So very good and worth it! The owners are wonderful and helpful and fantastic. We were not sure what to expect and our kids were very skeptical. This is NOT what Americans think of as ‘crepes’ this IS what crepes actually are. If you have ever had Crepes at a chain breakfast restaurant, this is NOT that. These are amazing! A thin crispy lovingly made to order crêpe filled with fresh local or homemade ingredients. Filled with sweet things like homemade caramel, cinnamon sugar, or local maple syrup; or savory, like ham or mushrooms and feta. etc. Perfect for snack, dessert or breakfast. Also, That French Place has the best coffee in town! Don’t fret if there is a line, it is worth it. They make each crêpe to order, and each one takes about 3 mins and I think they can make 2 at a time. But the love they put in and the care is totally worth it! Served in a walking ‘envelope’, sit and enjoy or explore the waterfront.

Went to this place for a bite around 2:30pm today. I got a spinach mushroom swiss buckwheat crêpe. I’m no expert on crepes but mine was very good. Wish they were bigger. I probably should have ordered two.

After a pleasant afternoon of cycling along Little Traverse Bay, well, I was craving ice cream. And how can you turn down a place that has«Glacérie Artisinale» frosted onto its front window? Now, I’m a pretty hard sell when it comes to Snobbérie Foodinale, and my default mode is one of sarcastic scepticism. A chalk-board sign promised«all ice creams made in house from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients by BRIAN.» A burly, bearded man came behind the counter. «Are you Brian?“I asked. «Why, yes I am.» As personable, as unpretentious a fellow as could be, Brian and I then had a delightful conversation about ice cream, pastry, business in small towns, etc. Meanwhile I downed a bowl($ 5.00, for up to three flavors) of THEBEST chocolate ice cream I have ever eaten, paired with a strong coffee flavored one.(I should add that although I like chocolate, I don’t consider myself a «chocoholic,» and tire of its overuse as a flavor.) This review of five stars is only based on one visit, two ½ scoops of ice cream, but I will certainly be back to try some of the baked and savory goods, and of course, more glacérie!

We have been coming to Charlevoix every summer for decades. And this is my very favorite place in all those years for breakfast. They make a spectacular buckwheat crêpe with ham egg and cheese that rocks my world. it’s very hard to found true buckwheat crepes(la galette) outside of France, but it helps that the owner is the real deal. Their coffee is decent and the sweet crepes are also good. Don’t miss the homemade ice cream!

Amazing crepès for a solid price. Loads of combinations to choose from, my favorite being the banana nutella combo crepè. The other items available for purchase are intricate and thought out to match the overall feel of the eatery.

We were just looking for a quick and light breakfast but were blown away by how amazing the food way. Very quick to make our food and just great crepes. Tried the Nutella and banana crêpe as well as the spinach, mushroom and Swiss. Both were done to perfection in my opinion. Good coffee and extremely friendly staff, I wish I could stay and try the whole menu. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Best spot in town! The Apple caramel crêpe is to die for and the owners are the friendliest and nicest people ever. You will want to hug them before you leave.

Wish this place was closer to home! We really enjoyed the crepes & coffee. My husband went with bacon, egg & cheese and I had the cinnamon & sugar. Delish! We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re Up North:)

I haven’t had anything here that wasn’t fantastic! And then I discovered the amazing Kouign Amann. I think I spelled it right, but its a very unassuming looking pastry that you wouldn’t look twice at! Well that is a mistake because it is freaking phenomenal– I’m now totally addicted and cannot do anything but think about the next time I can have one!!! Its basically a Croissant type dough that is layered with sugar mixed in and creates a pie like texture but doesn’t begin to describe how heavenly it is! I’m out of words… try it or go through your life without trying it and be less happy! Wow!

Stopped in for gelato. Smells amazing in there! Wish we would have been able to go back and try a crêpe, as they looked delish. But back to the gelato… It was great. I had the rum chata and salted caramel. They had very interesting flavors and that’s what made me want to try this place out. Excited to go back on my next trip to Charlevoix.

We stopped in last night just because the sign was intriguing. We sampled the Coffee Brown Ale and it was very good. However, we fell in love with the Chocolate Habanero… We are going back today because it was so delicious and we want more! The staff was awesome and fun too. Five Stars from us!!!

A great addition to downtown Charlevoix, That French Place is a unique and delicious café-style restaurant with fabulous homemade crepes and ice cream. The majority of their ingredients are local which puts them at the top of the restaurants in the area to do so. They have sandwiches, paninis, salads, and of course sweet and savory options for crepes. A handful of homemade ice cream options(we tried the Morel ice cream, unexpectedly good). And the crepes are presented in a cone-like carrier, perfect for enjoying while strolling downtown. Prices ranged from $ 3 — $ 7ish depending on the type of crêpe you get, and are definitely big enough to share. Looking forward to returning and trying more flavors!
