Ever think to yourself that you are in the wrong job? Working here you will face that cold dark reality on a daily basis, twice daily as you wait for the bus to take you to/from work from/to MGH. Located on the water in majestic(and would never want to wander around after dark) Charlestown, this satellite of MGH specializes in medical imaging and basic science. Containing 8MR areas, 3 of which are currently used for patients, it is not uncommon to see patients in hospital gowns among researchers. We image pretty much everything ranging from people to animals – hell if there was reason enough we’d probably image a banana. Wait, whats that… I can’t say that? Why not… I can’t take it back now… well I already said it. I never go back and edit these things, it spoils the flavor… fired?! You’re fired buddy… Well I CAN fire you from my life, how do you like that? Converted from some old shipyard buildings, the offices are large and luxurious, though the workers have maintained that salty sea fearing attitude(I be a grad student arrrr). Most of the research is medically related, and research subjects are always treated kindly and safely. The environment is clean, smart, and always interesting. MGH was recently rated the top place to work in academia, and the center is a stunning example of that. I still can’t have my job back? Come on, that was poetry right there. Well fine, I didn’t want this job anyway. The center is located at 14913th street and is accessible from MGH via a shuttle that also stops at the North station T stop. Bottom Line: Come sign up for a research study, it will help your fellow man. I need to go clean out my desk now…
