Very disappointed. Asked for a specific hair color and it was way off. We compared my hair to the sample after and the stylist said my hair pigment couldn’t hold it (notice how I said AFTER). She offered to give me a $ 45 deal to come back in a month to get the right coloring… No thanks. (I thought my hair pigment couldn’t have that color.)
Anyway, I’ve had my hair that exact shade before. She was just lazy and didn’t care.
Don’t come here, even with the groupon.

Disclaimer: I haven’t gone to the salon yet so can’t speak to the skills of the stylists yet.
But I am already upset because of appointment screw up. I called them few weeks ago and told them I needed an appointment for the 31^st and if that is possible I will buy the groupon. The receptionist ensured me that they have normal hours and scheduled me in for a session.
Today I spoke to them and the receptionist was like oh we are closing early and the stylist won’t be here and canceled my appointment. As you can imagine it is impossible to get another appointment anywhere else now.
I am really upset because she stated many times that they are having normal hours and to make it worse, she showed no remorse for there screw up and was not appolagetic. Not only does this put a dent in for my plans for tomorrow, I am also now stuck with a groupon that I have to use at a salon I don’t want to go back to. I will go to use my groupon next time I get a chance but can’t see myself going back unless they redeem themselves.

If you want an expensive, uneven haircut then this is the place for you. Armis doesn’t listen, I asked for a straight blow out and she ended up cutting short and making it curly like a poodle. $ 225? Really.

Customer Service needs a make over. Waited 40 mins in reception area for my appointment and finally walked out. Initially told my stylist would be with me shortly. After 20 mins interrupted the stylist at the reception area who was on her phone to check on how much longer I would have to wait. She did check and indicated about 10 more mins. 20 mins later with no acknowledgement I was there, I walked.
Don’t waste your $$

Rachael is amazing! She always gives me exactly what I asked for! My color always turns out beautiful and she is truly an artist when it comes the cut & style! :D Not to mention she’s a true sweetheart!

When I first came to this salon, it was for a manicure with Ken. There was a stylist in the front who had the most beautiful blonde hair color. I asked other people in the salon who did her hair and they all replied, «she does her own!» So I was then introduced to Armis and have since had the best color of my life! I constantly get compliments on my hair color. I even get stopped by complete strangers to ask who does my hair.
This last visit even took it up a notch. As everyone knows, going blonde long term can put major strain on your hair. I had done keratin treatments in the past and loved them but never loved the price tag on them. Armis now has a product called Olaplex that is offered as an inexpensive add on. I had heard recently many good things about Olaplex, that it’s like surgery for hair. It wasn’t that much more of a cost so I figured why not let’s try! All I can say is amazing! I feel like I have new hair again. I can’t stop running my fingers through my hair, it’s just amazing. I never plan on getting blonde color again without it!

I want to be honest and fair in my review here. I wanted to go 1 star, but I figure I should explain why I stopped going here. My first appointment here was wonderful. I explained to the owner, Armis — who is very nice, that I was on a budget and asked about prices and such. We agreed on a partial highlight, which she was very generous with, and a lovely cut and my first visit was discounted, so yay I was very happy. Then came my next few appointments. I’ve learned from bad experiences in the past to discuss price BEFORE hand. I hate salons where every time you go in the price goes up and up. Low and behold, the next appointment, I was charged for a full highlight. I told Armis that last time it was partial and she said, «No, it says right here that you had full highlight.» Um. no. I’m the one on a budget. Trust me — I know what I paid. The other thing — every single appointment I have gone in there was no one else in the entire place — no other stylists, very few phone calls. In fact every time I would make an appointment, it would go to voicemail. I was called back promptly to make an appointment, but that SHOULD have been a red flag. And I’m talking Saturdays which should be packed at a good salon. I also thought the salon was a big grubby — lots of hair on the ground and the couch in the waiting room was full of hair.
After that first appointment, every single appointment Armis was extremely late. I sat there for an hour one time. Another 2 times, she called me, mind you the day OF my appointment, saying she was running late and could I come in later, as much as 2 hours later. I agreed because I needed my hair done, but that obviously caused a challenge with my Saturday as I had to rearrange my schedule. No compensation for this either. All of these appointments too I felt very rushed.
The last and final thing that pushed me out was I went in, sat again for over an hour in the waiting room past my appointment time. Then, while I was processing, Armis was doing someone else’s hair. Okay, no problem doing a cut or something, but no — she was doing someone else’s highlights and then a walk-​in customer’s haircut. So I’m sitting there and sitting there and I’m thinking… this just seems too long. Bingo, I was right and my highlights were totally overprocessed. I knew it because then she was applying a toner to my hair while washing it out. Hmm… so even though we discussed AGAIN before she even started that I only wanted partial highlights since that’s all I could afford, she still tried to charge for full highlights. I finally was fed up and never went back. I never said why. My cut was also not the best and was very rushed. In fact, the next client kept coming in around the front and looking and looking and I could feel her frustration (as her appointment was now very late), and thus Armis was rushing through my cut, so it wasn’t very good.
Oh also — the inventory of products in the store… be sure you check it. I once paid a lot for a bottle of Bumble and Bumble surf spray. Got home and it was ½ empty. Also noticed that many products say, «Not for individual sale», which makes me think — aren’t those given gratis to salons to try? I could be wrong on that, but I’ve never seen it before.
PRO: When on time and not rushed, Armis does a great job. She is very friendly and always smiling. Nice massage chairs too.
CONS: Not listening, rushing, overprocessing, messy environment, pricing issues.

I purchased a groupon for the keratin straightening treatment at this salon. The guy who did the treatment, Alex, was very nice and I felt like he was doing a great job. However, after I washed my hair for the first time 4 days later (using the shampoo and conditioner I bought from them– another $ 40), my hair was NOT completely frizz free and straight like he had promised.
I went back to the salon the next day to have them look at my hair and see why it wasn’t straight like Alex had said it would be. Their response: it was better than your original hair when you came it. Wow. I did not pay $ 200 for «better» hair. I was promised that it would stay straight for a minimum of 3 months, and after the first wash I noticed immediate waves and frizz. It has now been almost 3 months (next week) and the top of my hair is smooth with waves, but underneath it is wavy/​curly and definitely not what I wanted. I have also noticed that my hair is not only shedding more, but has breakage. I also bought the keratin intense repair serum (not through the salon). Alex said using that would keep the hair straight longer, but my hair is definitely not straight. The serum is nice, but not worth the price ($ 40 – 50).
This treatment may work on some people, but it is definitely not for everyone. I wish the stylist had offered some sort of customer satisfaction for this, but the salon offered nothing and just suggested that I don’t do the service again. They would charge another $ 50 to re-​do the treatment again.
I felt like I wasted $ 200 on this service. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Alex was great! He first sat me down to find out & discuss exactly what I wanted for my haircut & he definitely delivered! I addition, he took his time in styling my hair & then talked about what he did with it. I feel like a doll. I’ll definitely be coming back to him.

After my last hairstylist «broke up with me» by moving to Wisconsin (what-​EVER!) I decided to go «low maintenance» for awhile, coloring my own hair and getting my bangs trimmed at a local cheap walk-​in place. That is, until the cheap walk-​in place (see my other reviews) butchered my bangs so badly it took months to grow the remaining bits out. That’s when I realized I needed to pony up the money to go to a real salon. I chose Armis Salon based on the reviews here on Unilocal and elsewhere.
Armis herself was behind the desk and greeted me warmly when I entered. She was my stylist, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! First, she took plenty of time to look at my hair and talk to me to understand what I was looking for. She carefully tousled her way through my hair checking the cowlicks and texture, and asking about what side I parted my hair on, and what I might consider. She even managed to get it looking pretty good with some skillful maneuvers and said, «Something like this?»
Yes, something exactly like that, please. After we talked through colors, she was off to the races, getting me started with partial highlights, then finally cutting my hair.
The resulting cut and color was exceptional by my standards. I’m the type of person who can’t wait to leave a salon so I can go home and «re-​do» my style more how I like it, but Armis’ work was perfect and I left absolutely happy and satisfied.
What I liked most about Armis was that she talked with me and got to know me and my hair. And better yet, when she styled my hair at the end, she instructed me step-​by-​step on how to achieve the same looks she was magically pulling off. She recommended I purchase some clips (and told me where to buy them) to help with styling, and recommended a hairdryer with brush attachment from Target.
Leaving with not only a great cut, but also the information and tools I needed to keep it looking fabulous, was something I’ve never experienced before. Armis and her salon are fantastic, and I can’t recommend her highly enough!

I drive by this place every day on my way to and from work and it just so happens that today I needed a haircut before my trip out of town this weekend. I did some research about places in the area and Armis Salon was still the most reasonably priced with great reviews. And let me tell you, they did NOT let me down!
I called and scheduled an appointment for the same day at lunch (very nice!) and was greeted by Armis herself. To my surprise she was the one who cut my hair too! She is so sweet. She took me back to the shampoo area where they have chairs that actually massage you while they wash your hair! Amazing. Talk about a relaxing experience.
I printed out a picture of what I wanted and of course forgot it on my desk at work. I was a little worried about explaining what I wanted but Armis got it DEAD ON! She even blew out my hair and teased it just they way I like it.
Needless to say the experience was fantastic. And all for a really reasonable price. I will definitely be back for any of my Salon needs.
Two thumbs wayyyy way up for Armis and her Salon! :)

I found Armis Salon and Spa when searching online for salons that offered eyebrow threading. They did such a great job on my eyebrows that I’ve been going there ever since. When you first walk in, chances are Armis herself will be behind the counter to check you in for your appointment. I believe that’s part of why the customer service is so great. Plus, everyone working there is extremely detail oriented – exactly what you want when someone’s shaping your brows! If you prefer threading to waxing, I highly recommend them.

I went to Armis Salon today and it was a great experience. I highly recommend Ginger, she is extremely talented and fun to work with. I’ve had my hair cut in many places over the years, and Ginger is by far the best! Highly recommended.
