I called ahead to make an appointment after a long day at work. I had been coming here for 8 years but since the owner, KIM, has left this site, quality of service has gone down. 20 minutes into my scheduled Mani /Pedi, I was rushed by the girl in charge who seemed to chastise the nail tech who was still working on my pedicure after only 15min. Even though I was scheduled for an mani /pedi, I felt compelled to leave early after only getting a pedi because I did not feel welcome here after there was a walk in customer that seemed more important than me. I doubt I will come back to this salon or recommend it to ANYONE.

Tianna gives a great pedicure. It can get busy however if it is a long wait they will tell you up front. It is very clean and everyone is friendly.

*EDITEDPOST* I’ve almost always had great service here, but after a recent experience I considered(but ultimately changed my mind) finding a new regular spot. I had a bad experience with an eyebrow waxing during which portions of my skin were lifted along with the eyebrow hair. Painful and quite unattractive, I was very upset and unfortunately was not able to speak to anyone the day it happened because I was the last customer of the day and when I returned to the salon they were closed(I hadn’t realized the damage until I got to my car and checked my reflection). The next day I contacted the salon to let them know what happened and was immediately given the owner’s cell phone number, which I thought was a really great example of good customer service for something like this. I spoke to the owner who wanted to meet with me to take a look at what had happened in person. Even though she wasn’t going to be in Charlestown that day, she rearranged her schedule to come into town to meet with me. When I got to the salon I met with both the owner and the woman who had done my waxing. Both of them apologized for what happened, discussed treatment with me, explained how and why it might have happened, and provided me with a gift certificate for 3x the amount of the waxing service. Even though I am not planning to get my eyebrows waxed at all for a long time(and likely at a waxing-specific location from now on), my manicures and pedicures at this location have always been outstanding and I will continue to visit for those services. Thank you to everyone who was involved in following up with me about my concerns, assessing what happened, and above all apologizing.

I wish I could give 3 ½ stars. The nice thing about this place are the hours and that they take walk ins. The salon is clean and the prices are completely fair and you walk away with the job done. I have to say, I’ve had different experiences here. The first time I came, I thought it was one of the best pedicures I’ve ever had. The hot stones are great. That being said, I’ve also been and felt rather ignored(one of my pet-peeves is when the dryer finishes and you’re left sitting there, unsure of what to do). I’d definitely come back and give this place another shot. The thing is, I’m just not sure what kind of service I’ll get.

I just had my nails done there yesterday. Not only was she extremely rough on my hands, but she did a terrible painting job. The top layer bubbled and one finger was entirely ruined. I was too frustrated to stay and have them do it over. I will not be going back here.

I had a bad experience with getting lashes put on. First they used a solution to take off my old lashes… that absolutely burned my eyes. I was there for 3 hours, and finally left with these awful skimpy lashes. Which they were charging $ 150 dollars for. Today, I woke up to very swollen eyelids… and I have a New Years Eve event tonight :((I would NOT recommend having lashes put on there.

i have been going here for over 2 years, and it is consistently the best nail place in town. clean, quick, great staff, and plenty of free parking. The name on Unilocal still says color for nails, but it is now Charlestown Nails. they answer the phone color for nails. who cares, they are the best! Update for December 2013: Still going there, and it’s still consistently great.

They were great! I showed up at the time of my appointment and sat right down. They are very clean and thorough. Kim gave me a fill and did the best job of anyone I’ve used in the city. She was very conciensious and I was extremely happy leaving! The prices are good — on par with nail salons in the area. I will not be using anyone else from now on.

I went here based on other Unilocal reviews. They’re right, it was clean, the people were friendly, and the price was great. However, it was definitely one of the poorest manicures I’ve had. I felt like the girl was rushing(which she probably was since I was there at closing time), my nails were still messy from the file and the polish was«goopy.» The worst part was that the UV light wasn’t working on the dryer. 8 of my nails smugged within a 10 minutes of leaving the salon. I might try them again(after trying other local places) if I need to stay in Charlestown, but if I have time, I’ll go to my favorite place, Nail Maxx in West Roxbury.

This place really gets the job done — good pedi/mani and for a good price. Went during lunch on a weekday and it was wide-open. Friendly staff, efficient, wasn’t in there for too long or too short… would/will definitely go back again!

I much prefer this place over Glitters and Mini’s. The prices are fair, $ 35 for mani/pedi. The pedicure includes hot stones! Also, the massage feature on the pedicure chairs are not too vigorous/violent as I have experienced elsewhere. Though it is a slightly farther walk from the main drag in Charlestown, I feel it is definitely worth it
