This was my first visit to the Charleston area with my boyfriend. We both were told to check this this place out. It was our first stop in town(Morrison Avenue location), we went in and it seemed a bit chaotic with hoe busy it was. I didn’t mind, that was a good sign to me. We were then greeted by a waitress who took our name and that the wait was 20 – 25 mins, we grabbed a beer then headed outside to wait. We waited for about 5 – 10 minutes, then were told we could take a seat at the bar if we wanted, we jumped at the opportunity. We both ordered the burgers and shared a side of fries… ITWASAMAZING! Needless to say we will be back and we tell everyone about The Tattooed Moose!

About as deceptive an interior as you’ll find anywhere. Screams bar food and little more, which couldn’t be further off the mark. It is truly a great place to grab a bite. The menu is all over the place, with duck fries to kimchi, which again screams something that is a Jack yes, a Master no. And again, I’ve in my two visits been proven completely wrong. Despite the depth of the menu everything on it seems made with care, and more importantly an understanding of the ingredients and they aren’t just there because an owner saw them on FoodTV. I’ve worked that place before, this isn’t. Would recommend without reservation. Flavor is on point and the portions will likely leave you bringing a snack home at prices that are appropriate.

I have to say I have never been a tomato basil soup eater but the Tattooed Moose has turned me into one! If I could compare the cravings I have for their soup to anything I would imagine it would be like a kid wanting candy! I have heard the rest of their menu is pretty spectacular as well, especially their duck fat fries!

Hangover food at its finest. I make it to their brunch anytime I can, and lunch and dinner are great too. Of course it’s also a bar, and that’s not bad either. Hipsters hipsters everyone, but, well, that’s the neighborhood. Try the duck club, obviously, and the fries.

Yum! I’m from Boston and this bar/restaurant really reminded me of a lot of the bars up there. We split the Duck Club and it was everything people say and more. I don’t like duck, so I actually gave the duck to my man, but I still got the jist of the sandwich. Great, fresh Hawaiian bread, ridiculously good bacon and fresh lettuce and tomato. Oh, and those fries? Don’t get me started… they are fresh cut so cooked perfectly nut still a little soggy and seasoned perfectly with just salt. Don’t miss going here if you’re in Charleston, but be prepared for a bit of a wait… it’s a small space so there was a wait when we were there.

Great dive bar with a nice outdoor area to sit and have a beer. Got the duck club for lunch, which was delicious!!! I would go back just to get that sandwich again. I liked that the sandwich came with homemade pickled cucumbers and tomatoes. They were the perfect flavor(not too vinegary) and complimented the very sandwich well. For our sides we had a basket of duck fat fries, that were some of the best I’ve had in a long time, and the curry cauliflower salad, which was better than I expected. It had a light curry sauce over it(not too heavy or overly spiced), and reminded me of coconut Thai curry sauce. I like that they added red bell peppers for some nice color and a crunchy texture. Great bar to go to for some delicious, and innovated food. Don’t judge a book by its cover!

I wandered over here simply because I was in the area and I had heard about these fries over and over again. It was definitely worth it! We visited around 11 pm(they were open until 2, so plenty of time) and grabbed two beers, two corndogs, and a basket of fries. I wasn’t a fan of the beer, but that’s on me — I should have asked for a taste. They had some«bargain beers» also, which is always cool! The corndog though — SOOOO good. I really liked their spicy-mustard-ketchup mix. The fries deserve their own paragraph. I cannot sing high enough praises for these dang fries! They are the perfect combination of crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. They are fried perfection. The aioli that comes with them is out of this world. I could eat them every day and be a happy camper. GET. THESE. FRIES. The table we sat at was a bit sticky and the bathroom was gross, but it is a divey type of place and we knew that going in. I just wish it was a little cleaner.

The coveted five star spot goes, hands down, to this place. I mean, you COULD go to Panera and get a smoothie and an overpriced turkey on asiago bread… and then go home and tuck the kids in at 7 pm, watch the evening news and be asleep by 8:30. But why would you when the Tattooed Moose exists? All kinda people watching to do, a great beer selection, and food(especially the sandwich selection) to put any chain gig to shame… and pretty hard to beat against any of the local non-chain gigs, too. Shoot. I’mma have to get larger pants for sure… and the kids is staying up late again because momma needs a sang-itch* *Disclaimer, I ain’t got no kids, but if I did I’d be boycotting Panera for this place still.

One of my favorite places to eat in Charleston. Such a fun atmosphere, and the food is AMAZING.(Everyone raves about the duck club, but I’m partial to the Lucky #1. Pork belly and kimchi? What more could you ask for!) The duck fat fries definitely live up to the hype — we order a basket for the table every time we go. I took my mom and aunt here while they were visiting from out of town and they were blown away! Will definitely be back.
