Every time I come to Charlotte, I demand that my husband take me to Cabo Fish Taco so that I can get the Tuna Tavarua tacos. The honey wasabi sauce and the marinated tuna is out of this world. The avocado pasta salad is unique and goes perfectly with the the tacos. Love this place!

I had the BBQ tacos with their coleslaw and it was so so good. Atmosphere was ok, went at lunch time so maybe that’s why but none the less we will be back, great little spot.

Sometimes the wait is long and parking stinks, but it’s worth it! I was skeptical by the corn-salsa but it was good! I had swordfish tacos that were on special and they were amazing. The side of past salad I chose was spicy and delicious!

Like everyone else’s post, this place is great. Try as I might, I could not find a thing to complain about. Food was great, service was great, drinks were great. If I had to pick one thing to complain about, it would be parking, that NoDo area has limited parking. And with all the construction going on, it made it even harder. This was my first time to the NoDo area, That said, I am definitely coming back. Thank you Cabo Fish taco.

One of my favorite places to eat in Noda! My boyfriend refers to the corn salsa as «crack». I normally get the tavaru tacos or honey soy glazed salmon tacos. Why 4 stars and not 5? I’ve never had a good margarita there. I’ve tried 4 so far and it’s a disappointment every time. Still an amazing place to eat and hang out at!

I am from northern virginia and I cant find good fish taco anywhere. My boss and my boyfriends parents(who are from charlotte) says this place is the place to go for fish tacos. I have to say O.M.G so delicious. I ordered the blackened mahi mahi tacos with black beans and rice and it was so good. They give you so much fish and you can tell it is fresh. They give you two tacos and they are huge! My boyfriend ordered the special of the day which was dredged seabass taco and it was amazing too! It was lightly fried and seasoned so well! Our server was such a sweetheart and was super attentive. She refilled our drinks without even asking! Also the manager/owner came around too and asked how our food was!(Which is a huge plus for me) P.S this place isnt a mexican style tacos everything has a california style to it. If i am ever back in town this place will be on top of my list.

This is a frequent stop for my fiancé and I. Their food is always amazing, and the service is always outstanding. There is not one negative thing to say about this place! The carne asada tacos are a staple, as are the BBQ mahi! I have never had a bad meal from Cabo. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique twist on Mexican cuisine. I will be coming back for years to come.

Been coming here for about 3 years. Found this place by accident and keep coming back and bringing friends everytime I come to town. Service is friendly and attentive, food is always fresh and tasty! Margaritas are also always on point, they have lots of flavors. This place never disappoints !!

Went for lunch today — great food and great service. I love fish tacos, and have had them from all over, these were very tasty. Loved the bbq and thoroughly enjoyed the black black bean and rice on the side to give my tacos more filling. I was surprised(pleasantly) how full of fish they actually were — which is another reason why this place gets a great review. I highly recommend trying this place if you enjoy fish or shrimp tacos!

Might be one of my favorite restaurants ever! Hands down, the best fish tacos I have had. The salmon and tuna specialty tacos… Superb. Been here twice now and both times have impressed. I will visit here everything I’m in Charlotte!

I love their salsa. It’s different and interesting. It’s almost a mix of pico and corn put together. Atmosphere is nice and pleasant. Parking can sometimes be hard to find but it’s worth it. It seems like they always have a crowd but that goes to show you how good their food is! I got their tacos and thought they were awesome. They have a nice selection of food to try.

Lets get right to it; if you name your place after one particular dish, that item needs to really deliver the goods. Yeah, the fish taco is flat out spectacular! Here’s why I like this so much … When you order any of the tacos, you get 2 tacos and a side. The restaurant has a very nice policy that allows you to mix and/or match your tacos. So have a fish taco and have a chicken taco or whatever taco on the same plate. I like that. Each taco comes to the table like a nice big overstuffed hoagie that you eat kind of openfaced. Cabo Fish Taco has figured out how to prevent this from turning into a giant sloppy mess as you munch your way through the meal. The tortilla is wonderfully crispy, a little flakey, and pliable at the same time while not being at all greezy. No idea how they do that? It holds up perfectly during numerous pick-ups. And it tastes great … delivering a fresh homemade flavor that will make you feel like you are sampling a family-secret-recipe. We’ve eaten there for several lunches, so I have had the chance to sample some of the other non-taco dishes. All very good but I’m happily stuck in taco mode. One quick word about the sides … the server recommended their spicy pasta side dish. It was perfectly very spicy hot and the pasta was perfectly al dente. Really nice execution. One last thought about why Cabo Fish Taco gets 5 stars is due to the atmosphere of the place. Very nice and friendly, casual relaxed vibe. Terrific service. Very nice bar thing going on, which I haven’t sampled but it’s front and center stage. You can’t miss it and it lends the place a nice relaxing backdrop. Give this place a shot, I bet you will really like it!

This is our favorite date spot. We are here at least once every other week, and Cabo never disappoints! Located in the cute NoDa district of Charlotte, Cabo Fish Taco has a laid-back, southern Cali vibe with 2 bars tucked inside and outdoor patio seating. There isn’t a bad spot in the house. The patio is heated for colder weather. The food is unreal. When you are seated your server will bring you their house-made salsa and chips. It is so fresh and tasty. I love to try their weekly specials, one of my all-time favorites being the Wahoo taco. Their season jalapeño mashed potatoes are so delicious! This is available in the colder months. We always start with the crab dip appetizer, no one can beat their crab dip. Staff is friendly, and service is on point. They also have a great drink selection, and a great margarita menu. My favorite being the Azul margarita!

I love seafood and Mexican food… naturally, Cabo Fish Taco was a delightful treat last night! This may have been my first time there but it definitely won’t be my last. I wasn’t surprised to find that Cabo was packed around 7:45p last night. They won’t seat you unless your entire party is there so make sure to be on time if you are meeting someone. We were seated right away and given this amazing corn salsa to start. I wasn’t a fan of the chips, they were a little stale for my taste, but the corn salsa was crisp and refreshing. Definitely a step up from the tomato salsa you get at chain restaurants. I took V’s recommendation and ordered the epic tuna burrito rare with a side of avocado pasta salad. I was tempted to order the beer battered salmon tacos but I’ll save that for another Thursday. The bf got a beer battered shrimp taco and a chicken taco. I didn’t mind the wait, we had corn salsa to keep us company. Food came out, those tacos looked huge! I seriously have not seen tacos that stuffed, I definitely will be returning for those tacos now. The shrimp was tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside, as it should be. The epic tuna burrito is rightfully named with generous chunks of fresh tuna. I love sushi so I enjoyed the rare tuna. For all of you who don’t normally eat seafood, its not fishy at all. The shrimp and fish were seasoned so well. That pasta salad, yum, soooo creamy. I am going to have to opt for this option for every meal at Cabo. We are for sure coming back. I’ll have to try a margarita next time. Cheers!

Cabo Fish Taco never dissappoints! Several of my coworkers are in LOVE with Cabo Fish Taco, so I go there every 6 – 8 weeks for work-related lunches. The service is usually very prompt and there is typically no problem getting a table during the lunch rush. I love the salsa, and have tried virtually everything on the menu and have never had a bad meal! I’ve also been to Cabo for brunch and dinner. Our brunch experiences have been delightful and, if memory serves me correctly, I had a stellar bloody mary the last time I went there for lunch. My only beef with Cabo Fish Taco is that they don’t take reservations for dinner(or at least they didn’t the few times I’ve called), I sincerely hope they’ll reconsider because I would love to add the restaurant to our repertoire of locations to go for birthday celebrations and/or to bring out of town guests but I don’t like to wait in line for 45+ minutes for a table. Cabo Fish Taco serves top notch food, and provides excellent service. I’ll continue to eat there regularly and, if I find out they’ve started accepting reservations, I’ll up my rating to five stars!!!

oh my gawd, this place is amazeballs!!! Service is fantastic, food is phenomenal, great drink selections!!! Visited on a Friday night with a large party and we were well taken care of. We mingled for a bit on the bar area before being seated where I had the fried shrimp app ans an overflowing shrimp taco with pasta salad. I wish I had more room for everything else on the menu! The décor was fun with sugar skull chicks, paintings, signs, wood floors, etc. Music was loud-ish but not so bar-like that you’re going deaf yelling in someone’s ears. Plenty of bathrooms, although I was a bit thrown off looking for them as they’re up against the wall in the bar area, but there’s more at the back on the dining room as well. There’s also patio dining.

Decent place to grab seafood tacos. I was in Charlotte for business and a coworker suggested I come here. This restaurant is located in the the NoDa part of Charlotte, a very cute neighborhood that is worth exploring more if I were to ever come back. Street parking only for this location. Got here 6pm on a Monday and we were seated immediately. Seems like a cool and chill atmosphere. They have a full bar as well. Once seated, they brought us complimentary chips and corn salsa. From their taco portion of the menu, you can order any two tacos which come with your choice of side dish. I went with the BBQ Mahi and the beer battered shrimp, with a side of baja rice. Both were delicious but not too memorable. Service was nice, food was OK, but not sure I’d make a beeline to come back to this place if I were back in Charlotte for business.

After two years, I figured it was time to update my review! My husband and I love Cabo and consistently come here about every two months or so. There is typically a wait. Though, they will take your phone number and text you when the table is ready. That way you can explore NODA some while waiting. We don’t usually have any issues finding parking on the street somewhere. We came to Cabo last week and split the BBQ Mahi Tacos with the avocado pasta salad side. The avocado pasta salad replaced the Jalapeño mashers and I gotta say, this stuff is awesome! I could just eat a plate of avocado pasta salad! I love that when you split a meal here, they will put it on two separate plates. Totally not a big deal for them but it’s just the small things that counts for me! The tacos came out and unfortunately the sauce was a bit off this time and the fish portion in the tacos was smaller than normal. Still, awesome flavors. Over time, I have come to realize that there are some items on the menu that I think aren’t as good as some of the rest. If you are coming to Cabo, I would stick with the fish tacos as they are what Cabo is known for(literally). The crab dip is spot on delicious but we rarely order it unless we have another couple with us to help eat it! Typically there is drink specials every day and they have a very nice selection of local beers.

A bunch of us were visiting a friend of ours in Charlotte this past weekend and we came here twice, since it’s my friends go-to spot! Being vegetarian, I was a bit skeptical due to the name of the restaurant and I didn’t want their random veggie option that they throw on the menu to accommodate the non-meat eaters and typically would just be a crappy taco with some veggies. However, I glanced at their menu and other Unilocal reviews on our drive over, and I was thoroughly impressed with the amount of vegetarian options they had — burrito, fajitas, and a couple of tacos. They also weren’t ‘cookie-cutter’ and seemed innovative and tasty. This place is HUGE. It’s(I believe) in an up-&-coming neighborhood of NoDa, and there is new construction being built left and right. There’s tables all over the place in the massive space, with a small bar in the back center. Off to the side, there’s another room with tables/booths, and a small, covered patio for outdoor seating. Both times we went, we sat on the outdoor patio as the ceiling helps with the heat. The only knock is that they may not have all their beers on tap — when a few of us came on Friday for lunch, my friend ordered three different beers, and each time, the bartender told us that they were out. Being from Philly/New York, I have to say the service was impeccable. Everyone is super nice and friendly, but I also guess that’s the norm down here. Our waitress, both experiences, came to our table to check up on us often. Onto the food… they start you off with some chips and fresh, homemade salsa with diced tomatoes, cut onions, and corn. It was simple, and refreshing… they even threw in some black pepper to give it a little kick. They also keep refilling them for you, which is a blessing and a curse. For my meal, I got the beer-battered tofu tacos on Friday and the sweet thai chili tofu tacos on Sunday. Both were delicious and packed with crispy, fried tofu chunks. If I had to pick, I’d lean towards the sweet thai chili as they packed a more flavorful punch. The beer-battered ones were a bit dry, as I head to drench cholula into it to make the flavor profile stand out because the white ranchero sauce wasn’t doing a whole lot. They come in a crispy, chalupa-like shell, which is great because most veggie tacos are runny and break apart easily as the liquids from the veggies get all over the place. However, these stayed in tact and gave it a nice crunch to it. I must warn you — they put A LOT of tofu in it. I don’t know if they’re trying to make up for the fact that it’s vegetarian, but I easily took out at least 3 – 4 pieces of tofu in each taco so I could eat it easily. Overall, a solid place, and can definitely see why they’re always packed for lunch and dinner. My friends who eat meat loved their dishes — whether it was the mahi mahi tacos, the carne asada, or the shrimp.

I love this place. The tacos are amazing and I am trying to try them all. My first time there I went with what the server recommended(one shark with pinapple salsa, and the tuna) and was amazed. I didn’t think I liked cooked fish until I took a bite of that tuna taco. It was pretty much a life changer. The next time I went with a friend and we halved all the tacos so we could try more. The service has been great, the only thing I don’t like is the side dishes, I’d just stick to the fruit salad.
