This review is for the Copy Center. My colleague and I were traveling for a conference in Charleston, and we needed a banner printed. At my recommendation, we placed an order and paid for a simple vinyl banner on 05⁄08. When we arrived at the store on 05/12, we were informed that due to a supply shortage, they hadn’t made our banner. While frustrating since we had placed the order and paid 4 days prior and had received no notification from Staples about any sort of issue with the order, the supervisor Nate was apologetic and offered to give us 50% if we printed at a different size. We were informed it would take 30 minutes to print the banner and 50 additional paper copies. When we returned 30 minutes later, no one had any idea about our order. We had to wait for them to find our banner, and our copies were not made. There was 3 people«working» in the copy center, yet we sat at the counter unacknowledged for close to 15 minutes. When we finally received our banner, it did not have grommets, as ordered. Again, we had to wait for the grommets. Meanwhile, a female copy center employee stood by hand collating hundreds of black and white copies(which could have been easily programmed to have the machine do) and refused to acknowledge us or outstanding order. Our banner was not quality checked and had smudges of toner on it, but at this point, we had no alternatives. Instead of waiting another hour for 50 copies, we cancelled that order and waited for a manager to refund us the 50% we were offered. The manager(Ronald) said nothing to us the entire time, despite the clearly negative experience we had at the copy center. It took him about 10 minutes to refund us as he chatted with other staff members while customers behind us waited for service. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in a Staples copy center, and we will never be returning for future events. I have encouraged all my colleagues to avoid this location and head to the Fedex Kinkos on Capitol Street. This Fedex location has staff who are extremely efficient, friendly, and quality-conscious.
