No one likes to spend a fortune on house repairs, but unfortunately things happen, and somehow I got stuck with needing a new garage door AND an opener. I never know how expensive this sucker is until now. And I also never know how confusing all the garage door companies and their advertisements are until now(I will further explain… read on). I don’t remember how I found Ace Door. I called and spoke with Sybil the very 1st time. She provided me with a quote for a regular steel 16×7 plain Jane door and an opener with complete takedown, haulaway, new track, install, and taxes. It was several hundred dollars less than everywhere else. Next, I went to BBB webpage, and saw that they’re A+ rated and accredited with 1 complaint in last 12 months that’s closed and resolved. Per BBB they’re incorporated in 1983(and been in business since 1965). And wow, they listed Sybil as the owner, which was the lady I spoke with. It’s always good to see that owner is actively participating in the running of the business. Fast forward about a month or so later, I still have yet to found a reputable company that can beat the price provided by Ace. Worse, whenever I called a company(found on a flyer or on HomeAdvisor or other referal sites) to inquire about the job, I would receive calls from companies I don’t recognize. When I asked again for the name of the company, and informed them that I didn’t call them, the rep on the phone would say something along the line of «our company consolidated with such and such» or «we just bought out a few other garage companies.» As a consumer, I do not like to deal with a company that has so many AKAs, isn’t that just an easy way to deflect complaints and responsibilities? After another company misquoted me(they quoted me something less AFTER they went out to the house, which I thought maybe I caught a break and found a deal, only for them to say it did not include the opener… did the tech not see that my opener was not working??), I placed my order with Ace Door yesterday. The tech came out today at 11:15am, and finished the entire job at 3pm, with new track, new weather seal, 2 remotes, and the final price is exactly what was quoted. BEAUTIFUL! If you need garage door replacement, CALL them(I am sure they do repairs too)! I found them to be very professional and reasonably priced. They don’t waste anyone’s time by insisting on coming out before giving a quote. This is a real local company who does honest business. (Beware, there’s another company listed their address online as Mint Hill Garage Door or something like that, the lady told me they’ve been fighting them with no result)
