Rice Bowl

First time there. Food was great. I did not see any hush puppies as mentioned in other posts nor any tomatoes or celery in the egg drop soup. but I would have liked to have tried that. I will come back again.

Yes, most of their food is generic Americanized Chinese, but they have the best crab rangions, and egg drop soup. And, although the egg drop soup does have tomatoes and celery in it, it is all the more flavorful for that.
Our waitress was very good. Our drinks were never empty, straw papers & sweetener papers disappeared. This is a restaurant that we have busted before, and we will come back again.

Rice bowl has the best ragoons and the hush puppies are a must try for anyone frequenting this great little Chinese restaurant. Just about everything we have ever had here has been great.

The Rice Bowl is part generic Americanized Chinese and part pure West Virginia. The GAC is expected with all the standard fare: fried rice (best in the area), eggrolls, Moo Goo Gai Pan and General Tso’s etc. etc., all done well if uninspired. But the real treat is the free appetizer serving of sweet hush puppies with honey butter. These are the exact same that used to be featured at the late, lamented River’s Edge in St. Albans, which isn’t all that surprising since both restaurants share a few cooks.
Nice layout with real cloth tablecloths and your choice of cozy booths or good-​sized tables.
Lunch buffet is decent. If you want the trough experience I’d recommend the the Asian place near Wal-​Mart. I almost always opt for the menu myself.
Worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood.

Bug in my food one time, food poisoning the next. Plus, who puts tomatoes in egg drop soup?! Nope. Won’t be back. I suggest you stay away as well.

Service can be so-​so. Good Chicken w/​Broccoli & Gen. Tso’s. Very reasonable for the portions. Haven’t tried buffet yet.

The veggie fried rice was absolutely delicious; the rice has bits of egg in it, which I love! Some veggie fried rice does not. The crab wontons are THE best I have tasted in a long time!!! The veggie egg rolls are very crisp, and have mushrooms, yum.

Started to go to this recommended restaurant, but found out they have really bad marks through the Kanawha Health dept. They were closed due to unsanitary and serving unsafe food… The report was posted on the front entrance. Ill try another

Food was excellent. Service was great. We loved the spring rolls and the crab Rangoon was wonderful. I would recommend it to anyone!

Love it! You would not think it would be good from the exterior, but it is great.

Excellent service. Offers many authentic Chinese dishes in addition to the American classics like General Tsao’s chicken. Really like the Chinese broccoli, the chinese donuts, and the Walnut shrimp. A must stop every time that we are in town.
