i like little libraries! You don’t feel lost in them. the staff here is really nice and very knowledgeable. I have brought my grandchildren here for reading and other events and they had a blast! Granted you can get more resources downtown, but parking isn’t as easy as it is here. If you need something they can order it for you and your good to go! Yes they have clean bathrooms!

Nice library, great staff members. If you live in some of the local neighborhoods, it’s very walkable, too. Plus you can take your books to the outdoor patio of Earth Fare, or Starbucks(both nearby) and read and enjoy some food or coffee. I just reserve/hold my books online and then pick them up here. They email you when your books are in. Not open on Sundays but only the downtown branch is, for a few hours.

Tucked into the aging(or aged) South Windemere shopping center is the West Ashley branch of the Charleston County Library. It’s actually not a bad little branch, and the selection isn’t horrible — unless you’re there for movies. Like most public libraries, you have to get there at the right time(not that I know what time that is) to check out a good one. Heck, I don’t even know that they have good movies, but they don’t ever seem to be there. They also have online access, but it’s not open — you have to use a library card — but apparently just any card doesn’t work. I tried to use my parent’s access, but that didn’t work. Maybe they are considered too old or have to sign a waiver or something. I’m just not sure, and left utterly confused. As to books? They seem to be pretty decent.
