Wow! Absolute worst «salon» (if you can call it that) experience. Came in looking for a routine bleaching, going from a light brown to a bright blonde. Not only does the bleach end up burning my scalp from being left on too long but once the lady washed me out, MY HAIR WAS BRIGHT GREEN! I mean LIME green looking. And to top it all off I STILL HAD TO PAY. Completely unapologetically ruined my hair! Beware of this unprofessional, poorly trained «hair stylist»!!! There are far too many other options in the Mecklenburg area!

I guess I’m just biased considering she’s a New Yorker just like me. Miss Viv is awesome at what she does and she knows it. Got a fabu cut from her at a time when any other salon or stylist would either be at the bar or home with a glass of wine. Would definitely go back for my style to grow out hair cut, but not currently there. When I am back in Charlotte she is definitely the person to call.

Amanda is a pro. Period. I gave it a few days before writing a review because I wanted to see how well I could style my hair at home first (since we know that is the true test of a haircut!). I found Amanda on Unilocal on a Sunday morning and asked if she could give me a highlight later that day. I had no time to see my regular guy that week and NEEDED highlights. She went and opened the salon for me that afternoon. Although I came for jus a highlight, she immediately started picking through my hair and pointing out errors with the cut. I was happy enough with my current cut, but it wasn’t great. I have really thick hair and it’s awful for me to style. I figured I was just stuck with unruly hair. She asked if she could do a cut as well as the highlight, so I agreed. Wow, my hair lays the right way now and I can actually work with it at home! The way she cut it was perfect for my hair type. She was able to accomplish a perfect cut without sacrificing any length. The color was also fantastic– very natural. The only drawback was the salon she works in. It’s a bit dated and not in a happening area of town. However, if you can get over that, her cut, color, and expertise were amazing!

I went to Amanda with a Living Social Deal. I have been living in Charlotte for close to 5 years, and have jumped from Salon to Salon trying to find a decent color and cut (I have long blonde hair.) Never being satisfied, I continued my search. I had an apt with Amanda, and when I went, I sat in the chair and she asked me what my goal was for my hair. I told her that I wanted to obviously stay blonde, but have it look natural. She combed through inspecting my hair told me that I needed more done to my hair than what the living social deal included (Basic cut & partial color — which is what I have always gotten). She was willing to work/​fix my hair that all of the other past hair-​jobs had screwed up. She showed me all the mistakes that the other stylists had done and walked me through what I needed and why. She told me that we could do the living social deal, but she wouldn’t be happy with the results, and she knew that I wouldn’t be either. She is very picky with hair and WILL do what it takes to make it perfect. I truly valued her opinion and suggestions, bc most people would do what I came in for and, and not be HONEST with what I actually needed. They would just collect their money and on to the next thing, and then I would most likely be on to try the next salon. We scheduled another apt and allotted way more time to have me sit down and do everything that we needed to do in order to fix my hair. Amanda was soooo knowledgeable and really knew what she was doing. From coloring to cutting techniques, she knew just what to do. Needless to say, close to 4 hours later, my hair is amazing. I wouldn’t say that it was exactly how I imagined it, because I never thought that my hair could look EXACTLY like the picture that I showed her — it is amazing! Every salon that I have been to, I have shown them pictures of what I want, and they just kind of do what they know to do and not really what I WANT. I showed her a pict of Jen Aniston’s hair (color, cut, layers, etc,) and FINALLY I left truly satisfied and with what I have been wanting my hair to look like for 5 years. Amanda is truly incredible — I would recommend her to ANYONE, and I am happy to say that I have FINALLLLLLY found my stylist!!! YAY! And her normal prices are reasonable as well so I don’t need to waste any more time/​money with trying new salons with the Living Social Deals! Thanks Amanda!
