Everything was delicious however the wonton soup was slightly over seasoned. I definitely recommend the pork stickers, orange chicken, and coconut boba tea smoothie :) Slightly expensive for lunch running me about 20 $ but I had plenty of leftovers. I wish they would add a smaller portioned/smaller priced lunch menu. #lovedit

Delicious vietnamese cusine. Great phở! Ive been here a couple times and the service is also tentative. Family owned and closed on Sundays.

I’ve been back to Phở Vinh Long several times since the new owners took over. It’s just as good as it used to be when I first started driving from Huntington just to eat here and drive back. I could not be happier with the current state of this restaurant.

This place has changed hands/management several times in the past few years. This summer the sprouts I was served with my Phở were brown and unappealing. They were very defensive saying that they only got them once a week, like that was a legitimate reason for them to serve me old browned sprouts! I’ve made a special trip there several times only to find them closed, even though the signage indicated they should have been open. The last time this happened(September 2015) the employees were still inside, yet they ignored me when I tapped on the window to get their attention, They didn’t answer the phone even though I called multiple times; the one time they did answer it was«we closed»(click)! Duh, I already knew that; I wanted them to tell me why they were closed at 8:20 while the sign on the glass said 9:00. The Phở was usually pretty good, but I won’t be going back until the ownership/management changes.

Place is small diner-ish. But the food is superb! Get a Vietnamese Coffee. The staff always seems eager to deliver excellent service.

Traditionally as I to places that are of ethnic foods I found that the shadier the better. This place has a good balance both home feeling and clean resturant. I am a big fan of their thai tea and the Vietnamese coffee is on point.

Great phở, good value, family operation. This in one of a number of ethnic restaurants located on D street in South Charleston. We’ve been eating here for a few years. It’s one of our regulars.

I was passing through and wanted to try this place. I ordered the Phở(number 10), and although it didn’t taste bad, it was not up to par for being Phở. As previous reviews have stated, the broth is quite clear, and not very flavorful. The beef tendon and brisket were also not the greatest quality. Bean sprouts and basil were fresh. Staff was very friendly and polite. Vietnamese coffee was great, and their spring rolls are good. In general the food is good, but not great in terms of your typical vietnamese. Free parking is available on the street.

Must not need any money because this place is ALWAYS closed. Forget the week of Thanksgiving. CLOSED. I wonder if they close the entire month of December because of Christmas.

This place USED to be delicious! I’ve eaten here several times when I am home to visit family. Recently, new owners took over. What a shame. I wouldn’t even call the«phở» they are serving phở. The broth isn’t served hot and it obviously missing key ingredients because it doesn’t taste like phở at all. I’ve eaten phở from all over and this used to be a really good place. Now I will just stay away.

This place used to be so freaking amazing and fresh. The owner put so much care into his ingredients and the quality of his dishes. My favorite thing in the world would be that the rare beef would cook in the hot broth while I ate it. I had that experience every time I went there. Because of this, the meat would always be so perfectly tender and juicy. Also, they used to have the best rice paper summer rolls money could buy. They were so firm and full of fresh flavor. Now I could take them or leave them.

I’m extremely glad South Charleston has Phở Vinh Long! It serves authentic, great tasting food unlike the other Asian food restaurants near the area. The phở broth is delicious. Hearty. Served hot just the way I like it. The egg rolls are decent. They don’t serve the egg rolls with fish sauce. Their sauce is a bit thicker, and a lot more tangy but it’s not bad. Love the Thai tea. It’s pretty sweet, but I like it. I didn’t enjoy the Vietnamese Coffee as much.

Nothing like a family owned Phở place in WV… I recently returned from Atlanta and this Phở is some of the best I have had anywhere!

Inexpensive, awesome Vietnamese food. Been here several times and the food usually comes out fast and fresh. Get the phở fo sho! I love it with shrimp or seafood but they also offer beef or chicken. It comes in a huge bowl with broth, noodles and lots of condiments you can add in. If you want something sweet, they have a good selection of boba teas and slushies.

Clean with friendly staff. Was a little pricier than I expected but meal was very good. I had combo fried rice which wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be.

Called ahead with a takeout order while passing through WV — spring rolls and Phở Dac Biet. Unfortunately they did not have crispy chicken wings and I could not view the entire menu on the website, so that needs a bit of updating. I only had to wait a couple of minutes while they finished preparing my meal, but once we drove away and I started eating, things just tasted a little off. Granted, I am sure this is a nice option for locals, but I’ll hold off on getting my fix on Vietnamese food for another city.

Great mom and pop Vietnamese restaurant in South Charleston, really breaks up the cultural stagnation here. The food was great, fresh and crisp good flavors too, 2nd Vietnamese food experience overall. On the down side it is a mom and pop place so it takes a bit to get your food but it brings a good atmosphere to the place. Highly recommend the Thai Iced Tea!

My friends and I stopped here for dinner in the middle of a long drive. About half of us had never tried phở before, and since this place is highly rated in Charleston which was on the way for our trip, it seemed like the perfect place to dine. We got here around 7pm on a Saturday night, and our group of 4 was seated immediately since the restaurant was empty. We split the following(family style): Shrimp spring rolls — standard but tasty Phở with meatballs — standard but also tasty Beef fried rice — plain and boring, could use a little more beef; there were maybe 4 very thinly sliced pieces Shrimp vermicelli — plain and boring, it could use a kick. I’ve had vermicelli at other places but something was off about this. Also, the shrimp was overcooked and a little rubbery. Taro bubble tea — standard but the tapioca balls might be a little overcooked and thus not as chewy as they should be. Overall, they do phở pretty well but the rest of their menu could use a little work. We were pretty hungry though and finished all the food that we we ordered. Also, the service was decent — they had trouble understanding our requests, but they were still attentive.

I love this place! I am brand new to Charleston and though I’ve only had it a handful of times, I have really enjoyed Vietnamese food. I cannot speak to how authentic Phở Vinh Long is, but I know that it’s delicious and the price is great. The quality of the food was good in my opinion but again I don’t know Vietnamese food very well. The staff was really friendly, especially my waitress. The place was pretty empty when I got there around 4pm and it was super clean. It had a decent sized dining room with plenty of tables and chairs. Now for the food! First I got the spring rolls as an appetizer, and they were delicious. Lettuce, noodles, mint and shrimp. They were served with an amazing sweet peanut sauce. You got two giant spring rolls for $ 2.99 which I thought was a great price for them. For my dinner I got a small shrimp noodle. Most of the noodle bowls were around $ 8 and it’s slightly cheaper if you get a small. Let me tell you though, the small was still huge! It came with thin noodles, 5 or 6LARGE shrimp(tail still on) and some green and white onion in the broth. Served fresh on the side were giant slices of jalapeño, bean sprouts, cilantro, a wedge of lime and a tiny bit of some other herb(really don’t know what it was). I personally HATE cilantro so I was really glad that it came on the side and was not served in the spring roll. The broth was super hot of course, so I suggest throwing the bean sprouts and jalapenos in first if you want the sprouts to soften and the flavor of the jalapeño to work into the broth. I waited until the very end to try lime in my broth in case I didn’t like it, and I’m glad because I wasn’t a fan. Overall I have decided that I love this place. They have an amazing menu with over 40 selections of entres. Mainly beef noodle bowls but also chicken and shrimp. There were other bowls that could be served with or without sauce/broth, as well as some dishes with fried rice, dumplings, egg rolls, etc. I also saw Pad Thai on the menu! I definitely fell in love and will continue to try other items on the menu. I plan on eating here at least once a week while I’m in town for work so I can try the different items!

Stopping through Charleston I was surprised to see a Vietnamese spot and so it was a good enough reason to stop. I had the #23 vermicelli with pork, shrimp and egg roll. The dish was OK but it did not come with mint added like some other places I’ve gone. I did ask for some lime and Thai basil and all together it turned out nice once I added the extra spices and chili. The service was fast and the place itself was clean, bright, and welcoming.
