After standing at the counter for 5 minutes and not being acknowledged by either of the 2 employees behind the counter, I walked out. No «hello», no «we’ll be right with you». Silence.

This TSC is NOT like the ones back home! Moved here in 2008 and have been missing my TSC fix like crazy! Just happened to discover that Daniel Island has one. I was so excited we drove all the way from Knightsville just to have lunch there. Talk about disappointment. Their smoothie menu is half the size of the TSC’s I’m used to in RVA and they didn’t have my favorite wrap on the menu (or smoothie). I ended up asking for a special order wrap (which they forgot my bacon on). That being said. If you go there without expecting the menu you’re used to elsewhere then I’m sure you might think it’s great. Very crowded though.

Great place for the privileged white folk on DI who don’t know what healthy food is. Staff has no idea what items are vegan. The smoothies are one size only, huge, mostly ice. I asked what sauces were vegan… The owner/​manager didn’t know. The person who looked like orders supplies didn’t know. The girl talking my order was frustrated with me and I was just standing there watching her run around. I picked something else and was told it would be vegan. Had cheese on it. I don’t expect every restaurant to be accommodating or know what vegan means but a place that prints healthy on every item should get it. I won’t be back. Oh and potato chips on the side… Ha ha. Healthy.

Smoothies, Fish Tacos & Reggae? Count me in!
This place is my new favorite lunch spot. Ordered some Cilantro Lime Fish Tacos — delicious, but a little bit too much cilantro crema. I also ordered a Detox Island Green Smoothie (spinach, kale, ginger, pineapple, mango, banana) — SO good. The smoothie is 24oz and only $ 3.50 pretty great price.
Will DEFINITELY be coming back!

I read about Tropical Smoothie Café on a blog recently and was surprised to learn that there was one on nearby Daniel Island. How did I not already know about this place?!
I love the bright, beachy feel of the café. The staff was really friendly and the smoothie menu is extensive. I also love that they serve their entire food menu all day, as I arrived starving at 10:30 in the morning.
I chose the Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad sandwich a fantastic mix of grilled chicken, cranberries, apple, grapes, pecans and spinach. It comes with your choice of various sides so I, of course, opted for the chocolate chip cookie. For the smoothie, I went with the Sunrise Sunset. It was a refreshing blend of strawberries, mango, pineapple and orange juice.
Great visit, can’t wait to go back again!

Nice place when your on the island and want a healthy or not smoothie. They also have a small selection of solid sandwiches and wraps. The island is better with Tropical Smoothie Café on it.
