Anchorage Apartments

Lived here for a few months now. Love it and have had zero problems. Love how there is on street parking for just Anchorage residents, however the spots are almost always filled up.

I toured this apartment building and the scenic view of the water is beautiful. The building is very charming and the location is ideal! You don’t feel overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the city, yet it’s only minutes away from Downtown! The apartments themselves were bright and clean– ideal for students and young professionals. I definitely recommend!

I love living here! It is super convenient to downtown Boston and at an affordable price! I am a runner so I always run down on the pier after I get home from work. If it’s raining out, I use the fitness center. My apartment is on the 3^rd floor and I have a slight waterview from my bedroom. I work at MGH so I can walk to work and I have no need for a car. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to live in Boston at a good price!

Pros: good location, the navy yard is quiet and very safe.
Cons:
— HORRIBLE building management.
(1) They told us the lobby would be finished before we moved in (told us this in June, moved-​in in September), and it was not completed until January. There were drop clothes left out for days, dirt/​mud everywhere from construction workers.
(2) There is constant construction, and are clearly in no rush to get things done. They told me months ago they’d be replacing the carpet on the second floor, still hasn’t been done. Same, regarding painting the walls.
(3) They are repointing the brick, so windows have to be closed all day, otherwise you get a thin red coating of dust all over your apartment. And this has been going on since the fall, with a break over the winter. There is scaffolding covering entrances, and plastic covering some resident’s windows.
(4) Work orders don’t get completed on time
(5) They have not once updated us regarding the claims of dangerous chemicals in the building.
— Neighbors are creepy and strange. I’ve heard the building used to be section8 housing, and there are clearly people still left from that. Hallways always smell of cigarette smoke. Extremely questionable characters are constantly loitering around entrances.
— I would be very cautious about how much square footage they are «selling» as I think layouts are different in size. We pay over $ 2k and only have 550sqft, but we were told it was 750.
