you can’t come in we’re closed today» I’m sure you can imagine our confusion. My boyfriend then stated that we had just book the hotel a week ago. Then she said«well we haven’t had power for three days» my response was” well why weren’t we notified” she then went on to say how were we supposed to call you, we don’t have any power? STRAIGHTDISRESPECTANDVERYUNPROFESSIONAL! Then she said oh you can go to another CLARION hotel in South Carolina… Since we booked the hotel through I wasnt sure who to blame or CLARION… in my opinion both parties were at fault. We then called to make other accommodations and we were put on hold for more than an hour. After continuously being transferred and put on hold we finally spoke to one lady that could barely speak English! She attempted to locate comparable hotels but they were all far away from where we need to be. I felt that we should have at least been compensated or refunded for the money spent on a hotel we didn’t get to check in. She kept stating that she couldn’t find a hotel closer to where we wanted to be. My boyfriend then looked up several hotels in the area listed on website and began to read her the list and she acted oblivious. When it was all said and done we ended up staying in a hotel that was literally a 1 minute drive from the original hotel we booked… PATHETIC! The hotel was more expensive than our original booking so offset the price and they gave us a $ 75 off coupon for our next stay. Just to give you a timeline, we arrived in Charlotte at 2PM and we didn’t check into our hotel until 530. My advice, do not book through and do not stay at this hotel. If you’re looking for a hotel in Charlotte stay at the courtyard Marriott on Woodlawn Road much better service

I stayed there for just two nights. I got in really late and only had to wait maybe 10 minutes for the shuttle to come pick me up. The driver was very nice and he drove safely so that’s always good. Check in was very good. I believe the girls name was Rachel Jacks but I could be wrong, she was very quick and social and made me feel welcome. I had a headache and I asked her if she had any medicine and even though she didn’t she called the Ramada next door to see if they had any and when they didn’t she let me know of the nearest cvs and walgreens. That’s the kind of service I like to see. The room I was placed in was wheelchair accessible and even though I don’t need that it was still a nice comfy room. The stay overall was a pleasant one. I didn’t have a rental car so I ubered around but mostly walked around and I liked how it was in a central area of most things.

I’m giving this hotel two stars for their nice clean room. The location is definitely a one star and the service is two stars on a good cloudy day. It appeared that I was bothering the front desk when I wanted to check in at 8:30pm. She wanted to put me on the first floor, but being a single woman traveling alone in a questionable area, she relented and put me on the second floor with a wonderful view out the window of a roof/wall A/C units that dotted the rooftop, which if I’m going to be honest here, is just as scary as a first floor room. The lounge/restaurant was open until 10:00pm however Rubie was there by herself and unable to accommodate the fresh group of customers that obviously had just deplaned(like myself). It took 35 minutes to get a cup of soup to go and they were unable to do room charge. I had requested crackers for the soup, but that was going to take longer, so I bought Saltines from the sundry shop, where the woman there was friendly and helpful and open until midnight! Like Drake H.‘s rating, the internet was as slow as the good ol’ dial-up connections(If you don’t remember the whir and buzz of the line being connected, then you were obviously born in the nineties) Despite the fact that the hotel was as quiet as the town of Tombstone, no late checkout! I booked this hotel on Hotwire,(which gave this hotel a three star rating), for $ 65 night. Now I know why it was so inexpensive, but I’ll have to provide feedback to them about their rating criteria. Again, like Drake H said, not a bad place to stay if you only need a bed and bathroom for one night.

I’m giving this hotel three stars for their customer service and price. They allowed me to check in early with no hassles. The room was very clean. Now mind you, it’s in the same area as a Gentlemen’s Club, but its separated from the element. The reason for three stars only is because of the internet service. It’s bad. I had to call the front desk twice about their connections. I was told to click on the«acceptance» tab. Well, I need to be connected to the net in order to do so. I was also unable to click on the strongest connection. Finally I was transferred to tech support who informed me that the one with the strongest connection was unavailable. I was finally able to connect to one that contained a poor connection. Very, very, very, slow even for free internet service. I’d rather pay. Otherwise, it’s not a bad place to stay for a day or two if you are trying to stay close to the airport.
