This place is by far one of my FAVORITE places in Charleston! Every time I come, I’m greeted as though I were family. The service is fantastic, the food far above my expectations every time. This place goes out of its way to provide the best it possibly can, and in just a couple hours, I will be happily dining with them again.

Pretty good food. Lots of options at decent prices. Very friendly staff and quick to get food out. There were only 2 other couples here besides us but they were quick to get all orders out. Will come again.

I got a Pickup order, and when I came in I made sure to see if there were a lot of people or not so I could order a bubble tea. Well there was only 1 table of 4 people and they were already eating. There was also a server and an older woman who I thought to be the hostess/owner. She walked up to me right when I walked in and asked if I had the Togo order, I said yes but that I wanted to get a bubble tea. Hah. So she went behind the counter I’m assuming to add my tea to the bill. Then she started yelling to the server about me ordering a bubble tea while there were customers, right in front of me.(She also kept ranting when she went to the back to make the tea) I don’t speak her language but it was obvious what she was saying… Considering she said bubble tea, customers, and was flailing her arms around pointing at me and the customers. After her rant she looked at me and calmly asked what tea I wanted. I was shocked. It was unprofessional and rude. Never going back there again. I don’t normally write reviews but this was too much.

Holy Hangover Helper! I have been trying to eat here fore a year, but for one reason or another kept missing the opportunity. BIGMISTAKE! I had the Phở, and it Phoking awesome. Loaded with meat, and noodles in a deliciously rich broth, I was able to cure my cocktail influenza without finishing. They have a great variety on the menus and I cannot wait to try it all… Riso Noodle House could easily become my new obsession.

We had hotpot yesterday. It was so great, both the food and the service. We call one day in previous, and the prepared it for us 7 people in total. It is very authentic Chinese food.

Love this place! Not so convenient for me, but Ibtry to go when I’m in the area. It’s very fresh and reliable and they have reasonably priced lunch specials. Healthy sized portions are served, so you won’t leave hungry. Service is excellent! Servers are very friendly and accommodating. I’m not sure how they do it, but you never wait long once you’ve ordered. Booths could really stand to be recovered, but they have put covers on them to help temporarily. They have Boba(bubble tea) for $ 3.95. Check it out if you haven’t before. The restaurant is in a shopping centre, so not much true curb appeal, but it provides for easy access and plenty of parking. I sought this place out initially due to Unilocal reviewers, so good job you! I will definitely keep coming back now that I have found it.

Now that I know they have Vietnamese cold noodle salad, I will definitely be back. A different version than what I’m used to but it tasted good overall! Prices were good and the waitress was sweet too! Try it for yourself!

I am only in the area may be once a year and I have added this place to my must eats every time I am in town. A little bit of a drive from were i normally stay at but it is well worth the drive each and every time. I am have the beef noodle soup this time and I always have Thai tea each time. Only because of Unilocal was I able to find this place and the Unilocal reviews that guides my choices.

Pretty much your standard American-Chinese food restaurant. There wasn’t much spectacular with the flavors, mostly typical fare. I had the Chicken Lo-Mien which was a little bland, but the service was good and the prices aren’t too bad so that bumped it up from 3 to 4. I get the feeling that this is more popular as an easy Chinese Take-Out spot.

Great place for lunch, especially when you want something different and better than a sandwich. Menu has a nice variety of fried rice dishes, noodle dishes, big bowl soup noodles, and so much more. I had the sweet BBQ buns(appetizer) and the Singapore Pancit noodle. Wow, both were just too good to describe, and served hot to order. The buns were filled with pork bbq, with a cucumber slice and cilantro on top. Then Singapore Pancit noodle was curry flavored with egg, cilantro. I enjoyed both and want to return to try even more items from their menu. I was also happy with the service. Liping was very friendly and always checking on me during my meal. Go check it out and enjoy!

I went in with low expectations and am glad I did or it would have been an even more disappointing meal. The lumpia appetizer wasn’t bad but was the smallest lumpia I’ve ever seen. The entrée’s come out as they are prepared, which is okay unless there’s an almost 10 minute gap between the first and last entrée. My noodle soup was whole unremarkable. The beef was tender but lacking in any real flavor. Other than the noodles the other accompaniments in my bowl were very large pieces of bamboo and iceberg lettuce– this does not a tasty soup base make. My dining guest ordered the standard ramen and was also brought a bowl of iceberg lettuce with noodles but her’s also included a very overcooked boiled egg with it. Though they aren’t in abundance there are some great places in town to find good ramen and noodle dishes so I probably wouldn’t go back here and waste my time. If the prices were cheaper I might have a different opinion but the prices are comparable to what else is in town.

Have yet to try the Phở but their Boba is the. I won’t say it’s better than Tapio but it’s close.

They have hot pot! The satff is very friendly very helpful and they thai tea is delicious! Hot pot is enough for around 5 – 6 hungry people and is delicious. Theybring it all out set it up and it turns into a great time. This place is kind of hidden away by outback steakhouse in west ashley. In a strip mall looking place. If you are looking for asian cuisine that isn’t you typical americanized restaurant on every corner try this place!

As another reviewer mentioned, I’m not sure if they use MSN or if I had a bad fishcake(maybe a combo of both) but about an hour after eating there I’ve been left feeling sick to my stumach, sweating, and my stumach is cramping. I ordered the Ramen, my egg was vastly over cooked(greenish/grey yolk) and my fishcake tasted off. I should have known something was up when my waitress found it hilarious that I ordered the ramen. Perhaps their fishcakes taste waterlogged and frozen and ND that’s just the way they like them, don’t know, but I’ve definitely had better. Hubby’s Pad Thai was okay, a little bland. It needed something, some heat, more cilantro, probably a lot less bell pepper as that’s all I tasted, but it seemed to have been cooked in a red pepper paste instead of a normal peanut sauce. Again, their tastes may differ from mine, but I’ve never had Pad Thai like that before. My Boba was wonderful, though, if a little overly sweet. I highly recommend that. May try this place again and order something else if I’m in that area again. For now, I’ll stick to my noodle house in North Charleston.

I was wondering… was it just me or others also had similar symptom. I didn’t ask them if they use MSG. I don’t remember if they had sign anywhere stating«NOMSG». After I had the beef noodle soup, I found myself drinking way too much water. I didn’t think the soup was salty at all. Than my stomach was started to turn. I had a same reaction from a phở in Austin where happen to use MSG. I thought it was just me or just unfortunate coincident. Next day, I took my co-workers here to have a lunch and to try pig feet. Whoever had a pig feet picture on here with the comment«best pig feet» need to take the picture down or change the title to just«pig feet». I had far better big feet & this one wasn’t one of it. I had more than a half leftovers, put in the container but didn’t take it with me when I left. Well, I forgot but I didn’t bother to going back(I didn’t leave the parking lot). So next day I was talking with my co-worker who had garlic chicken, she said«the restaurant must using MSG» Her condition was nausea, dizzy & headache. Mine was nausea, making my mouth dry & ultra thirsty. I was pretty disappointed. Beef noodle soup was so good but I can’t have it if it’s giving me nasty symptom afterwards. so from 4 stars, I am dropping it to 2. Because it could be just me & my friend.

Excellent customer service, Fantastic Prices… but the food didn’t have a wow factor. We started with the bubble tea, I got passion fruit green tea, which is amazing but you have to like the bubbles in bubble tea, I didn’t. Based on Unilocal reviews I made sure to get an order or pancit noodles and then the lumpia which I couldn’t miss trying. Word to the wise, the beef lumpia is basically a beef sausage link in the roll. I’d suggest skipping, maybe the veggie lumpia would have been a better choice. The side of pancit noodles ROCKED. The pancit noodles had subtle rich flavor with amazing prices of egg that made me wish it was my entrée. For my entrée I got pork ramen… and I think it was served pretty traditionally, but I wouldn’t order it again. I left with a lot of leftover Ramen. If I went back, I order based on Elite Unilocalers suggestions. I’m glad I tried it, it was at least something new.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. For those not liking the ambiance of the seating, please take the time to actually give the food a chance and enjoy what they have to offer. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and loved it. Service with a smile on my lunch break, and overall good experience.

Well I knew from previous Unilocalers this place was going to be good. We ordered the beef chow fun dish with fried rice and hot and sour soup. Very good flavor profile and unusual texture on the noodles gives the beef chow fun a five star spot. Everything else was cooked perfect and tasted great. Don’t forget to try the bubble tea they have many flavors and options. The young man who waited on us with the Levi shirt and glasses could probably give a class on how to wait tables. He was super friendly and did a great job taking care of us for lunch.

When I find a place I like, I am very loyal to that business. I bring lots of people, and always recommend them to others. I’ve been to Riso 10+ times and have been very loyal to them. I was very excited to finally have a noodle house in town that had boba and that served authentic Chinese dishes. One reason I haven’t reviewed them is because every time I visit Riso is always a hit or a miss for me. Both the staff and the food. Unfortunately since my last visit, that was the last time I decide to eat at this establishment. The good: Riso has this«hidden» Chinese menu on the back of the boba drinks menu with a list of authentic Chinese dishes. Everything on the Chinese menu is delicious and is worth every penny. Also the Vietnamese dishes are very good as well. The rest of the food on the other hand can be a hit or a miss. The pad thai was a big miss for me. It wasn’t pad thai but more like a noodles stir fry. The boba drinks are good, but can be very sweet at times and I usually have to ask them to take it down a notch on the sugar. I do like the traditional milk teas and that they have a stamp card. I am always satisfied and patient with the regular staff at Riso. My problem is the way that Patti, and the owners conduct themselves toward their customers and new staff really disappointed me. They are very unprofessional and don’t handle things the right way in order to smooth things over with customers when they have a problem. The chefs and the waitstaff also have a communication issue. Every time i’ve been here my food has never come out all together. Each person would always get their food in such random orders and times. I’ve also heard other tables complain about this as well. It’s as if the chefs cook what’s easiest first and just send whatever is ready out instead of going in order of the ticket and working together. One night,(a Friday night) Riso was slammed with customers. Being a former waitress I am usually very understanding and patient especially when I have nothing going on. After being seated I noticed there were only two staff serving a full house. Patti(the manager/owner(maybe) and a new waiter who had been training for four days. We waited about twenty minutes before we were able to put in our order. We ordered the same thing as the people behind us(who came in after us) but they got their food first. After they got their food, we were informed that those dishes were sold out. That couple came in, since they knew the owners they ordered straight from the kitchen and got their food before us even though we were there first. I was more upset because we weren’t informed about our food being«sold out» for another 20 minutes after we ordered. Patti kept blaming the new guy for everything. Apologizing for him, yelling at him for doing this or that wrong. Very unprofessional. We finally couldn’t wait anymore so we just paid for our drinks and left. We then had to come back the next day because I left my debit card there. Patti then tries to make up for the night before by giving me a $ 10 gift certificate. I do understand and appreciate that she was trying to make things right, but a good manager knows how to make things right then and there. Overall: The food itself is not consistent or unique enough for me to keep going back. In the end this place left a bad taste in my mouth. Very sad and disappointing but I cannot continue to support a business that cannot conduct themselves professionally. I keep it at three stars because of the amount of times i’ve been there and have enjoyed my food. Also, I hope that they can improve on their customer service and work out the communication kinks.

Ok, so this place is legit. I’m so glad all the other Unilocalers out there pointed me in this direction… I feel like I should be fair and mention that I was«eating clean» for the week prior to this visit, and let’s be honest, everything not clean tastes better after a week of eating clean. Ha! Let’s see, where to start. We ordered bubble tea to start. I’ve never had it before and it was straight up amazing. My husband got one too and he would not stop about how great it was… and he’s had the real deal before in Asia. The $ 3.50 glass is huge, so, just do yourself a favor and try it. At the server’s suggestion I got the Taro tapioca bubble tea, it was amazing. This was my favorite part of the whole meal. We also tried the lumpia, which was again pretty good, nothing crazy, but really good. Great flavors here! Then we got Phở and Udon noodles with a $ 3 side of Singapore Pancit Noodles. I’ve never had Phở before. The portion was ridiculous huge. I feel like this is something I could eat without feeling super heavy… it comes with a side of bean sprouts, cilantro and basil for you to add into it as you like. I actually thought the Phở was better the second day, maybe because there was a bit more flavor from sitting with the cilantro and basil. My husband didn’t like the Phở, but he also doesn’t like cilantro and prefers something a bit more heavy than soup. The udon noodles were both of our favorite between the two entrees. The hubs said he thought they tasted a little bit smokey(in a good way). Do yourself a favor and try these too. For whatever reason, ours didn’t come out like the fajita plate that Scotty C. mentioned, but nonetheless, they were very good AND… huge plus, I didn’t walk away feeling like I just licked a salt block for an hour. Sometimes after Asian food, I feel that way, but not with this dish. We also got a $ 3 side of Singapore Pancit noodles. Let me tell you, the $ 3 side is enough to be a full meal, really… and I can put food away. Unfortunately for this dish, they did the noodles but forgot the«Singapore» part of it(the server caught it, I would never have known), and she sent them back. Because they essentially cooked them twice, I think they were a little more dry than they would normally be, but still, good food. All in all, we ended up taking 2 boxes and 2 large soup containers home… I mean, if you are HUNGRY, go here… you can get a ton of good food for cheap! Lastly, I want to mention the service. I didn’t see a name tag and I didn’t want to scare the server by asking her name. Her English was rough, and I mean, really rough, BUT I would pick her again in a heartbeat, she was SO sweet and smiley. She seemed so happy to be there. She came across as someone genuinely happy and content to be working there, like she was having fun seeing two people come in and really enjoy their food. Kudos Riso… it will be tough to restrain myself to once a week.
