I’m looking for an appliance fix-​it person… and saw this business has lots of positive Unilocal reviews. I checked out their Better Business Bureau rating, and I see there are complaints: like take $ 450 to fix a washer, not ever return a call when it’s not fixed. So, beware, folks… check out the BBB page.

Poorest show of character and integrity of any business I have ever dealt with. Michael came to look at our gas cooktop and said we needed to order a part, so we paid for that in advance as well as labor. Never saw the guy again. We sold our house and tried to get back into contact, each time to an apologetic Michael claiming the buyers were not being cooperative, he lost his help, he thought the part was unnecessary on second thought and wanted to look at the cooktop again, etc. We were to the point of legal action with the homebuyers when we asked to just get our money back, to which he kindly said he would send a check asap. Never saw a check and never answered another call.
We thought Michael was a standup business man, beware– he’s a scammer and he soiled our relationship with our homebuyers through the nightmarish experience.

I was told A technician would come to my house before 5pm which did not happen nor did I receive a call. I called to again ask for a service call and was again told it would happen if I could «be flexible». But again no show no call. Not good business.

Micheal is very professional, always great prices, and courteous he has done a great job every time! would definitely recommend him to anyone. Best appliance company in town, It is great to see a local guy create and succeed in an industry they enjoy.

In October of 2014 I was referred by Michael by one of the appliance parts stores in town. I could not be happier with Michael’s work. He was prompt, very professional, personable and so knowledgeable. He fixed my washer in record time after another large company in Charleston failed to fix the problem. He also took care of my ice maker issue as well. I would not hesitate to recommend Michael for your appliance needs. He gets it done and is very reasonable on pricing too!

I was all set for my Christmas party in two days… Until my dishwasher started leaking onto my floors. Not only was Michael able to come out on the same day at the END of the work day, but his service fee was $ 20 less than the other places I called. He was professional, courteous, and walked me through each step as he did it. I was concerned about the appliance’s overall installation and he went as far as to show me things I could try fixing on my own should I have issues in the future. Not only is my dishwasher not leaking, it’s running better than ever now. He didn’t miss a thing — correctly guessing that I’d tried to wash some wine glasses from microscopic shards in the washer’s arm, that my disposal had been draining poorly due to the angle of a hose behind the washer and that my faucet arm wasn’t extending as well as it could — all fixed and clean at no additional fee.
He called it being a professional. I think it’s fair to call him the appliance whisperer.
Also his work comes with a warranty!

When it comes to hiring a repair company, finding the right one can be very hard and stressful. I had narrowed down my choices to three local companies to fix my dishwasher. The first company I called/​researched turned out to have lied about being BBB certified, and to this day, still has the BBB seal on their website. The second company wanted an arm & leg just to show up at my door. Which brought me to The Appliance Team.
I wrote an email explaining to them my issue and asked a few questions. Mike, who I assume is the owner, called me back within 30 minutes of my email and we set up an appointment for a few days later.
He could not have been more professional or courteous if he tried. He knew exactly what the problem was, fixed it, charged me a more than reasonable price and was out the door in less than 20 minutes.
Appliance repair companies are a lot like lawyers, you hope you never need them but it’s great to have one you can trust, and The Appliance Team is certainly trustworthy. I will continue to make my first call to them whenever repairs are needed and recommend them to anyone else.
