I went here with a friend I wasn’t impressed as hairstyles with 20 years of experience. If I had my Gear with me I would of done a better job I feel sorry for my friend

My husband has been going to this barber for 3 years now and got a hair cut Saturday morning by a girl named Tammy. She was clearly still drunk from the previous day. She dropped her comb 3 times and butchered his hair! There are 6 bald chunks in the back of his head. My husband is a pretty passive person and did not say anything about her continuously dropping the comb and he was unable to see what was being done to the back of his head. When he came home and I saw his hair I made him take me up there so I can speak to the person that cut his hair and the owner. «The owner was out of town.» Tammy’s only response was «I did not see that. Are you the one that asked me if I knew what I was doing?» Which he wasn’t. That must’ve been another poor sap that she butchered on the same day! She then offered to fix it but there was no way she was going to touch his hair agin. Thankfully there was another girl there named Jessica who fixed his hair and gave him his money back. I’m posting the pictures of his haircut because words can not explain how awful it was. What ever you picture in your head… Make it 10 times worse. I’m just glad she did not cut off his ear or something!

I have had my haircut here before work, in total, probably about 10 times. Each haircut has been clean, what I asked for, and done in a flash. They give you a nice nice shave and hot towel at the end to clean it up to the max.
The ladies aren’t chatty, which I like because I’m not a fan of small talk. They just take care of business and charge a fair price. They cut hair for kids to seniors and anywhere in between. I recommend it for any guy out there.

Returned today. 2÷22÷16, a year later, and it’s still the best barbershop I’ve ever been in.

I would give this place a 10 star. Best hair cut I think I have ever received. The staff was friendly and it is as cheap as great clips I would have payed double for the cut I got.
I was in from out of town and was walking by. Note they only take cash.
They do have you turned around the whole time which was a little odd, but who cares!
They have great stylist!

I love Palmetto Barbershop. I love this place so much that I drive 15 miles downtown and fight for a parking spot when I need a trim. I have been coming to this barbershop since moving to Charleston; and although I have tried others in Charleston, none compare Palmetto Barbershop.
Every visit here I get a great cut from a very friendly staff; the ladies here cut men’s hair better than any male barber I’ve ever seen, and they are awesome at carrying on a great conversation while they cut, style, and trim your hair. I highly recommend the neck shave after a cut here and the neck massage.
This place is so awesome that even Jimmy Buffet has had his hair did here.

Friendly staff, good price. Loved the hot neck shave, towel, and massage at the end! But I can’t get over the fact that they chopped my sideburns off WAY too high. I didn’t even realize until I got home because she (oddly enough) had me turned away from the mirror the entire time.

I came in earlier this week and received the best haircut I’ve ever had. I was surprised that they also have a student discount, which made the experience all the better. Go to the Palmetto Barber shop if you want great service for a great price.

This place deserves 6 Stars in my book. Every hair cut and hot-​lather neck shave is only $ 15!!! They even through in a complementary neck rub at the end. If you don’t come here, you’re missing out on a super affordable service that will give you a new perspective on life walking out the door and hitting the street again.

I love this barbershop. The biggest draw to any barbershop is consistency. I have patronized many hair cutteries in my time and eventually they all come up short. Palmetto is the only place that I have patronized for over six months that has never delivered a bad hair cut. It does not matter which lady you get they all do a great job. Attention to detail and good conversation are the norm at palmetto.

The ladies formerly of Broad Street Barber Shop have resurfaced in new digs! Get the same great hair cuts and great conversation at their new shop with an entire wall of windows that look out onto the beautiful courtyard of Charleston Place Hotel and Market Street. Give them a shot… you won’t be disappointed.
